BEGA 12128.2 Ceiling and Wall Luminaire
Product Information
This product is a luminaire made of aluminium with a stainless steel finish. It features hand-blown crystal glass with a white interior and a screw-neck. The luminaire has a silicone gasket and two cable entries for through-wiring for mains. It has a distance of 220 mm between the cable entries and a connecting terminal of 2.5@ with a plug connection. The luminaire also has an earth conductor connection and a 2-pole connecting terminal for digital control. The LED power supply unit of the luminaire operates at a voltage range of 220-240 V and a frequency of 50-60 Hz. It has a DC voltage range of 170-280 V. The luminaire is DALI-controllable and has one DALI address. It has basic insulation between the mains and the control lines.
The luminaire has a temporary thermal regulation feature to protect temperature-sensitive components without switching off the luminaire. It is classified as safety class I and has an IP64 protection rating, making it dust-tight and protected against splash water. The luminaire has an impact strength of IK06 and weighs 3.8 kg. Product Usage Instructions
- Installation and commissioning of the luminaire should only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
- Ensure that national safety regulations are followed during the installation and operation of the luminaire.
- Do not modify the luminaire without proper authorization. Any modifications should be performed by the responsible person who will be considered the manufacturer.
- To protect against overvoltage and transients, it is recommended to use separate overvoltage protection components. These can be found on the manufacturer’s website at www.bega.com.
- The luminaire is equipped with an LED power supply unit that operates at a voltage range of 220-240 V and a frequency of 50-60 Hz. The DC voltage range is 170-280 V.
- The luminaire is DALI-controllable and has one DALI address. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for DALI control.
- The luminaire has a temporary thermal regulation feature to protect temperature-sensitive components. This allows the luminaire to adjust its light output without completely switching off.
- Ensure that the luminaire is installed in accordance with the specified safety class and protection rating (safety class I, protection rating IP64).

Safety
The installation and operation of this luminaire are subject to national safety regulations. Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. If subsequent modifications are made to the luminaire, the person responsible for these modifications shall be considered the manufacturer.
Overvoltage protection
The electronic components installed in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547. To achieve additional protection against e. g. transients, etc. we recommend separate overvoltage protection components. You can find them on our website at www.bega.com.

Installation
- LED are high-quality electronic components! Please avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
- Remove glass from luminaire housing by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Disassemble LED module.
- Disconnect plug connection.
- Lead the mains supply cable through the cable entry into the luminaire housing.
- Fix luminaire housing with enclosed or any other suitable fixing material onto the mounting surface.
- It is absolutely essential to use the enclosed gaskets.
- Push silicone sleeves over the lines, make ground and electrical connection to the terminal – plug connection.
- For digital control please use the
- 2-pole plug connector (DALI).
- In case this connector is not used the luminaire will be operated at full light output.
- Push plug into coupler as far as it will go. Assemble LED module.
- Screw glass with gasket firmly into the luminaire housing by turning it clock-wise.
- Make sure that gasket is positioned correctly.
Cleaning · Maintenance
Clean luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers from dirt. Defective glass must be replaced.
Replacing the LED module
The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire. The light colour and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those of the modules originally fitted. The module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools. Disconnect the system and open the luminaire. Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module. Inspect and, if necessary, replace the luminaire gaskets. Defective glass must be replaced. Close the luminaire.
