Adjust the resolution after entering desktop mode to achieve 4K output when connecting your Steam Deck to the Docking Station.
-
DO NOT use HDMI to display port cables or adapters.
-
When using an HDMI Switch (preferably 8K), ensure that the HDMI cables at both ends do not exceed 6.6 feet.
-
It is recommended to connect your Power Adapter (45W and above) while docking your Steam Deck to ensure stable video output and external device operation.
-
High image quality in resource-intensive games can strain the Steam Deck. Adjust game graphics settings to reduce latency for external devices during gameplay.

FAQ
1. How do I ensure the output is 4K@60Hz?
Use an HDMI to HDMI 2.0/2.1 cable no more than 4.5m in length and use as few cable adapters as possible. Manually debug your steam deck into desktop mode and set 4K@60Hz output. You also need to set it in-game if necessary.
2. Why do external devices such as mouse and keyboard not work well when docking?
When docking your Steam Deck, ensure you connect your power adapter to provide sufficient power supply.
3. Why does the Ethernet not work?
After the SteamOS is upgraded, you need to manually enter the desktop mode and connect the wired network. Turn off Wi-Fi or set the wired connection priority.
4. Why does the TV not recognize my sound bar and deactivate the CEC device?
In the Steam settings, click Audio → External Devices, now the audio can be transmitted to the TV.
5. Does the dock output video over USB-C port?
No, the USB-C port is for power delivery only.
