Product Information

  • This product is a luminaire that requires installation and operation according to national safety regulations. It should only be installed and commissioned by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer does not accept liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. Any modifications made to the luminaire should be done by a responsible person who will be considered the manufacturer. The luminaire is protected against overvoltage according to DIN EN 61547, but additional overvoltage protection components are recommended for extra protection. More information about these components can be found on the manufacturer’s website at www.bega.com.
  • The product comes with different module designations, color temperatures, color rendering indexes, module luminous flux, luminaire luminous flux, and luminaire luminous efficiency. These specifications are listed in the user manual.
  • Note: The luminaire is supplied with a matching cavity-wall box, but if other cavity-wall boxes are used, they must be made of electrically insulating material such as plastic.
  • Through-wiring of the luminaire is only possible with an electronic box. The recommended flush-mounted box for flush-mounting is Kaiser 1068-02, and the recommended cavity-wall box for cavity-wall mounting is Kaiser 9268-94.
  • The LED module in the luminaire can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools. The designation of the LED module can be found on a label inside the luminaire. Replacement modules from BEGA have the same light color and light output as the originally fitted modules. When replacing the LED module, disconnect the system, open the luminaire, follow the installation instructions for the LED module, and replace any defective glass before closing the luminaire.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure that the luminaire is installed and commissioned by a qualified electrician according to national safety regulations.
  2. If additional overvoltage protection is desired, visit the manufacturer’s website at www.bega.com to find suitable components.
  3. Choose the desired module designation, color temperature, color rendering index, module luminous flux, luminaire luminous flux, and luminaire luminous efficiency based on the user manual.
  4. Use the supplied cavity-wall box for installation, or if using a different cavity-wall box, ensure it is made of electrical insulating material.
  5. If through-wiring is required, use an electronic box such as Kaiser 1068-02 for flush mounting or Kaiser 9268-94 for cavity wall mounting.
  6. When replacing the LED module, disconnect the system, open the luminaire, and refer to the installation instructions for the LED module.
  7. Replace any defective glass before closing the luminaire.

  • The electronic components installed in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547.

Installation

  • LED are high-quality electronic components!
  • Please avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
  • Installation into solid walls For this purpose a recess box, ø 68 mm and a recessed depth of min. 62 mm is necessary.
  • Installation into wall panels
  • A recessed opening of ø 68 mm is necessary to accept the cavity-wall box.
  • Recessed depth min. 65 mm.
  • The lateral distance between the cavity-wall box and standard combustible building parts must be at least 40 mm.
  • The claws of the cavity-wall box catch the wall panel from the backside. If the minimum thickness is less than 7 mm, it must be reinforced from the back side.
  • The maximum thickness of the panel must be no more than 35 mm.
  • Pass the mains cable through a cable entry of the cavity-wall box and fit the cavity-wall box.
  • Make sure that the countersunk screws of the cavity-wall box are horizontal relative to the ground.
  • Connect the earth conductor to the link on the luminaire housing.
  • Make an electrical connection to the terminal of the power supply unit.
  • Insert the luminaire into the cavity-wall box and use the two countersunk screws to adjust and secure it.
  • Use retention pins to mount the cover frame with glass on the luminaire housing such that the two rear magnets are seated on the countersunk screws.

Note:

  • This luminaire is supplied with a matching cavity-wall box.
  • If cavity-wall boxes of other manufacturers are used, they must be made of electrically insulating material such as plastic!

Through-wiring

  • Please note: Through wiring of the luminaire is only possible by means of an electronic box.
  • We recommend the use of a flush-mounted box Kaiser 1068-02 for flush mounting and a cavity-wall box Kaiser 9268-94 for cavity wall mounting.

Cleaning · Maintenance

  • Clean the luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers from dirt.
  • The defective glass must be replaced.

Replacement of the LED module

  • The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire.
  • The light color and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those of the modules originally fitted.
  • The module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools.
  • Disconnect the system and open the luminaire.
  • Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module.
  • The defective glass must be replaced.
  • Close the luminaire.
