Connecting the water inlet hose 1. If the water inlet hose is not already installed, it must be screwed into the washing machine.
The hose with the blue mark is for supplying cold water only. Cool

2. Screw the inlet hose onto the tap by hand and tighten the nut.
CAUTION: · Do not make a knot in the hose! · The washing machine must not be connected to the mixer tap of a non-
pressurised water heater. · Check that the connections are watertight by turning the water tap on fully. · If the hose is too short, replace it with a pressure- resistant hose of adequate
length (1000 kPa min, compliant with the EN 50084 standard). · Regularly check the inlet hose for any weakness or cracks, and replace it if
necessary. · The washing machine may be connected without a non-return valve.

Filling instructions
For models with two inlets For models with a single inlet · Connect the inlet hose to the cold water tap and to the inlet valve at the rear of the
machine, as in Fig. 1. · Make sure that: All the connectors have been properly tightened. Do not allow children to use, climb on and stand next to your machine, or get inside the drum. B Product usage

Door opening/closing
· Never open the door by force while the appliance is running; this could damage the locking system. If you have to open the door while the machine is running, turn off the power supply first and wait at least two minutes for the door locking mechanism to unlock.
· To open the door, grasp the door handle, squeeze the inner handle and pull the door. Close the door by pushing it closed until it clicks into place. Do not push too hard.
Emergency opening of the door
· If you are unable to open the door in the event of a power failure or other special circumstances, you can use the locking lever located near the drain pump to proceed with the emergency opening of door.
Notes: · Do not do this when the washing machine is running normally. · Before doing anything, make sure that the inner drum has stopped rotating,
that the temperature has cooled and that the water level is lower than the laundry load. If the water level is higher than the laundry load, drain the water through the drain hose (if applicable) or by gently unscrewing the filter (shown in the figure). · Procedure: Open the drain pump door cover and lower the locking lever using a tool to open the door.

Before the first wash cycle

To remove any of the residual water used during testing by the manufacturer, we recommend that you run a short cycle without any load. 1. Open the water tap. 2. Close the door. 3. Pour a small amount of washing product (approx. 30 ml) into the main wash compartment
of the dispenser drawer. 4. Choose a short program and start the cycle.

Program information 1. The ECO 40-60 program is suitable for washing normally soiled cotton laundry, that is
washable at 40°C or 60°C, in the same cycle. This is the program used to assess compliance with European eco-design regulations. 2. Power consumption is 0.49 W in off mode, and 0.49 W in standby mode. 3. The most energy- efficient programs are usually the ones that work at lower temperatures for longer periods of time. 4. Loading the household washing machine in accordance with the maximum capacity recommended by the manufacturer for the program in question helps to save energy and water. 5. Correct use of the washing product, fabric softener and other additives. Do not use an excessive amount of washing product. This could adversely affect washing performance. 6. Periodic cleaning (including optimal frequency), procedure and limescale prevention. 7. The noise level and residual humidity depend on the spin speed: the higher the speed during the spin phase, the louder the noise level and the lower the residual humidity level.

Washing products
Always use highly efficient low-foam washing products made for front-loading washing machines. The choice of washing product depends on the following factors: 1. Type of fabric (cotton, synthetic/easy-care and delicate materials, wool).
Notes: Use only specific washing products made for washing wool.

2. Colour

21

EN

B Product usage
3. Washing temperature 4. Level of soiling and type of stain
Notes: The whitish stains that form on black fabrics are caused by insoluble components contained in modern washing powders without phosphates. If this happens, shake or brush the fabric, or use washing liquids. Only use washing products that are specifically designed for household washing machines. If you are using descaling agents, dyes or bleaches for the pre-wash, make sure they are suitable for household washing machines. Descaling agents may contain products that can damage your washing machine. Do not use solvents, e.g. benzene, turpentine. Do not wash fabrics that have been previously treated with solvents or flammable liquids.
Dosage · Respect the recommended doses on the washing product packaging. These doses depend
on the following factors: 1. Level of soiling and type of stain; 2. Size of the load to be washed. In the event of a full load, follow the instructions provided
by the washing product manufacturer; half-load: 3/4 of the volume used for a full load; minimum load (about 1 kg): 1/2 of the volume used for a full load; 3. Water hardness in your area (consult your water company); 4. Soft water requires less washing product than hard water.
Notes: Too much washing product can cause excessive foaming, which will reduce washing efficiency. If the washing machine detects too much foam, this will disrupt the spinning process. Too little washing powder will make laundry grey over time and produce limescale in the heating system, drum and hoses.
Where to add the washing products · The dispenser drawer has three compartments (fig. A).

