Locking Connector

BREAKER OR FUSE AND TEST THAT POWER IS OFF BEFORE WIRING
CAUTIONS :TO BE INSTALLED AND/OR USED IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPROPRIATE
ELECTRICAL CODES AND REGULATIONS.
- IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT ANY PART OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS, CONSULT AN ELECTRICIAN.
- USE THIS DEVICE ONLY WITH COPPER WIRE.
- ENSURE THAT LOCKING FLANGED INLET HAS THE PROPER ELECTRICAL RATING FOR THE SYSTEM ON WHICH IT IS BEING INSTALLED.
- DEVICES ARE FOR GROUNDING CIRCUITS, OR EQUIPMENT GROUNDING ONLY. DO NOT USE IN NON-GROUNDING APPLICATIONS.
- THE ENCLOSURE USED TO INSTALL THE LOCKING FLANGED INLET MUST BE APPROPRIATE FOR THE LOCATION BEING SERVED (DRY, WET, DAMP).
NOTE : WIRE SIZE AND TYPE MUST COMPLY WITH APPROPRIATE LOCAL ELECTRICAL
CODES. IN USA REFER TO NEC TABLES ARTICLE 400.
NOTE : LEVITON’S LOCKING FLANGED INLETS ARE DESIGNED TO ACCEPT WIRES FROM
10 AWG TO #4 AWG.
TO INSTALL
- WARNING : TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER OR FUSE AND TEST THAT POWER IS OFF BEFORE WIRING!
- Strip insulation of each conductor 3/4″ (19.1 mm) per STRIP GAGE molded on the back cover of the Flanged Inlet.
- Make sure that stripped wire is clean, and of a bright copper color. If necessary, twist strands of each stripped conductor tightly. DO NOT TIN CONDUCTORS.
- NOTE : DO NOT LOOSEN TERMINAL SCREWS.
- Insert each stripped conductor into proper wiring well per Table 1, and per markings on device. Check for stray wire strands.
- Tighten each terminal to 35 in-lb of torque, using a 5/32″ Allen wrench. CAUTION: TERMINAL MUST TIGHTEN ONTO CONDUCTORS, NOT INSULATION.
- Mount Locking Flanged Inlet on panel cut-out per Figure 1.
