INTRODUCTION
The SPORTSTECH body analysis scale BBS300 measures using the Bioelectric
Impedance Analysis (short BIA) muscle mass, bone mass, body fat and body water
content and gives you the percentage distribution of these values in relation
to your total body weight.
Based on the evaluation of this personal data, the scale also shows you your
body mass index (BMI) and your heart rate. The device thus offers you a
reliable and precise overview of your body composition.
Intended Use
This product is intended for private use and is not suitable for medical,
therapeutic or commercial use.
The maximum load capacity of 180 kg must not be exceeded.
Attention! This device is not suitable for people with medical implants
such as a pacemaker or other electronic medical devices. Their function could
be impaired.
How does the BIA measurement work with the SPORTSTECH BBS300?
The advanced BIA measurement takes place via a weak and harmless electrical
pulse, which is sent through the body by the 4 integrated electrodes within
just a few seconds. The electrical resistance in the body is measured,
whereby the fat tissue and the bones have more resistance and therefore less
electrical conductivity than the muscle tissue and body water.
The person-dependent, individual factors such as gender, height and age are
taken into account in order to determine your personal body composition as
accurately as possible.
Please note that the determined values of the SPORTSTECH bathroom scale only
represent approximate values to the real, medical analysis values of the body.
The exact determination of muscle percentage, bone mass, body fat and body
water can only be carried out using the methodology of a medical specialist.

General information on the weighing process with the SPORTSTECH BBS300
- For the most accurate measurement possible, stand still during the measurement process and do not move if possible. Do not support yourself or hold on to anything. Your feet should be positioned centrally and symmetrically on the electrodes of the scale.
- If possible, always carry out the weighing process at the same time of day and under the same conditions (undressed, sober) in order to obtain comparable results.
- The body analysis values can only be determined barefoot. Since completely dry soles of the feet have too low a conductivity, you can moisten them very weakly if necessary.
- The measured values in a body analysis with bioimpedance measurement methods depend on several factors and can vary considerably over the course of the day. Weighing in the evening (between 6 and 8 p.m.) is, therefore, recommended as an optimum time for a body analysis measurement. In the morning, the body is drained, which means that the body resistance and thus the measured body fat percentage is higher, but the muscle percentage is accordingly lower. During the day, the body’s water balance returns to a normal level. You can find more detailed information in section 9 Result Displays.
Notes on determined measurement results
The results can be falsified if the device
- is on an uneven surface.
- is used in different locations.
- is close to mobile phones.
- is placed in locations with high humidity.
- is close to heating sources or in the range of fluctuating temperatures.
- is exposed to shocks or vibrations.
Avoid direct sunlight.
DISPLAY AND FUNCTIONS
INSTALLATION
-
Charging the battery
Before using for the first time, fully charge the integrated battery using the micro USB cable.
The battery symbol on the top left of the display shows you the current charge level. With average use, the battery life lasts at least 30 days. -
Personal Settings
The body analysis measurement can display the deter- mined values very precisely and individually based on your personal settings in the “Fitdays” app. The app offers you 13 different measurement values to keep an eye on during your fitness and health regimes and to display any progress and changes for you. Before you carry out the first measurement with your SPORTSTECH balance, please install the free “Fitdays” app on your smartphone and create a user profile. After the scale has been connected to the app once via Bluetooth, the scale shows you the analysis values on its display. The “Fitdays” app offers you further diverse measurement values, individual setting options and long-term comparison values from your measurements. You can also select your preferred weight unit via the app. You can find more information on this under point 8 Application Software (App). -
Cleaning and Care
Please only use a dry, soft cloth to clean the scale. You can also use a cloth that has been lightly moistened with water or a mild detergent. Do not hold the device under running water. Refrain from using aggressive cleaning agents such as alcohol, abrasives or solvents.
BODY ANALYSIS
Start a measurement
- Open the “Fitdays” app on your smartphone and make sure that the SPORTSTECH scale is connected via Bluetooth.
- Make sure that the scale is on a level, firm surface. The body analysis function is only available when you stand barefoot on the scale.
- Press the ON / OFF button once on the right side of the device (next to the micro USB connection) so that the display lights up.
- Mount the scales barefoot and position your feet symmetrically on the 4 silver electrodes. The body analysis starts automatically.
Factors that can influence a body analysis
Basically, the measured values of each person fluctuate during the day
according to the distribution of body water. In women, hormonal fluctuations
can change the water balance in the body, which can lead to deviations in the
measurement results. It is not recommended to measure yourself immediately
after strenuous activities, sauna sessions, bathing, alcohol consumption and
eating and drinking, as this can influence the values to be determined.
The following persons or groups of people could receive different or compromised results when determining the body analysis values:
- Competitive athletes and bodybuilders
- Pregnant women
- Children under 10 years
- People on dialysis treatment, with fever, edema symptoms or osteoporosis
- People who are taking vasoconstrictor or vasodilator medication
- People taking cardiovascular medication
- People whose overall body size is influenced by considerable anatomical deviations in the legs (difference in leg length)
NORMAL WEIGHING FUNCTION
Normal weighing function (weight measurement only)
It is also possible to use the device for normal weight measurement. To do
this, press the ON / OFF button once on the right side of the device (next to
the micro USB port) so that the display lights up.
Now stand on the scales with stockings or shoes and you will only be shown
your body weight.

DISPOSAL
Dear customers,
As an end user, you are legally obliged to collect waste electrical and
electronic equipment and batteries as well as accumulators separately from
municipal waste.
We want to make this as easy as possible for you. Please note the information
on this page and on the back.
Notes on EU directive 2012/19/EU (in Germany implemented in ElektroG (Law
about electric and electronic devices); elsewhere implementation may differ)
We advise owners of electric and electronic equipment that waste electrical
and electronic equipment must be collected separately from municipal waste in
accordance with the applicable legal regulations. The symbol of a crossed-out
garbage can, which is shown on waste electrical and electronic equipment, also
indicates the obligation to collect this waste separately.
B. Notes on disposal and symbols for an electrical appliance based on EU
Directive 2006/66/EU (in Germany in accordance with the Battery Act (BattG);
elsewhere, implementation may differ)
Old batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of with household waste.
As an end user, you are le-gally obliged to return used batteries. The symbol
with the crossed- ut garbage can means that you are not allowed to dispose of
old batteries in the household waste.
Use the official collection points for this, such as the collection points of
public waste disposal carriers. You can also return used batteries to retail
outlets, provided they sell batteries. If the symbol Cd, Hg, or Pb is
displayed under the symbol of the crossed-out garbage can, this is an
indication that the battery contains either cadmium, mercury or lead. These
are toxic heavy metals that not only pose significant risks to the environment
but also to human health.
Recycling loop
Packaging material can be conveyed back to the raw material cycle. Dispose of
packaging material in accordance with legal provisions.
Information can be retrieved from the return or collections systems of your
community.
