WOODCRAFT 77E55 Chevron Die Cut Rollerball and Fountain Pen Kit
From Setup To Sanding:
These are the supplies we suggest you have on hand to complete this pen kit:
- 12.5mm Pen Maker’s Bit Cap Blank
- 10.5mm Pen Maker’s Bit Body Blank
- 3/4 3/4 2″ Cap Blank
- 3/4 3/4 2/16″ Body Blank
- Pen Mandrel
- Chevron Die Cut Pen Bushings(151264)
- Thick CA or 5 Minute Epoxy
- Drill or Drill Press
- Sandpaper/MicroMesh
- Pen Mill Pilot Shaft 10.5mm & 31/64″
- Pen Press
- Eye & Ear Protection
- Dust Mask
Cutting& Drilling Blanks:
Note: Additional length has been added to the overall length of the blank to accommodate for squaring the ends of the blank.
Gluing Blanks to Tubes:
Rough the entire surface of the tube using 180 grit paper.
Next, using either a thick CA or 5 Minute Epoxy, apply adheSive to both the
tube and the inside of the blank. 1To secure the brass tube into the inside of
the blank make sure to rotate the tube as you insert it into the blank. This
will help ensure even coverage of the adhesive and a much more secure bond.
Squaring the Blank to Length:
When squaring the blanks to length ensure to only go to the brass. Removing
brass will affect the overall length of the blank which is critical to the
proper operation of the pen. 
Fountain Pen Kits
Turning & Finishing the Blanks:
Turn the blank to your desired profile leaving the blank slightly proud of the
bushings. With the lathe spinning, begin sanding with 120 grit paper
progressing through the finer grits finishing at 320 grit. Once finished with
sanding apply a finish of your choice.
Rollerball &Fountain Pen Cap Assembly:
Slide Clip (J) onto Finial (K) and press into one end of Finished Cap Blank
(I). Place Center Band (G) over the narrow end of Threaded Insert (H). Press
assembly into open end of Finished Cap Blank (I). Set assembled Cap aside.
Assembly is the same for both Rollerball & Fountain Pen Kits.
Rollerball & Fountain Pen Body:
- Press Blind End Coupler (E) into 485″ diameter end of Finished Body Blank (D).
- Slide Stop Ring (C) stepped end down over the Nib Coupler (B). Press assembly into .514″ diameter end of Finished
- Body Blank (D). Thread Nib (A) into Nib Coupler (B). Remove protective cap and insert Ink Refill (M) into open end of Finished Body Blank (D). Place Spring (L) small end first on top of Ink Refll (M).
- Thread End Cap (F) onto Blind End Coupler (E).
- For Fountain Pen Kits follow steps 1& 2. Install Ink Car- tridge (N) into end of Fountain Pen Nib (O) and thread into end of Nib Coupler (B).
