RM-VALBERG Charcoal Barbecue
Please read the user manual after having read the regulatory warnings.
Safety instructions

Please read the instructions carefully before using the unit and save them for future reference.

Please refer to the operating instructions for the model designation, the exploded view and for assembly instructions using diagrams.

For the recommended fuel(s) and the maximum quantity to be used, please also refer to the operating instructions.

Only use the unit as described in this user manual. All improper handling and any contrary use to this manual will not be the responsibility of the manufacturer or dealer.

CAUTION! Failure to follow the safety and operating instructions may result in a risk of fire and/or injury to persons.

This product must not be used by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or people with no experience of using or knowledge of the unit, unless they can be supervised or receive prior instruction regarding how to safely use the product and understand the risks involved. Cleaning and maintenance operations must not be performed by children.

CAUTION! Keep the barbecue out of the reach of children and pets. Keep a sufficient distance away from any hot parts, as any contact could cause serious burns. Please keep in mind that children may not be away of the danger posed by this product.
This product is not a toy. -
Close adult supervision is required whenever the product is used by or near children, especially young ones, who could sustain serious injuries. This is because their face is often at the same level as the fire.

Risk of suffocation! The product includes several screws and other small parts. These components may present a risk of death if swallowed or inhaled.

The screws are likely to loosen over time, in turn reducing the product’s stability. Check that the screws are tight before each use. Tighten all screws when necessary to ensure good stability.

Do not use force when assembling the product.

Do not overtighten the screws.

Do not sit or lean on the product.

Do not use the product if any parts are missing or damaged.
In the event of a missing or damaged part, please return the barbecue to the seller to get it repaired. -
For details on how to clean the surfaces that come into contact with oil or foodstuffs, please refer to the CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE section of the operation instructions. Always check that the barbecue and its parts have cooled sufficiently before cleaning them.

Failure to keep the barbecue clean could potentially result in the grease catching fire. In addition to posing a fire hazard, this can seriously damage the barbecue.

Do not leave the barbecue exposed to the elements outdoors or store it in a humid environment. Store the barbecue in a cool, dry place. In order to extend your barbecue’s service life and keep it in a good condition, we strongly recommend covering it whenever it will be left outside for any extended period of time, most especially during the winter months. Heavy-duty barbecue covers and other accessories are available from your local seller.

When storing the barbecue using a cover, regularly inspect the cover for condensation or mould, as this could damage the product. If necessary, dry the barbecue and inside of the lid. Mould can also form on any grease residue inside the barbecue. If this occurs, clean it with hot soapy water.
Avoid any risk of injury or death!
- Do not use the barbecue in a confined and / or habitable space e.g. houses, tents, caravans, motor homes, boats. Danger of carbon monoxide poisoning fatality.
- This product is intended exclusively for outdoor use in a well-ventilated area.
- Warning! All necessary precautions were taken when manufacturing the product to ensure that it has no sharp edges. Handle the parts carefully to avoid sharp edges. Carefully handle all parts during the assembly phase to avoid accident or injury.
- Warning! Splashes, drips or spills of burning fats, oils or food can occur when using the barbecue. Keep a sufficient distance away from any hot parts, as any contact could lead to serious burns.
- Always wear barbecue or oven gloves. Use gloves that meet the general PPE criteria for category II heat and fire protection, e.g. EN 407.
- Always use barbecue utensils with long, heat-resistant handles.
- Always watch what you are doing and act with caution. Do not use the product if you are not concentrating, are tired or are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A brief distraction whilst using the product can be all it takes to cause serious injury.
- Do not leave the barbecue unattended.
- Keep a fire extinguisher and first aid kit handy in the event of an accident or fire.
- If the barbecue has a lid with a vent: It is forbidden to use the barbecue open. This barbecue must only be used as a closed barbecue, i.e. with the lid closed.
- The barbecue must be installed on a stable, horizontal surface before use.
- To light the fire, place appropriate firelighters at the bottom of the charcoal holder and add the charcoal to the barbecue, taking care not to exceed the maximum capacity indicated for the barbecue.
- Form a pyramid to light the barbecue and when enough red embers have been obtained, distribute the charcoal in the bowl to allow for an even cooking.
- We recommend using a long match or long lighter to light the barbecue.
- The barbecue must be heated and the fuel kept glowing for at least 30 minutes before starting to cook any food.
- Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash.
- The barbecue will be hot! When using the barbecue, use heatresistant gloves, long-handled tongs or potholders.
- WARNING: Once you have finished cooking, ensure that the charcoal has been fully extinguished to prevent the risk of fire. Make sure that the bowl’s contents are cool enough to be disposed of.
- Position the product so that it is at least 1 metre away from easily flammable materials.
- Only light charcoal in an area sheltered from the wind; otherwise, the wind could cause sparks which could in turn, lead to burnsor a fire being started in the surrounding area.
- For safety reasons, never spray or pour cold water on the barbecue. The resulting steam is very likely to cause burns.
Avoid all fire risks!

The charcoal barbecue (EN 1860-1) may only be fuelled with charcoal or charcoal briquettes in accordance with EN 1860-2. Please observe the maximum quantity specified in the operating instructions.

Pay attention to your surroundings and be aware of any potential fire hazards when using the barbecue. Avoid using the barbecue during very dry periods of the year or near trees or other flammable natural materials.

Any accident and/or damage resulting from non-compliance with the above rules is your responsibility. Neither ELECTRO DEPOT nor the dealer can accept any liability for damage to the appliance or personal injury resulting from failure to observe the procedures.

Cleaning and maintenance operations must not be carried out by children.

This appliance is intended for domestic food preparation only and not for commercial or industrial use.

Remove all parts of the packaging before installation.

Check that it is complete and in good condition. If the appliance is damaged or faulty, do not use it and take it to your retailer or after-sales service centre.

WARNING: Keep packaging materials and accessories out of the reach of children. Never allow children to play with the packaging or accessories.
Disposing of your old device
This product must not be disposed of or recycled with other household waste when it reaches the end of its useful life.
The product and its packaging should be collected and recycled separately from other waste.
WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY WASTE?
Please dispose of your waste in accordance with the advice below to reduce the
impact of your new purchase on the environment.
You are legally responsible for separating the waste associated with this
product (and any accessories) so that it can be recycled, including any
instructions or/or packaging.
Keep used products and packaging out of the reach of children, as they can
pose a safety hazard.
Please retain the instructions and any other notices throughout the service
life of the device, and include these documents with the device if it is
passed on to third party.
For packaging and other notices, please refer to the recycling instructions on
the main packaging, and to the advice available on the Internet.
For the product itself, please refer to the instructions available on the
Internet.
If you do not have Internet access, please contact your local authority for
advice on how to sort and recycle your waste.
For your children’s safety, please store your old devices in a safe place
outside your home until they are collected.
WARRANTY CONDITIONS
This product is guaranteed against faults caused by defects in manufacturing
or the materials used for a period of two years, starting from the date of
purchase. This warranty does not cover defects or damage caused by failure to
install the device correctly, incorrect use of the product, or excessive wear
and tear.
