Kimberly-Clark ICON Automatic Towel
Use of this Dispenser
Not recommended for outdoor installation or in wet environments. Do not
attempt to clean the dispenser with a water jet or by spraying the dispenser
directly. Follow the installation and usage instructions. Only use genuine
Kimberly-Clark Professional product refills intended for the specific model.
The dispenser can be cleaned using a damp cloth and detergent, do not use
abrasive cleaning products.
Use Caution, Edges may be sharp when dispenser is open or during faceplate installation.

General Safety Information
This dispenser can be used by children over the age of 8 years old and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, provided they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the dispenser by a person responsible for their safety.
Access to the service area is restricted to persons who have knowledge and
practical experience of the dispenser, in particular as far as safety and
hygiene are concerned.
This dispenser is not a toy and shall not be used by children as such.
Children shall not perform cleaning or user maintenance of this dispenser.
High-risk individuals are not expected to use this dispenser safely unless
continuous supervision is given.

Module Installation for Recessed Dispensers
For instructions on how to install the module into a wall-mounted Roll Hand
Towel Dispenser, please refer to the Automatic Roll Towel Dispenser
instructions found on www.kcprofessional.com.
Note: Install the housing assembly into the wall before installing the
module.

Remove the cover by closing it about halfway. Align bottom edge of cover with vertical alignment line.
The key feature on the inside of the cover should line up with it’s corresponding slot on the dispenser body, allowing the cover to be flexed off. -
Remove the cover.

Once the housing assembly is installed, align the back of the module with the angled posts on the back wall and lower into position.
Ensure that the module is level once positioned. -
Insert screws, one on each side, to secure the module
in its position inside the dispenser shell. -
Replace the cover by lining up the slot feature on the inside of the cover with its corresponding slot on the housing assembly in order to snap the cover back on. Allow the cover to fall open once replaced.

Insert the cable jack into the module (cable shown in red).

Load the dispenser. Refer to the Load New Roll section for further instructions.
Dispenser Access

To unlock the dispenser, insert key into lock and rotate the key one quarter turn towards the wall.
Gently pull the cover forward. -
Support the cover while opening.

To lock, close the cover.
The dispenser will lock automatically without the key if the lock is returned to the lock position.
Load Batteries
- To load batteries, depress the battery lid tab and lift upward.
- Remove depleted batteries if present.
- Insert new batteries ensuring polarity is correct.
- Align tabs on battery cover to front of battery compartment opening and push to engage.
Battery Information

4D type 1.5V alkaline batteries required.
(Batteries provided for initial installation.) -
Change all 4 batteries at the same time, do not mix types or brand of batteries.

Please follow the battery insertion instructions ensuring polarity is correctly aligned.

Used batteries are to be disposed of safely and follow local environmental policy for disposal.

Do not short circuit the supply terminals of the battery or the dispenser.
-
Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
-
Remove batteries if stowed unused for an extended amount of time.
Load New Roll
-
Load rolled towel into upper roll holders.
Do not remove core plug. Some towels will feed over the top of the roll. -
Lift the bronze loading bar and place the leading edge of the towel under the bar and on top of the large black roller. Have the towel extend up to 1” inch in front of the bronze bar. Release the front loading bar.

Press the sheet feed button until towel exits the module.

Tear off any dispensed towel.

Close cover securely.

A sheet will automatically dispense in less than 4 seconds to confirm proper loading if the dispenser is set to hanging mode.
It will NOT automatically dispense to confirm if set to hidden mode.
Load Stub Roll
- Lift the blue loading bar to its raised position.
- Without disengaging the sheet from the drive mechanism, move the partial roll from the upper roll holders to the lower blue roll holders.
- Lower the blue loading bar to its original position.
- Load a new rolled towel into upper roll holders.
- Lift the bronze loading bar and place the leading edge of the rolled towel from the new roll under the bar. Have the rolled towel extend up to 1” inch in front of the bronze bar.
- Tear off any dispensed towel.
- Close cover securely.
- A sheet will automatically dispense in less than 4 seconds to confirm proper loading if the dispenser is set to hanging mode. It will NOT automatically dispense to confirm if set to hidden mode.

Menu
Lock
The lock button will pulse repeatedly until held for 3 seconds. Once unlocked,
the lock button will turn white and activate additional settings.

Hanging Mode
The dispenser is designed to function in either the “Hidden” or “Hanging”
mode.
To set the operating mode, press the hand sensitivity icon for the “Hidden”
mode and the hanging icon for the “Hanging” mode.
Sheet
Length
To set the length of the sheet that is dispensed, sequentially press the sheet
length icon to the top (10”), middle (12”) or lower (14”) position.
Hidden
Mode – Activation Range
To adjust the activation sensitivity, press the hand sensitivity icon to
toggle between sensing distances. Top line only indicates shortest sensing
distance and both lines indicate longest sensing distance.
Note: For installations over counters, trash receptacles, etc.,
activation sensitivity must be set to the shortest sensing distance.
Notifications
Add New
Roll
When a new rolled towel needs to be added, the dispenser indicator light will
pulse red for 10 seconds and the low product icon will illuminate on the
service panel.
Transfer Stub Roll
When rolled towel can be moved to the partial roll position, and the stub roll
animation will cycle through for 10 seconds on the service panel.
Towel
Feed Issue
In the unlikely event of a towel jam, the dispenser indicator light will pulse
red and the Towel Issue Light will illuminate on the service panel.
Open the dispenser to identify and address the issue, then cycle through the
towel feed.
Low
Battery
When battery power is low, the dispenser indicator light will pulse red and
the Low Battery Light will illuminate on the service panel.
To resolve this, replace the batteries. Reference the Load Batteries section
for further instructions.
Alerts
Critical Error
External lighting will illuminate in red to notify servicers of a critical
error. Critical errors include out of product and towel jam.
Low Paper Error
External lighting will illuminate in blue to notify servicers that paper is
getting low and should be moved to the stub roll location.
Power Adapter
- Locate and remove the rubber grommet covering the optional power adapter plug-in on the back of the module.
- The power adapter cable will need to be wired through the wall. Once wired, run the cable through the left side opening of the interior recessed cage. The cable will be able to pass behind the module and feed up the right side shown in red in the graphic to the right.
- Once the power adapter cable is wired and fed behind the module, pull it vertically and plug it into the power adapter plug.
