ASSEMBLING THE AIR SPRING
NOTE:
This spacer is required if the distance between the upper bracket and the
lower bracket is 6.75-7.5″. Otherwise, it is not required.
REMOVING THE JOUNCE BUMPER AND INSTALLING THE UPPER MOUNTING BRACKET
-
STEP1.
Raise the vehicle and support it using safety stands so that the axle can be safely dropped away from the frame, and the air spring assemblies can be put into position between the axle and frame. -
STEP2.
Remove the jounce bumper from the frame. -
STEP3.
Thread the hex flange bolt to the bottom of the frame that we just removed the jounce bumper from. Leave about a half inch between the bottom of the frame and the bolt head there. -
STEP4.
Install the upper mounting bracket, let the flange bolt pass through the keyway in the bracket, then lock the bolt to the frame. -
STEP 5.
Remove the brake line bracket under the leaf spring on both sides. Remove the plastic clip from the ABS line between the leaf spring and the wheel. -
STEP6.
Measure the distance between the bottom of the top plate and the top of the bottom plate, and if it’s between 6.75″-7.5″at the factory ride height, the spacers included in the kit will be used.
PLACING THE ASSEMBLY ON THE AXLE
STEP1.
Place the assembly on the alxe.
INSTALLING THE LOWER BRACKET

STEP2.
Place the U-bolt on the frame and through the two holes in the front ofthe upper bracket. Then tighten the bolt with two nuts. -
STEP3.
Repeat the same installation steps on the other side. -
STEP4.
You may be able to tie the wire harness and ABS line with zip tie, so it doesn’t rub against anything.
INSTALLING THE WIRING HARNESS
-
STEP1.
Insert the ABS wire into the hole of the wire harness bracket A ( 6 of the Air spring bag kit list). Attach the harness bracket A to the lower bracket. Then tighten the bolt with a washer and a nut. -
STEP2.
Insert one end of the harness bracket B ( 7 of the Air spring bag kit list) into the harness connector. Attach the other end to the ABS/brake cable connecting bracket. Then tighten the bolt with a washer and a nut.
INSTALLING THE AIR LINES
-
STEP1.
Cut the air line appropriately and push the hose into the fitting, then pull back and make sure it’s locked in place. -
STEP2.
Install the inflatable valve in a selected location, usually on the license plate at the rear of the vehicle.