Fig. A

22

EN

B Product usage
Pre-wash compartment · Washing product for pre-washing/soaking
Main wash compartment · Washing product for washing · Stain remover · Water softener (water hardness, category 4)
Fabric softener compartment · Fabric softener · Liquid starch Pour in the additives without exceeding the «MAX» mark.
Notes: Keep the washing products in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children. · Washing liquids can be used for wash cycles with a pre-wash. However, in
this case, a washing powder should be used for the main wash cycle. · Do not use washing liquids when activating the «Delayed start» function (if
this is available on your washing machine).
· To avoid an uneven distribution of product when using highly concentrated washing liquid or powder, use the washing net or ball supplied with the appliance, and place it directly into the drum.
· If you are using descaling agents, dyes or bleaches, make sure they are suitable for household appliances. Descaling agents contain components that can damage the parts of your washing machine.
· Do not put solvents in your washing machine (e.g. benzene, turpentine). · If you are using starch powder, the procedure is as follows: 1. Wash your laundry using the program you want. 2. Prepare the starch-based solution, in accordance with the instructions provided by the
starch manufacturer. 3. Select the «Rinse + Spin» program, reduce the speed to 1000 rpm and start the program. 4. Pull the dispenser drawer towards you so that you can see approximately 3 cm of the
main wash compartment . 5. Pour the starch-based solution into the main wash compartment while water is flowing
in the dispenser drawer. 6. If you notice any starch residues in the dispenser drawer after the program has finished,
clean the main wash compartment.
Draining the waste water (depending on the model)
· Before draining the waste water, switch off and unplug the appliance from the mains. Remove the pump cover and place a container underneath.
1. Pull the emergency drain hose from the machine. 2. Place the end of the emergency drain hose in a container. 3. Unscrew the emergency drain hose cap and remove it once it has been loosened. 4. Wait until the water flows naturally.

23

EN

B Product usage
5. Refit the emergency drain hose cap. 6. Fill the dispenser drawer with 1L of water to check the emergency drain hose. Check
that there is no leakage at the connection of the hose cap. 7. Put the emergency drain hose back in its storage position.

Troubleshooting guide

Depending on the model, your washing machine has several automatic safety features. Thanks to these features, the system can detect problems in time and trigger the appropriate safety measures. In many cases, these problems are so minor that they can be resolved in a matter of minutes.

Problem The washing machine does not start and none of the indicator lights are on.
The washing machine does not start… and the “Start/ Pause” indicator light is flashing. The appliance stops during the cycle (depends on the model).
The appliance will operate in automatic mode after a pause. At the end of the wash cycle, some washing product residue remains inside the dispenser drawer.

Check that
· The electrical outlets are plugged into the wall outlet and the power is «ON».
· The wall outlet is working properly (use a bedside lamp or similar device to test it).
· The door is properly closed (child safety). · The «Start/Pause» button has been activated. · The «Water tap closed» indicator lights up. Open the
water tap and press the «Start/Pause» button.
· The «Tank full» indicator lights up. Deactivate this option by pressing the «Start/Pause» button or by selecting and starting the «Drain» program.
· Another program has been selected and the «Start/ Pause» indicator light flashes. Reselect the program of your choice, then press the «Start/Pause» button.
· The door has been opened and the «Start/Pause» indicator light flashes. Close the door and press the «Start/Pause» button again.
· Check that there is not too much foam inside. Otherwise, start the anti- foaming program.
· The appliance’s safety system has been activated (go to the «Error description table» section).
· The fabric softener compartment grille and the main wash compartment separator are correctly fitted in the dispenser drawer and all the parts are clean (see «Care and maintenance» section).
· There is enough water getting inside the appliance. The screen filters in the water supply system may be blocked (see the Care and maintenance section);

Problem The machine vibrates during the spin cycle.
The final spin is not producing satisfactory results.
If the washing machine has a time display: the duration of the program initially displayed is increased/ decreased by time intervals:

Check that
· The washing machine is correctly levelled and is resting correctly on its four feet;
· The transit bolts have been removed. Before using the machine, the transit bolts must be removed.
· The washing machine is fitted with a system for detecting and adjusting unbalances. If heavy clothing (e.g. : bathrobes) is placed in the washing machine, the system is able to automatically adjust the spin speed or even stop a spin cycle, that has begun, if it detects an unbalance that is too high. This is to protect the appliance.
· If the laundry is still too wet at the end of the cycle, remove some items and restart the spin cycle.
· Excessive foam can prevent the spin cycle. Use a suitable amount of detergent.
· Check that the Spin mode speed selector has not been set to “0”.
This is normal and allows the machine to automatically adjust the duration of the program depending on various factors e.g. : · Excessive foam; · Load unbalances due to the presence of heavy items; · Longer heating times due to the low temperature of
the inlet water. In view of these factors, the remaining duration of the program is recalculated and adjusted as necessary. What’s more, during the filling phase, the washing machine works out the load level and, if necessary, adjusts the initially displayed program duration accordingly. During these updates, an animation scrolls across the duration display.

Enter the after-sales query mode
1. In the OFF mode. press the « » + « Options » + « » to enter the after- sales inquiry mode. 2. It displays the number of operation cycles. 3. Press « Options » to switch cycles or fault codes. 4. When querying fault codes, press the « » to page up and the « » to page down.
