length of the stem and the angle of the search coil.
Adjusting the Stem
- Turn the stem’s locknut clockwise until it loosens.
- Adjust the length of the stem so that you can walk comfortably with the search coil at an optimal distance of around 1- 5cm above the ground.
- Retighten the stem’s lock nut counterclockwise to lock it in place.
Adjusting the Search Coil
- Loosen the knobs at the search coil and rotate the coil angle until it is parallel with the ground.
- Tighten the knobs just enough to keep the search coil from rotating or wobbling.
Installing the Battery
-
Loosen the screw with a screwdriver, then remove the battery compartment cover.
-
Identify the polarities of a 9-volt battery and the polarities marked inside the compartment. Insert the battery into the compartment in the same direction as indicated by the marks and replace the compartment cover.

Hints for Searching
- The detector uses motion detection. To find metal targets, you must either move the coil or move the metal sample above the coil.
- Sweep the search coil in a side-to-side motion.
- Take your time. Walking too fast may cause you to miss a target. Never sweep the search coil as if it were a pendulum.
Rules to be Observed
- Always obtain permission before searching any site.
- Respect the rights and property of others.
- Observe all national, state, and local laws while treasure hunting.
- Never destroy historical or archaeological treasures. If you are unsure about an object you have found, contact a museum or historical society in your area.
- Leave the land and vegetation as it was. Fill in any holes you dig.
CLEANING & CARE
- The search coil pad is waterproof and can be submerged in either fresh or salt water. However, do not let water enter the handle. After using the search coil in salt water, rinse it with fresh water to prevent corrosion of the metal components.
- Never attempt to recharge the non-rechargeable battery.
- Remove the exhausted battery to avoid leaking.
- Handle the detector gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage the circuit board and cases and can cause the detector to work improperly.
