GENERAL NOTES
- Notice that the pedals move up and down, but also make a slight sideways movement: The lower pedal points slightly outwards.
- Before you start your exercise programme, seek sound medical advice. Tell the health professional which device you would like to train with. Show this instruction manual to the health professional.
- If you feel unwell or suffer from certain illnesses or injuries, do not perform any exercises. Check this with your doctor.
- Appropriate training can strengthen circulation and muscles and improve well-being. However, overexertion can be harmful. We recommend monitoring the pulse; see chapter 8.4.
- Avoid exercising immediately after eating or when tired.
- First warm up in a suitable way with stretching exercises (see chapter 8.3).
- Exercise for a maximum of 10 to 15 minutes at first. Never overexert yourself. If you like to increase the intensity, do this very slowly.
- In any case, do not forget to take the necessary breaks.

STRETCHING FOR WARMING UP AND COOLING DOWN
- To begin your training session, do some stretching. Never overstretch your muscles.
- We recommend to perform each of the following excercises 10 times and to repeat the complete cycle up to five times. Then make your training according to your personal fitness level.
- After training, also do stretching excercises to properly cool down.
SELECTING AND MONITORING THE TARGET PULSE
The pulse rate in BPM (‘Beats per Minute’) indicates very well if you are
training according to your target and your current personal fitness level. The
BPMs for the targets depend not at least on the age. You should monitor your
pulse in a suitable way.
Many Sportstech devices show the pulse range that you are currently in not
only as a numeric value, but also by means of colours – based on the maximum
heart rate (‘MHR’) typical for your age.
Always adhere to the following notes:
WARNING! Danger of health damage or even death due to incorrect or excessive training!
- Prevent overexertion! Always respect individual, current fitness levels. Pay attention to body signals!
- Pulse measurement systems can be inaccurate.
- The training target ranges are only average guidelines that must be adapted to the individual constitution. Medically well-founded support is recommended here!
Select a guide value for your target pulse as follows:
- Select your age in the graphic on the right.
- Below, your age-typical maximum pulse (MHR) is shown as an estimated value.
The Selection graph allows to determine a Target pulse range.
- From your age value, go up into the colour field which corresponds to your training target.
- Then go straight to the left and read the target pulse from the scale.
img
In any case:
- Check if the determined target pulse suits your needs. If not, re-adjust it until you’ve found your individual optimum value.
USING THE STEPPER
- Be sure to follow the safety instructions in chapter 4 and the general training instructions in chapter 8.1.
CLIMBING ON
- Press a pedal down with the foot. Place one foot on the lower pedal.
- Carefully place the other foot on the upper pedal. Ensure balance in the process.
DESCENDING
- Standing on the device, press one pedal down.
- First descent from the upper pedal, ensuring balance.
- They also get off the lower pedal.
WHICH MUSCLE GROUPS ARE LOADED?
- Stepper only: mainly leg and buttock muscles
- Elastic ropes only: mainly arm and shoulder muscles
- Stepper and elastic ropes combined: Legs, buttocks, arms, shoulders
POSTURE DURING TRAINING WITH THE STEPPER
- Keep as upright and straight as possible; do not form a hollow back.
- When stepping, do not touch down with the pedals on the base frame if possible: shift the load from one leg to the other just before touching down.
- When the arms are free, bend them slightly and move them in rhythm in front of the upper body.
SETTING TRAINING RESISTANCE AND STEP AMPLITUDE
-
With the adjusting screw on the underside of the device, you determine the training resistance and step amplitude by changing the distance between the pulley and the bearing of the pedals.
CAUTION! Risk of property damage!
Make sure that there is no play between the pulley and the rope: Always tighten the set screw at least enough to prevent the rope from slipping out of the pulley groove. -
Increasing resistance and decreasing amplitude:
Turn the screw clockwise -
Decreasing resistance and increasing amplitude:
Turn the screw anticlockwise. Do not loosen too much.
USING ELASTIC ROPES
WARNING! Risk of injury and property damage.
It is essential to also observe the safety instructions in chapter 4 and the
general instructions for training in chapter 8.1.
ATTACHING ELASTIC-ROPES
- Attach the snap hook of the first elastic rope in the
- eyelet at the base frame. Make sure that it is firmly and safely hooked in.
