ALPHA MIL 2.0 Antenna
DESCRIPTION
The MIL 2.0 Antenna is a multi-purpose portable HF system rated at 250W PEP SSB, 125W CW, or 25W digital modes.
DEPLOYMENTS
Tripod/Mast
- Remove the spike from the mount and install the mount on a tripod or mast of less than 1.25” O.D.
- Install the Match on the Mount, then the 8’ wire on the Ground and the 25’ wire on top NVIS of the.
- Install the MIL 2.0 whip on top of the Match.
- Deploy your mast or tripod to at a height of 5 feet or more. (Higher enhances DX and lower NVIS.)
- Pull the 8’ & 25’ elements out in opposite directions so they are not laying on the ground,then press their stakes into the soil. Take care to ensure that they do not run above the coax.
NOTE – Signal will launch away from NVIS element.
Standing L
- Press Spike & Mount into the soil.
- Screw the match onto the mount.
- Install the 25’ wire element onto top NVIS of the Match.
- Install the MIL 2.0 whip on top of the match.
- Pull the wire element tight and press its stake into the soil.
Manpack
- Install the 25′ wire on the bottom of the match to the Ground bolt.
- Deploy the 25′ wire out any hole on the bag so it is trailing behind.
- Install whip on top of the match and deploy it from hole by sling.
*Connect a user-supplied 60-foot-long wire to the top of the match for the following configurations:**
- LoG (Loop on Ground) – Lay the wire element in a semi-square shape on the ground for a low noise receive antenna.
- Vertical Loop or Horizontal Loop – Use optional supports to deploy the wire element into a semi-square shape.
- EFHW Dipole – Deploy the wire element either sloped or horizontally.
- Directionally sloped – Deploy the wire element and slope it in the direction you want your signal to go.
- End-fed Inverted L or Inverted V – Deploy the 60’ wire in an Inverted L or V shape using optional supports.
The vertical and the 25’ wire element are not to be used when your optional 60-foot wire element is used.
