BEFORE INSTALLATION

All modifications must be installed by qualified personnel and in compliance with your local modification regulations.

Prepare OE Service Manual for the model/year of the vehicle. Refer to the manual for proper disassembly/reassembly procedures of OE and related components.

This is a high clearance crossover steering kit that upgrades the stock steering kit to get more clearance for large aftermarket diff covers and factory sway bar link mounts. It is for vehicle that lifts 2.5″ or more.

INSTRUCTIONS

01. Park the vehicle on a level surface and chock the rear wheels.
02. Jack up the front of the vehicle. Place jack stands under the frame rails and lower onto jack stands letting the front suspension hang. Remove front tires and wheels using a 19mm socket.
03. Before remove the stock steering setup, measure the toe and record as the drawing shows. Figure 1.

04. Remove the steering stabilizer from the axle. Using a 15mm socket and 18mm wrench.
05. Remove the cotter pin from passenger side tie rod end using side cutting pliers.Loosen and remove the nut on the tie rod end. Next, remove the tie rod ball joint from the knuckle.Repeat on the driver side.
06. Loosen and remove the nut of the drag link end that connects to the pitman arm. Now remove the whole steering set from the vehicle.
07. All bolts included are M16. Please check the holes on your knuckle and pitman are big enough. If not, it requires you drill out the hole to fit the M16 bolt. We suggest you remove the pitman arm from the vehicle to drill a straight hole.
08. Before install the new tie rod, adjust its length to what you measured and recorded before.
09. Install the tie rod end to the driver side knuckle using provided bolt M16270-40,2 washers DP-50173,and nylon lock nut M16*2.Keep the nut loose for final adjustment. See figure 2.

10. Install the tie rod end and the drag link end to the passenger side knuckle using provided longest bolt M162120-55,washers DP-44.5183,misalignment spacers, and lock nut. Torque the nut down to 100 foot-pounds. See figure 3.
11. Make sure the steering wheel is as straight as possible so that the pitman arm is exactly where it needs to be. Install the other end of the drag link to the pitman arm using bolt M16290-50,washers DP-50173,misalignment spacers, and lock nut. See figure 4. You can install the drag link end below or above the pitman arm depending on how much lift you have. Torque the nut down to 100 foot-pounds.

12. Now make the final adjustment by adjust the driver side knuckle and pitman arm heim joint. Once the adjustment finished, torque the nuts down to 100 foot-pounds.

13. About the steering stabilizer. It is not a must to reinstall the stock stabilizer. But if you want to reuse it, you need to buy a adopter bracket separately which is not included in our kit.
14. Put the wheels and tires on. Remove the jack and jack stands. Lower the vehicle to the ground.

AFTER INSTALLATION

An alignment by a certified alignment professional with experience in aligning lifted vehicles must be performed.

Make sure all the JAM NUTS are always being tightened. Check hardware after the first 500 miles and then every 1000 miles.

Make sure the heim joint connected to the pitman arm has plenty of working room for compression and droop as the suspension travels up and down and turns right to left.
