This appliance may be used (but not installed) by children aged 12 and over, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or a lack of suffi cient experience and/or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been trained in the safe use of the appliance and understand the potential dangers.
Cleaning and maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision. Children must not be allowed to play with the appliance. Keep the packaging material away from children. There is a risk of suff ocation!

Main use cautions before first use of the smart power plug
– Make sure the cables cannot cause a trip hazard.
– This device is intended for inside use.
– This is not a toy, keep it away from small children below 12 years!
– Do not open or disassemble the device yourself, this will void the warranty at all times.
– Do not repair or modify the product by yourself as this may result into an electric shock.
– The led source is not replaceable.
– Do not throw this product in the air to avoid damage caused by falling.
– Only use the device for its intended designed use.
– Take good care of the product and clean it regularly.
– Never touch the plug contacts with sharp or metal objects.
– Use only the original supply and original accessories.
– Protect the device from special liquids and vapors.

Installation

Before you begin
Make sure your mobile device is running iOS 9 or higher or Android 5 or higher. Verify your Wi-Fi network/name and ensure your mobile device is connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network/name/router (5.0 GHz Networks are NOT supported!).
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the smart plug is set up, placed and covered inside the same Wi-Fi network as the router and mobile device during the 1st setup!
Download the Tuya Smart App
Search for ‘TUYA SMART’ in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store and download the application.
Register / Login / Profile

  1. Open the Tuya Smart application.
  2. Tap ‘agree’ to confirm the privacy policy.
  3. To register, please enter your mobile phone numer or email address.
  4. Press ‘verification code retrieval’
  5.  Enter the verification code that was sent to your phone number or email address.
  6. Create a password and login for the new app user. If you already have an existing account, please go to Login.

Setup your smart power plug

Please place the smart power adapter into the wall outlet. Please make sure the main power has been switched on. Make sure you have your Wi-Fi password available.FlinQ FQC8254 2 Pack Smart Power Plug - fig

  1. Open the app
    Please open the Tuya Smart application from your device.

  2. Add the device
    Select ‘Add Device’ or the ‘+’ sign and make sure the Wi-Fi led ON/ OFF push button light is fl ashing rapidly.

  3. Select product type
    Select your product type via the electra section tab. Please select the ‘Plug (BLE+Wi-Fi)’.

  4. Follow instructions
    Now follow the instructions within the application during connection and confi guration

  5. Installation complete
    Nice! You are now ready to use the FlinQ Smart Power Plug. You can use your mobile phone or tablet to control your device by selecting the timerfunction, a countdown and the energy use.

  6. Device added to the list
    After the device has been connected succesfully, please tap ‘My family or devices’ at the bottom of your app screen and the device name will be shown in the list.

  7. Google Home & Amazon Alexa
    To control your device by using your voice via a smart speaker, please refer to the manufacturers instructions manual on how to enable a voice command through your device.

Reset if necessary

In case your Wi-Fi indicator does not flash rapidly, please follow the steps below:  FlinQ FQC8254 2 Pack Smart Power Plug - fig 4

  1. Power on and off
    Please power ON the device and then power OFF the device after 10 sec. Now wait for 5 seconds (minimum) to power ON again.

  2. Press long on power button
    If the Wi-Fi light is not flashing as described earlier, please long press the device Wi-Fi Led ON/ OFF button for 5-10 seconds until it flashes correctly.FlinQ FQC8254 2 Pack Smart Power Plug - fig

  3. Indicator flash quickly?
    Please confi rm the indicator light is now fl ashing quickly. Now press the ‘confi rm indicator rapidly blinking’ button in the application.

  4. Follow installation steps
    Follow steps 2, 3, 4 and 5 until the Wi-Fi led light fl ashes.

Setup voice assistance

Google Assistant

  1. Open the Google Home application.
  2. Select the ‘profi le/face’-button.
  3. Select ‘more settings’ under the section ‘Google assistant’ and then go to the tab ‘assistant’ in the top of the screen and select ‘home control’.
  4. Select ‘+’ on the right hand side
  5. Search for ‘TUYA SMART’ in the search bar or select it in the list when scroll down.
  6. Follow the instructions to establish the connection link and use your Tuya password and login when requested during the set-up process.
  7. Now you are ready to use Google Voice Assistant.

Amazon Alexa

  1. Open the Amazon Alexa application.
  2. Select ‘Skills & Games’ from the menu.
  3. Search for ‘TUYA SMART’ and select ‘Enable to use’.
  4. Follow the instructions to establish the connection link and use your Tuya password and login when requested during the set-up process.
  5. Now you are ready to use Amazon Alexa.

