ASSEMBLING THE AIR SPRING
REMOVING THE JOUNCE BUMPER AND PLACING THE ASSEMBLY ON THE AXLE
STEP : 1. Raise the vehicle and support it using safety stands so that
the axle can be safely dropped away from the frame, and the air spring
assemblies can be put into position between the axle and frame.
STEP : 2. Unbolt and remove the jounce bumper from the frame.
STEP : 3. Attach the upper mounting bracket A (1 of the Air spring bag
kit list) to the frame with bolts. The slotted hole goes to face towards the
inside of the truck.
STEP 4. Place the assembly on the axle.
INSTALLING THE UPPER BRACKET
STEP :1 Adjust the assembly so that the air spring is perpendicular to
the bottom and top mounting brackets without twisting.
STEP : 2 Push the axle up so that the upper mounting bracket B (2 of the
Air spring bag kit list) can be bolted to the previous bracket (1 of the Air
spring bag kit list). Then tighten the bolts with washers and nuts.
INSTALLING THE LOWER BRACKET STEP
STEP :1
Install the fastening block (4 of the Air spring bag kit list) with lower
mounting bracket to the frame, then tighten the carriage bolts with the
washers and nuts.
STEP 2. Install the lower mounting bracket with U-bolt (of the Air spring
bag kit list) to the leaf spring.
INSTALLING THE HEAT SHIELD (PASSENGER’S SIDE ONLY)
STEP 1. Install the heat shield where it is closest to the passenger’s
(right) side air spring.
NOTE:
Must slide the air line protective sleeve over the air line near the
exhaust port.
INSTALLING THE AIR LINES
STEP : 1 . Cut the air line appropriately and push the hose into the fitting, then pull back and make sure it’s locked in place.
STEP : 2. Install the inflation valve in a selected location, usually on the license plate at the rear of the vehicle.
CHECK AIR TIGHTNESS
