Product Information

The Plant DNA Extraction Kit is designed for extracting DNA from plant samples. It provides a quick and efficient method to isolate high-quality DNA for various downstream applications.

The kit includes the following components:

  • Binding Buffer
  • Lysis bead tube
  • Lysis Buffer PPB
  • RNase
  • miQron plate
  • Combs

Please note that the kit allows for the extraction of up to 16 samples simultaneously.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Add up to 50mg of plant leaves sample to the lysis bead tube provided.
  2. For optimal results, perform one of the following methods:
    • Use a TissueLyser at maximum speed and mix for 3 minutes.
    • Vortex the sample for 10 minutes.

After mixing, centrifuge the tube at 20,000g for 2 minutes to pellet the cellular debris.

  1. Remove the protective foil from the miQron plate.
  2. Place the plate into the miQron, ensuring that the label is facing outward.
  3. Insert two combs into the designated slots on the miQron plate.
  4. Select the PDKit protocol on the miQron and press the “Run” button to start the extraction process.
  5. Once the program is complete, carefully remove the plate from the miQron and discard the combs.
  6. Columns 6 and 12 of the miQron plate contain the purified DNA elution.

Following these instructions will enable you to extract high-quality DNA from plant samples using the Plant DNA Extraction Kit.

How To Use

  1. Add up to 50mg of plant leaves sample to the lysis bead tube provided.
  2. Add 600µl Lysis Buffer, 60µl PPB, and 5µl RNase. Mix for 3 mins using TissueLyser at max speed or vortex for 10 mins; then centrifuge at 20,000g for 2 mins.
  3. Remove the protective foil.
  4. Avoiding pellets, transfer up to 400µl of supernatant to Binding Buffer (Columns 1 & 7). You can add up to 16 samples.
  5. Place plate into the miQron, taking care that the label is facing outward.
  6. Insert two combs.
  7. Select the PDKit protocol and press
    When program is complete, remove plate from miQron and discard combs.

Columns 6 and 12 contain the purified DNA elution.
