BEGA 88675 In Ground Luminaire
Product Information
The product is an in-ground luminaire with four-sided light sectors. It is designed for installation in compacted surfaces, paths, or floors. The luminaire is suitable for drive-over applications for vehicles with pneumatic tires, with a pressure load capacity of up to 1,000 kg (~10 kN). However, it should not be used for installation in road lanes where it may be exposed to horizontal strain due to braking, acceleration, and change of direction.
The product features a luminaire cover made of aluminium alloy, a luminaire housing made of cast stainless steel and stainless steel, and an optical lens made of silicate glass. It is equipped with a silicone gasket, a baseplate with 4 fixing holes, and a 1.8 m water-resistant connecting cable with a water stopper and a 1.2 m PVC cable conduit. The LED power supply unit has a voltage range of 220-240 V AC and a frequency range of 50-60 Hz, with a DC output voltage range of 198-264 V.
The product is classified as safety class I and has a protection class IP 67, which means it is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion. It has a pressure load capacity of 1,000 kg (~10 kN) and an impact strength of IK10. The product is also energyefficient, with light sources classified as energy efficiency class(es) D and E.
Product Usage Instructions
- Choose a suitable location for installation in compacted surfaces, paths, or floors.
- Ensure the installation area can support the pressure load capacity of up to 1,000 kg (~10 kN).
- Avoid installing the luminaire in road lanes where it may be exposed to horizontal strain.
- Prepare the installation site by creating a suitable opening or recess for the luminaire.
- Connect the luminaire to a suitable power source using the provided water-resistant connecting cable and PVC cable conduit.
- Ensure the voltage and frequency of the power source match the specifications of the LED power supply unit (220-240 V AC, 50-60 Hz).
- Securely fix the luminaire in place using the baseplate and the provided fixing holes.
- Test the functionality of the luminaire by turning on the power.
- Regularly clean and maintain the luminaire to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Safety
- The installation and operation of this luminaire are subject to national safety regulations.
- Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
- We recommend fuse protection via a residual current circuit breaker to be provided by the customer.
- The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use or installation.
- If subsequent modifications are made to the luminaire, the person responsible for these modifications shall be considered the manufacturer.
Overvoltage protection
- The electronic components installed in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547.
- To achieve an additional protection against e. g. transients, etc. we recommend separate overvoltage protection components.
- You can find them on our website at www.bega.com.
Notice prior to installation:
- To accept the maximum pressure load of 1,000 kg (~10 kN) a proper foundation must be provided by the customer.
- The pressure load is transferred onto the foundation by the luminaire housing.
- Foundation to be provided at site.
- The foundation must be carried out on firm subgrade.
- For the tightness of the luminaire it is important that the ground surface prepared later is either on the same level or slightly below top edge of the luminaire housing.
- The lacquering of the luminaire cover must not be damaged.
- Chemicals which have a corroding effect must not affect the luminaire housing.
Installation
- Luminaire housing must not be installed in heat-insulating material.
- Undo hexagon socket head screws.
- Remove front plate with glass and gasket.
- LED are high-quality electronic components!
- Please avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
- Dismantle the LED-board unit and disconnectthe connecting cable at the terminal of the LED board unit.
- Position luminaire housing on the foundation (as described above) and fix it with enclosed or any other suitable fixing material.
- At the same time note alignment to the illuminated surface.
- Push in enclosed protective cover flushly into the luminaire housing.
- The electrical connection at the luminaire connecting cable must be carried out on site according to the protection class and safety class.
- We recommend to use a distribution box 70 730 or 71 053.
- To protect the luminaire connecting cable from damage push the enclosed cable conduit over the cable.
