PRE-INSTALLATION NOTICE
- This product will not increase the load capacity of your vehicle.
- Do not exceed the manufacturer’s recommended weight limit.
- The installation process may require drilling, professional installation is recommended to ensure personal safety.
- All modifications must be installed by qualified personnel and in compliance with your local modification regulations.
INSTALLATION GUIDE
ASSEMBLING THE AIR SPRING
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
REMOVING THE JOUNCE BUMPER AND INSTALLING THE UPPER MOUNTING BRACKET
- STEP 1.
- Raise the vehicle and support it using safety stands so that the axle can be safely dropped away from the frame, and the air spring assemblies can be put into position between the axle and frame.
- STEP 2.
- Remove the jounce bumper from the frame.
- STEP 3.
- Attach the upper mounting bracket A (1 of the Air spring bag kit list) to the frame, then tighten it with a washer and a bolt.
- NOTE: The large hole of the upper mounting bracket faces the rear of the frame.
- STEP 4.
- Remove the bracket line bracket on the driver side and the emergency brake cable on the passenger side under the leaf spring.
- NOTE: If there is a hole and a slot in front of the driver side or passenger side under the leaf spring. A self-tapping bolt is required to thread in the round hole in order to mount the lower mounting bracket. Then remove the bolt.
- STEP 5.
- Repeat the same installation steps on the other side.
HIT INSTALLING THE LOWER BRACKET
- STEP 1.
- Install the brake line bracket and the lower mounting bracket 3 of the Air spring bag kit list) under the leaf spring with the hex flange bolt (15 of the Air spring bag kit list). And install the self-tapping bolt (14 of the Air spring bag kit list) on the front side of the bracket.
- STEP 2.
- Install the fastening block (4 of the Air spring bag kit list) with the lower mounting bracket to the frame, then tighten the carriage bolts with the washers and nuts.
- STEP 3.
- Repeat the same installation steps on the other side.
INSTALLING THE UPPER BRACKET AND AIR SPRING BAG
- STEP 1.
- Adjust the assembly so that the air spring is perpendicular to the bottom and top mounting brackets without twisting.
- STEP 2.
- Attach the upper mounting bracket B (2 of the Air spring bag kit list) to the previous upper mounting bracket A, then tighten the bolts with washers and nuts.
- STEP 3.
- Placing the rolling plate (5 of the Air spring bag kit list) between the bottom of the air spring bag and lower bracket. Align the three holes in order to insert the bolts. Adjust the assembly so that the air spring is perpendicular to the bottom and top mounting brackets without twisting. Then tighten the bolts with washers.
- STEP 4.
- Repeat the same installation steps on the other side.
- STEP 5.
- You may need to trim the wire harness and ABS/brake line bracket, so it doesn’t rub against anything.
INSTALLING THE AIR LINES
- STEP 1.
- Cut the air line appropriately and push the hose into the fitting, then pull back and make sure it’s locked in place.
- NOTE: The air fitting is towards the side of the tire.
- STEP 2.
- Install the inflation valve in a selected location, usually on the license plate at the rear of the vehicle.
CHECK AIR TIGHTNESS
- Put some air into the air spring bag, then spray a soapy solution on all connections and valves while checking for exiting air bubbles.