- Check the condition of the hook, the handles and especially the elastic rope before each use. In case of damage, do not continue to use.
HAND & BODY POSTURE WHEN TRAINING WITH ELASTIC ROPES
- Hold the handles horizontally with your hands. Do not bend your wrists! Always hold the elastic ropes tightly.
- Keep arms tense.
- Perform all movements consciously.
- Stretch elastic ropes to a maximum of 185 cm; do not overstretch. Risk of injury!
EXERCISES
We recommend 3 rounds, repeating each exercise about 6 to 10 times.
However, never overexert yourself!
You can vary many exercises by turning the palms the other way. Please note,
however, that the amount of force required for the respective exercise can
change significantly.
In any case, keep the wrists horizontal and always hold the handles firmly.
- Bend arms and perform stepping.
- Hold the handles with the back of the hand facing down. Bend arms at hip level.
- Raise one hand to the shoulder. At the same time, press the foot down on the other side.
- Lower the hand evenly and bring the foot back up.
- Repeat the movement alternately.
- Training shoulder area (without stepping)
- Hold the handles with the back of the hand facing upwards at hip level.
- Pull one hand up to the chin. Keep the back of the hand facing upwards.
- Move the other hand downwards at the same time.
- Repeat the movement alternately.
- Lift arms and perform stepping.
- Hold the handles with the back of the hand facing upwards at hip level.
- Press elbow to the side of the upper body.
- Raise one arm stretched in front of the body.
- At the same time, press the foot down on the other side.
- Repeat the movement alternately.
- Training back, shoulder, chest
- Hold the handles with the back of the hand facing upwards at hip level.
- Start stepping.
- Raise left and right arm simultaneously outstretched to shoulder height
- Lower the arms evenly again.
- Repeat the movement.
Cleaning and maintenance
WARNING! Risk of burns! The damping cylinders get hot during training. After training, allow the device to cool down before transport, cleaning and maintenance.
CLEANING
-
Clean the stepper after training with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
Do not use aggressive, corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents or solvents. -
Never allow moisture to enter the computer.
CHECKS
- Before each use, check that all parts of the device are in perfect condition. This applies especially, but not only, to:
- All connecting parts between base frame, dampers and pedals; especially plastic washers
- the elastic ropes; i.e. ropes, handles and snap hooks
- Resistance rope, pulley and attachment: Must be intact and without play.
- If you notice possible or actual damage, do not continue to use the device under any circumstances.
Contact our customer service. You will find the contact details on the back of this manual.
LUBRICATING
- If the stepper makes louder noises during operation, put a small amount of viscous grease in the groove of the pulley so that it is distributed when the pulley is moved during exercise (see illustration on the left).

Disposal
Dear customers,
As an end user, you are legally obliged to collect waste electrical and
electronic equipment and batteries as well as accumulators separately from
municipal waste. We want to make this as easy as possible for you. Please note
the information on this page and on the back.
Notes on EU directive 2012/19/EU – in Germany implemented in ElektroG (Law
about electric and electronic devices); elsewhere implementation may differ)
We advise owners of electric and electronic equipment that waste electrical
and electronic equipment must be collected separately from municipal waste in
accordance with the applicable legal regulations. The symbol of a crossed-out
garbage can, which is shown on waste electrical and electronic equipment, also
indicates the obligation to collect this waste separately.
Notes on disposal and symbols for an electrical appliance based on EU
Directive 2006/66/EU (in Germany in accordance with the Battery Act (BattG);
elsewhere, implementation may differ) Old batteries and accumulators must not
be disposed of with household waste. As an end user, you are legally obliged
to return used batteries. The symbol with the crossed-out garbage can means
that you are not allowed to dispose of old batteries in the household waste.
Use the official collection points for this, such as the collection points of public waste disposal carriers. You can also return used batteries to retail outlets, provided they sell batteries. If the symbol Cd, Hg, or Pb is displayed under the symbol of the crossed-out garbage can, this is an indication that the battery contains either cadmium, mercury or lead. These are toxic heavy metals that not only pose significant risks to the environment but also to human health.
Recycling loop
Packaging material can be conveyed back to the raw material cycle. Dispose of
packaging material in accordance with legal provisions. Information can be
retrieved from the return or collections systems of your community.
