Additional instructions

  • Arrange the drawers, bins, shelves and baskets according to the loading plan in the operating instructions in order to make the most effective use of the energy supply.

  • The instructions for use including the loading plan must be followed in order to preserve the food under optimal conditions for the longest possible period, and avoid wasting food.

  • Check the compartments included in your appliance using the product information sheet attached to the instructions.

  • Food items should be stored in specific locations and separately from each other to avoid cross-contamination.

  • For the fresh food compartment:
    – Door shelves: Bottles, drinks, eggs and condiments
    – Vegetable bin/drawer: Vegetables, fruits and herbs.
Store separately – Shelves/door shelves: Other food (cheese, dairy products or leftovers)

  • For the compartment designed for highly perishable food items (Preserver), depending on the appliance:
    – Special area/Bin/Drawer: Fresh meat and fish for up to 2-3 days. Do not store fruits and vegetables that are too sensitive to cold temperatures, which can fall below zero, in this compartment.

  • For the 0-star or ice making compartment, depending on the appliance: – Ice cubes

  • Do not store carbonated drinks in the low-temperature compartments. What’s more, do not consume certain products such as sorbets when they are too cold.

  • The ice trays (ice cube trays, ice packs, etc.) must be stored in the coldest compartment for optimal results.

  • Leave the food to cool down to room temperature before placing it in the appliance. Hot food increases energy consumption by diffusing heat.

  • The recommended temperature setting in each compartment is specified in the product information sheet attached to the instructions. This setting must be observed in order to preserve food and optimal conditions.

  • The internal temperatures and energy consumption can be affected by factors such as the location of the refrigeration appliance, the ambient temperature, how full it is and how often the door(s) is/are opened. · The setting of any temperature control device may need to be changed to compensate for these factors.

  • Examples of a room for adjusting the temperature control according to the ambient temperature (°C):
    – NORMAL +24°C (± 4°C): Living room with normal heating like a kitchen
    – COLD 16°C (± 4°C): Unheated room in winter like a garage in a cold region
    – HOT 32°C (± 4°C): Non-air-conditioned room in summer in a hot region

  • Any modification of the temperature settings outside of the recommended range can shorten the shelf life of the food and leading to poor storage conditions, which could ultimately make it unfit for consumption and result in food waste.

  • Any modes, options and special characteristics (winter setting, etc.) described in the operating instructions can affect the temperature settings for a defined period of time or until the user takes action. Be careful when using these features.

  • The installation requirements of the operating instructions must be observed:
    – Optimal location

  • Do not place the appliance in direct sunlight or near a heat source such as an oven, microwave or radiator.

  • The overall operating dimensions must be evaluated. This is done by checking the dimensions as well as the minimum clearances required to open and close the appliance’s door(s).

  • The appliance must not be installed behind a locking door, a sliding door or a door with a hinge on the side opposite that of the appliance, thus preventing the appliance from fully opening.
    – Levelling

  • Do not install the appliance on a carpet or similar floor covering.

  • The feet may include adjustment screws or levelling feet to level the unit on an uneven surface.
    – Connection to the power supply network
WARNING : The appliance must be connected to a mains socket with a protective earth connection.

  • The appliance must not be connected via an extension cable or power strip.
CAUTION: Do not bend, crush or pinch the power supply cable.

  • Leave enough space behind the appliance so that it is not in direct contact with the mains socket.
DANGER: Do not connect the appliance to the mains with wet hands, as this could result in an electric shock.

  • Follow the requirements of the operating instructions, including maintenance and cleaning, as well as the maintenance and cleaning intervals, the operating conditions including the startup and shut-down procedures, the adjustment of the temperature and any of the functions specified according to the appliance.

  • If the appliance does not have auto-defrost technology, it will need to be defrosted regularly.

  • A freestanding appliance is not intended to be used as an integrated appliance, so please check the type of construction in the product information sheet on the leaflet attached to the instructions

  • If the appliance is an integrated-type product, the dimensions of the flush-mounting diagram and the additional air circulation requirements must be observed.

  • This refrigeration appliance is not suitable for freezing food.

  • Check the compartment types in the product information sheet attached to the instructions.

  • Respect the climatic class(es) of the appliance specified in the product information sheet attached to the instructions or the appliance nameplate.

    – T/Tropical: Between 16 and 43°C

  • A multi-class appliance can handle the lowest and highest temperature of all classes covered.

WARNING : Using the appliance in an ambient temperature that is outside the recommended range may lead to a variation in internal temperatures, leading to inferior performance and premature ageing.

  • The food must not be left outside the appliance for too long, especially sensitive food items such as meat or fish.
WARNING : If in any doubt about whether some food has been properly preserved, do not consume it at the risk of being contaminated as a result of the growth of bacteria.
