PRODUCT USE
BEFORE COMMISSIONING
ATTENTION: The gun cannot be used for paints such as textured paints for
exterior walls, materials containing abrasive substances, enamels, dispersion
paints, caustic and alkaline substances or textured coatings. To get the best
results from your spray gun, read the instructions carefully before use.
PREPARATION OF THE COATING MATERIAL
The paints need a previous dilution to be able to use it in the spray gun. The
following information indicates the recommended dilutions for paints according
to their viscosity. (viscosity = consistency of material).
VISCOSITY CHART
COATING MATERIAL | TIME IN SECONDS |
---|---|
2-component paint | 20-50 |
Transparent sealer | Undiluted |
Mordant | Undiluted |
Oil painting | 20-80 |
Oil-based primer | 20-50 |
Oil-based enamel | 20-60 |
Oil dye | Undiluted |
Polyurethane | Undiluted |
Primer | 20-50 |
Glossy paint with solvent | 20-50 |
Varnish | 20-50 |
Water-Based Paint | 20-80 |
Wood preservative | Undiluted |
VISCOSITY MEASUREMENT
Use the measuring cup to determine the viscosity grade of the coating
material.
- Mix the coating material well before starting the measurement.
- Immerse the viscosity measuring cup (content 100cm3) completely in the coating material underneath the cup.
- Lift the viscosity measuring cup and measure the time it takes for the cup to empty in seconds.
COMMISSIONING
AIR HOSE CONNECTION
- Connect the air hose to the end of the mobile base. Align the tongue with the groove on the movable base. Secure by turning counterclockwise.
- Connect the other end of the air hose to the gun. Align the tab with the slot in the gun. Secure by turning counterclockwise.
- Unscrew the paint can from the spray gun.
- Adjust the suction tube properly. It should be possible to spray the contents of the paint can leaving little paint in the paint can.
SPRAYING
HORIZONTAL AND OVERHEAD OBJECTS
- Rotate the suction tube inside the container pointing towards the front of the gun.
- Rotate the suction tube so that it points backwards, as the suction tube must point towards the back of the spray gun to expel the entire contents.
FILLING THE PAINT CAN
- While filling the can with paint, filter the paint through a piece of nylon stocking or a funnel that incorporates a filter to remove any lumps or particles. Do not overfill.
- Screw the canister onto the spray gun making sure it is securely fastened.
CONNECTION
- Place the spray gun on the mobile stand of the machine base to transport it to the job site.
- Unwind the connecting cable. Insert the plug into the outlet and turn it on.
- Remove the spray gun from the gun holder on the mobile base and point it at a piece of cardboard or newspaper. Switch on the machine with the ON/OFF switch on the mobile base.
NOTE: When the mobile base is connected, air flows continuously from the air cap.
ADJUSTING THE SPRAY GUN
- Squeeze the trigger while pointing the gun at a piece of cardboard or scrap material and wait for the spray to come out.
- Turn the sprayer control dial to the desired position for optimal results.
NOTE: The spray control dial is a stop that limits the distance at which the trigger can be pulled.
CHOICE OF SPRAY TYPE
To select the spray type (b), with the air cap loosened (a), rotate the air
nozzle to the desired spray pattern.
TYPES OF SPRAYING
A = vertical sprinkler – for horizontal surfaces
B = horizontal sprinkler – for vertical surfaces
C = round sprinkler – for corners, edges and other hard-to-reach places.
SPRAYING TECHNOLOGY
ATTENTION: The surface must be carefully prepared and kept free of dust.
Surfaces and parts that are not to be sprayed should be masked by covering
them with masking tape and newspaper.” Always keep the spray gun at an even
distance from the object to be sprayed. The distance will vary depending on
the type of paint being sprayed, it is suggested to start with 20 cm and
adjust if necessary. Depending on the set spray effect, move the spray gun
evenly upwards or downwards.
The movement of the spray gun should be by the arm and not by the wrist to
ensure that the space between the gun and the surface remains the same
throughout the operation.
The uneven movement of the pistol gives an uneven surface quality. A uniform movement of the spray gun provides a uniform surface quality.
If the coating material accumulates in the nozzle (b) and air cap (a). Remove the air cap nut and air cap (a). Clean both parts and around the nozzle (b) with solvent or water with a stiff brush. If the nozzle (b) is blocked, it can be removed with a 9 mm open-end wrench, carefully unscrew it from the paint head. Clean nozzle (b) and remove any accumulated paint. Be careful not to damage the nozzle (b), as this will affect the performance of the gun.
MAINTENANCE
Good maintenance will extend the life of the machine. Prolonged or constant
use may require more intensive maintenance for the machine to continue to
function properly.
ATTENTION: Make sure the machine is completely turned off before
performing any maintenance or repairs. This will eliminate any potential
risks.
CLEANING AFTER EACH USE
-
Turn off the device. Open the trigger to bring the spray gun coating back into the container.
-
Unscrew the container. Return the remaining material to the material container.
-
Clean container. Remove the suction tube by turning it counterclockwise and gently pull it away from the paint head.
Disassemble the suction tube for cleaning by turning it clockwise and pulling to disassemble. -
Clean the 3 holes in the suction pipe, if blocked, with the cleaning needle supplied. If these holes are partially blocked, the result will be uneven and inconsistent spraying.
-
Thoroughly clean the suction pipe with water or solvent before reassembling.
-
Replace the suction tube and fill the container with solvent or water.
-
Screw the container into place. Turn on the device and spray the solvent or water into a container.
-
Repeat the above procedure until water or clear solvent comes out of the nozzle.
NOTE: Only use a solvent with a flash point above 21°C. -
Turn off the device.
-
Then empty the container completely. Always keep the closure of the container free of liner material and check for damage.
-
If the gun casing requires cleaning, immerse a cloth in the solvent or water, making sure the cloth does not leak, clean the outside of the spray gun.
-
Unscrew the nut from the air cap. Remove the air cap. Clean the air cap and nozzle with a brush and solvent or water.
-
Before storing the Mobile Paint Unit, make sure it is completely dry. This will minimize the accumulation of waste for the next use.
CLEANING THE PISTON OF THE PISTOL
If the paint has dried in the paint head or the spray gun has had a lot of
use, removing, cleaning or replacing the plunger can restore the original
performance of the spray gun.
To clean the plunger:
- Remove the air hose from the spray gun. Carefully unscrew the piston from the pistol with an 8 mm sleeve (not supplied) and remove it from the back of the pistol.
- Clean plunger and spray gun assembly, remove paint with clear solvent or water.
- After cleaning, reassemble the plunger in the correct order and place it on the back of the spray gun.