Note: Once the Smart Power Plug has been fully set up, turning the switch off and on multiple times in a row may cause the smart plug to go back into reset mode. If this happens, please delete the Smart Power Plug from the app and re-add it normally as described above.
Notes
– Never connect several wifi smart plugs in series!
– Make sure the WIFI networks are 2.4Ghz only during the setup.
– The WIFI authorization method should be set as WPA2-PSK and Encryption type as AES or set both at AUTO.
– Router wireless cannot be set as 802.11N.
– If any problems, please restore the plug and set it up again from start!
– For Google Assistant and Alexa; if these cannot be found, try to disable the TUYA function or the home skill app (for Alexa).
– If you need to fully RESET the Smart Power Plug follow the RESET instructions in the TUYA app or the FAQ.
– Do not open or dismantle the Smart Power Plug yourself.
– This smart power plug is not waterproof! ONLY INDOOR USE!
– Make sure you do not exceed the total power capacity (16A) from the smart plug with the used appliances/devices!
– Only use this smart power plug with earthed power outlets and not with extension cables.
– Do not use with appliances that could cause any fire in unattended use (like irons etc).
– This smart power plug does not have any safety disconnection.
– Any other use as the intended way for this smart power plug is not validated for any warranty or liability.
– This smart power plug can only be used for private use.

Safety instructions

When using electronical product, the following precautions must be followed:
– This IP20 product is suitable for indoor use only.
– Do not install this product near a gas station, electric radiator, fireplace, candles, or other sources with a similar heat.
– Damage from this housing/device can cause explosion and/or fire.
– Do not staple, nail, or hook the power cable.
– Never touch the plug contacts with sharp or metal objects.
– Do not hang the Smart plug only by the electric cables.
– To avoid the risk of fire, burns, injuries or electric shock, the smart power plug should not be left within the reach of children.
– Do not use the product outside its intended use.
– Do not hang ornaments or other objects on the products.
– Do not close windows and doors on the power plug so as not to damage the insulation.
– Do not cover the product with a material (paper, cloth, etc.) that is not part of the product when in use.
– Read and follow all instructions that are indicated on the product or supplied with it.
– Keep this manual for future reference.

Instructions for use and maintenance

Before (re)use of this product, the product should be inspected with care. Discard all products that have a damaged or frayed power cable, that have cracked or damaged bulbs. Discard all connection boxes that have been loosened or products that have exposed copper wires. In case of non-use, store the product in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
Help – The power plug does not work
Please make sure the smart power plug is plugged into a proper outlet (110V- 240V). In case of non-functioning, please follow the reset steps as mentioned earlier in this manual. No other timers can be used than just the use via the Tuya Smart application.

Safety directive

This product is designed, produced and tested in accordance with the strictest European safety directives and test standards. Protection Class II Equipment: This is a class II device and can be used without protective conductor necessary for safe operation. When using electrical products, certain precautions must be followed, including the following:
A. Use with caution at all times.
B. Product specifications are subject to change without notice.
C. If you disassemble the device without authorization, FlinQ cannot guarantee the quality.

Cleaning the device

– When you need to clean and maintain this product, be sure to disconnect the power supply and smart plug.
– Make sure the device is kept dust free and clean. Clean it regularly with a dry anti-static lint free cloth and with warm, soapy water but make sure that no water liquid can enter the lamp luminaire. Dry the device before turning it ON again.
– Please do not immerse the main unit in water, it is not waterproof!
– Wipe gently with a clean soft cloth (microfiber) dampened with water or a mild detergent.
– Do not use a strong aggressive/irritant lotion such as gasoline, alcohol, cleaning agents or rubber water.

Waste electrical & electronic equipment
Disposal Information
Separate collection. This means the product must not be discarded with the general household waste. There is a separate collection system for these products. WEEE, the waste electrical and electronic equipment directive 2012/19/EU: This marking shown on the product or its literature, indicates that it should not be disposed with other household wastes at the end of its working life. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, please separate this from other types of wastes and recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. Household user should contact either the retailer where they purchased this product or their local government office for details of where and how they can take this item for environmentally safe recycling. Business users should contact their supplier and check the terms and conditions of the purchase contract. This product should not be mixed with other commercial wastes for disposal. Do not dispose of batteries in your household waste. Dispose of this product and/or batteries by taking them to your local recycling store or station for free, contact your local government office for more details. If possible please dispose the batteries separately as stated by law and let it be recycled separately or give it at your local sales store/distributor/dealer that dispose it correctly and free of charge at all times. Warranty
