Field Cutting
1.1
Pull out the insulator/spacer from the end of the extrusion to be cut.
1.2
When cutting the extrusion in field, ensure that the extrusion is sitting
perpendicular to the cutting surface. 1.3 Trim the power track back 5/8” with hand
shears to fit the length of the extrusion,so that there is enough room for the
end insulator/spacer to be installed. 1.4 Re-install insulator/spacer onto cut end.
Track Preparation
2.1 Remove a spacer from one end to allow room for a power feed cable. 2.2 Using a hand drill, drill a 3/8” hole, 3/8” from the end of the track housing. 2.3 Deburr the hole or add a bushing/grommet to protect the power feed cable from damage.
Endcap Installation
3.1 Using the provided screws, fasten the endcaps.
Backer Flange Installation
4.1 Backer flanges should be installed on both sides of the track. The backer flange has four hole positions and two orientations. 4.2 The two orientations of the backer flange are labeled as Orientation 1 and Orientation 2.
Track Length | # of Backer Flanges |
---|---|
4ft | 8 (4 on each side of track) |
8ft | 14 (7 on each side) |
12ft | 18 (9 on each side) |
4.3 Backer flanges should be located 3-4” from each end and spaced apart no greater than 18”. All measurements are from the centerline of the backer flange.
Mounting Method 1: Remodel Install
5.1
Give the power cable 8”-12” of slack protruding from the track for
wiring.
5.2 Route power feed cable through power feed hole, then insert the track
into slot in drywall at an angle. Slot should be 2” width by (track length +
7/8”) length. 5.3 Screw through drywall into backer flange
perforations using #6 size drywall screws. 5.4 Apply mudding tape to perimeter of
slot. 5.5
Begin the spackling process, taking care not to have debris accumulate on any
contacts. Mud over the permieter of the slot until the fixture is flush with
the drywall. 5.6 Paint over the spackled perimeter.
5.7 Be sure to thoroughly clean track and remove any debris or dust
before wiring.
Mounting Method 2: New Install with Blocking
6.1 Give the power cable 8”-12” of slack protruding from the track for wiring. 6.2 Using wood blocking to create a 2-1/2” channel for the track to mount to. Route power feed cable through power feed hole, while ensuring the power feed is given enough slack for wiring the power feed to the cable. Fasten to wood using #6 flathead screws. 6.3 Screw through drywall into backer flange perforations using #6 size drywall **screws.![luminii Trimless Recessed Track

slot. 6.5
Begin the spackling process, taking care not to have debris accumulate on any
contacts. Mud over the permieter of the slot until the fixture is flush with
the drywall.
6.6 Paint over the spackled perimeter.
6.7** Be sure to thoroughly clean track and remove any debris or dust before wiring.
Mounting Method 3: New Install with Mounting Bracket for Threaded Rod or
Hangar Bars
Length of Track | # of Brackets |
---|---|
4ft | 3 |
8ft | 4 |
12ft | 6 |
7.1
The mounting bracket is screwed onto the track using the same method as the
backer flange. The brackets should be located up to 8” from each end and
spaced apart no greater than 30”. All measurements are from the centerline of
the bracket.
*The mounting bracket is included if the track is ordered with mounting code MB. 7.2 If using threaded rod, the threaded rod should be secured to the structure above, then secured to the center hole of the bracket using two nuts (one on bottom and one on top). The mounting height of the track should be adjusted so that the bottom of the backer flange is flush with the bottom of the joists. Threaded rod and nuts are not supplied by Luminii. 7.7 If using a hangar bar, the hangar bars should be inserted perpendicularly through the bracket, and the pincers hammered through wooden joists. The track can slide laterally on the hangar bars for positioning. Once the hangar bars are fastened, attach drywall to flanges with #6 drywall screws.
7.3 Apply mudding tape to perimeter of slot.”
7.4 Begin the spackling process, taking care not to have debris
accumulate on any contacts.
7.5 Paint over the spackled perimeter 7.6 Be sure to thoroughly clean
track and remove any debris or dust before wiring.
Continuous Row Mounting
8.1 Insert two mechanical joiners into one track housing on the outside front surface and tighten set screws. 8.2 Slide the second track over the mechanical joiners and use the remaining set screws to make a secure, aligned join.
L and WTC Corner Housings
9.1 The L-corner housings are attached via sheet metal joiner that slides into the channel on the back of the track housing extrusion. Set screws are used to secure the corner joiner plates to the track housing extrusions. It is recommended that the corner and adjacent track sections are pre-assembled on the ground before being mounted to the ceiling structure. 9.2 The WTC corner housings are attached via sheet metal joiner that slides into the channel on the back of the track housing extrusion. Set screws are used to secure the corner joiner plates to the track housing extrusions. It is recommended that the corner and adjacent track sections are pre-assembled on the ground before mounting to the ceiliing structure.

Module and Cover Installation
|
---|---
13.1 Carefully align then snap the ambient or directional module fixture into the surface/recessed track housing. When doing this installation, it is easier to install each fixture at an angle like in the image above. Be careful to ensure that the module has full connection to the track and isn’t sitting at an odd angle (see picture to the **left).![luminii Trimless Recessed Track
- Figure 44](https://manuals.plus/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/luminii-Trimless-
Recessed-Track-Figure-44.jpg) 13.2 Track covers may be cut to length in the
field and installed between modules to create a closed aesthetic
look. 13.3
To remove the directional or ambient modules from the track housing, use the
provided plastic tool to pry out the modules from the ends. It is easier to
remove one end at a time as in the image shown.
Note: Total wattage of installed modules must not exceed 96W, 4A Maximum per power feed.
Module and Cover Installation (continued)![luminii Trimless Recessed Track - Figure 47](https://manuals.plus/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/luminii-Trimless-
Recessed-Track-Figure-47.jpg) 13.4 The directional modules can be
aimed+/-30° by loosening the rotation lockingscrews and setting to the desired
angle. Retighten the rotation locking screws before inserting the directional
module into the track housing to lock in the desired angle. 13.5 Optional
lens accessories simply snap into fixture head of the Stenos Directional
Module.
13.6 The power track contains three copper conductors: The center conductor
is a common positive (+), while the outer conductors are separate negatives
(-).
13.7** The ambient and directional modules have asymmetric electrical contact pins that allow for 2-channel installations depending upon the module orientation when inserted into the track housing. This 2-channel feature of the power track allows for the creation of two separately controllable lighting zones. For example, all ambient modules can be controlled on channel1 and all directional modules can be controlled on channel #2.
13.8 If only 1 channel control is desired, the separate negative (-) power feed wires can be tied together when wiring the remote power supply.
