Product Usage Instructions

1. Ensure that the installation and operation of the luminaire comply with national safety regulations. Only a qualified electrician should carry out the installation and commissioning.
2. To protect against overvoltage, it is recommended to use separate overvoltage protection components in addition to the built-in protection.
3. Prepare the mounting plate by using the provided or suitable fastening material to attach it securely to the installation surface.
4. Undo the hexagon socket head screws on the luminaire housing and lift the housing.
5. Take caution not to touch the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
6. Loosen the earth connection and LED connection between the luminaire housing and mounting plate.
7. Pass the power connecting cable through the cable entry in the mounting plate.
8. Attach the luminaire housing onto the mounting plate and tighten the hexagon socket head screws evenly.
9. Insert the supplied shield into the luminaire housing, ensuring that it engages with its magnetic underside flush to the profile groove of the housing.
10. Refer to the LED module’s installation instructions for any specific guidelines. Replace any defective LED covers.
11. To loosen the screw connection of the LED module, first loosen the hexagon nuts on the inside and remove the metal plate from the luminaire housing.
12. Remove the loose luminaire cover and press the synthetic LED cover together lengthwise to remove it from the housing profile.
13. Remove the LED module and install the replacement module following the installation instructions.
14. Reassemble the luminaire in reverse order.

Please note that any modifications made to the luminaire are the responsibility of the person who made them and may void the manufacturer’s liability for any resulting damage.

Safety

• The installation and operation of this luminaire are subject to national safety regulations. Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
• The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. If subsequent modifications are made to the luminaire, the person responsible for these modifications shall be considered the manufacturer.

Overvoltage protection

• The electronic components installed in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547.
• To achieve an additional protection against e. g. transients, etc. we recommend separate overvoltage protection components.

Installation

• Undo the hexagon socket head screws (wrench size 2.5 mm) and lift luminaire housing. LED are high-quality electronic components! Please avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
• Loosen earth connection (plug connection) and LED-connection (plug – plug socket) between luminaire housing and mounting plate.
• Pass the power connecting cable through the cable entry in the mounting plate. Fasten the mounting plate with the supplied fastening material or other suitable fastening material to the installation surface.
• Make sure to use the gaskets supplied. Establish earth conductor connection and make the electrical connection to the terminals. Restore the earth conductor connection (plug contact) and LED connection (plug–jack) between the luminaire housing and the mounting plate.
• Install luminaire housing onto the mounting plate and tighten hexagon socket head screws evenly.
• Carefully insert the supplied shield into the luminaire housing. Make sure that in its final position, the shield engages with its magnetic underside flush to the profile groove of the luminaire housing.

Cleaning · Maintenance

• Clean luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers from dirt.
• Replacing the LED module
• The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire.
• The light colour and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those of the modules originally fitted. The module can be replaced by qualified personnel using standard tools.
• Disconnect the system from the mains.
• Undo the hexagon socket head screws (wrench size 2.5 mm) and lift luminaire housing. Loosen earth connection (plug connection) and LED-connection (plug – plug socket) between luminaire housing and mounting plate.
• In order to loosen the screw connection of the LED module, first loosen the hexagon nuts on the inside and remove the metal plate from the luminaire housing. Remove the loose luminaire cover.
• Press the synthetic LED cover together lengthwise and remove it from the housing profile.
• Remove the LED module. Install the replacement LED module.
• Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module.
• A defective LED cover must be replaced. Install the luminaire again in the reverse order.
