General Product Application
General product application requirements (if applicable):
-
CCT or POWER selections (where supplied) – IMPORTANT, where CCT color temperature or POWER selection switching is provided, it is important to switch OFF the power before the selection is made, otherwise equipment damage may occur.
-
Recycling – SAL encourages recycling, please consider the environment when disposing of packaging, batteries & components.
-
Switching or test intervals – For optimum product performance, good design practice does not encourage the 24/7 operation of lighting products without the provision of a routine switching or regulatory test cycle. As a guide for continual operation installations, a twelve (12) hour duration for Industrial and Commercial applications and a six (6) hour duration for Residential applications should be considered.
-
Product maintenance – In line with the relevant design standards and to protect your investment, it is important to have in place a routine cleaning program that reflects the installation environment and maintains the product in a clean and functional condition.
- IMPORTANT – The supply must be isolated before any product maintenance or cleaning is conducted. In addition, damage to ANY cable or cord supplied with the product must be addressed as follows; For attachment type X having a specially prepared cable, if the external flexible cable is damaged, it must be replaced by an equivalent cable exclusively available from the manufacturer or authorised installer. For attachment type Y, if the external flexible cable is damaged, it must be exclusively replaced by an equivalent cable by the manufacturer or authorized installer. For attachment type Z, if the external flexible cable is damaged, the cable cannot be replaced and the luminaire must be destroyed.
-
Adverse, corrosive, and coastal installation environments – Unless the product is specifically designated for such applications in these installation instructions, which is supported by a professional maintenance program; installation of equipment in such environments is not recommended.
-
Dimming products – Dimming circuits and product compatibility must be validated by the installer before installation; SAL cannot be responsible for third-party changes in dimmer compatibility.
-
Suspended Products – For installation safety, any suspended products must NOT be installed in high-air movement spaces or locations subject to impact.
-
Light source replacements – (Non-replaceable light sources) – The light source of the product is deemed not replaceable, when the product reaches its end of life, the complete product must be replaced by a qualified installer. (Non-user replaceable light sources) – The light source of the product must only be replaced by the manufacturer or qualified installer. Caution, risk of electric shock.
-
Interior downlights and sensors with remote drivers and electrical accessories – The mounting facilities provided for the device (if any), need only be utilized if the application of the product is required by AS/NZS3000. Drivers are not designed for installation environments that restrict conventional airflow.
-
Ripple injection, induced flicker (QLD & NSW regions) – Installations subject to off-peak ripple-induced flicker, (which is beyond the manufacturer’s control), should strongly consider the use of circuit filtering products, or for interior downlight installations, the use of products designed to block the signal interferences, such as the SAL SFI series.
-
Floodlight products – Unless nominated aiming restrictions or installation parameters apply, products are designed for installation environments between ground and
15 meters in height, subject to the desired optical performance being achieved. For floodlight installation environments that have restricted access (eg: columns and roof lines) and are subject to the unstable electrical supply or electrical surges (which void warranty), consideration of the installation of an independent surge protector is strongly recommended. -
Emergency-enabled products – In the interest of transport and safety, emergency products are supplied with the battery disconnected. In addition to specific emergency commissioning instructions, this battery MUST be connected at the time of installation. Continual use in emergency mode greater than 240 hours without recharge, will result in battery failure and void battery warranty.
-
Specific installation procedures (if any) – this device must be installed by a licensed electrician:
Specifications Settings
Specifications settings – (TC/C model)
- S1, S2 – set sensitivity;
- S3, S4 – set time;
- S5, S6 – set the lux threshold;
- S7, S8 – set standby brightness level;
- S9, S10 – hold standby period
Reach setting (sensitivity)
Reach is the term used to describe the radii of the more or less circular
detection zone produced on the ground after mounting the sensor light at a
height of 2.5m, switch to the on is “1 “, switch to the off is “0”; The
corresponding file of switch location and detection distance as follows:
NOTE: The above detection distance is measured using a person who is between 1.6m-1. 7m tall with an average build, moving at a speed of 1.0-1.5m/sec. If any of these variables are changed, the detection distance will also resultantly a change.
Hold time, brightness 100%
The time can be set 10s to 12min. Any movement detected before this time
elapses will re-start the timer. It is recommended to select the shortest lime
for adjusting the detection zone and for performing the walk test. Switch to
ON is “1 “, switch to OFF is “0”; The corresponding switch locations and
detection distances as follows:
NOTE: After the light switches OFF, it takes approx. 1sec before it is able to start detecting movement again. The light will only switch on in response to movement once this period has elapsed.
Lux level – threshold
The light threshold can be set from approx. 10lux-50Iux. switch to ON is “1 “,
switch to OFF is “0”; the corresponding switch locations and detection levels
are as follow:
Standby level setting
Switch to ON is “1 “, switch to OFF is “0”; the corresponding switch locations
Hold time, standby period
The switch locations and detection distances are as follows:
Specifications settings – (TC/S model)
- Max power: 1200W
- Time delay: 10 – 30 s e c
- Detection angle: 360°
- Light level: 10-2000 LUX
Installation height and detection range at 2.5hm
Detection range (1-10m)
- This range is the radius of the approximate circular detection area that appears on the ground when it is installed at a height of 2.5 meters (radius).
- NOTE: The detection distance value is measured by a human body with a height of 1.7 m, medium body shape, and a walking speed of 1.0~1.5 m/s.
- If the height, shape, or walking speed of the user changes, the sensing distance will also change.
Delay time 10-30 sec
The time delay can be set from 10 seconds (full counterclockwise) to 30 minutes (full clockwise) before the time expires. When turning the dial to set the time, the time will restart when a motion signal is detected. It is recommended to choose the shortest time when adjusting the detection range or walking test. The light will flash accordingly, and different times of flashes correspond to different times.
NOTE:
- The load will not illuminate until – warm-up has elapsed (4 seconds) ,
- rotation to set the delay time – 1 = 10sec, 2 = 1min, 3 = 2min, 4 = 5min, 6 = 10min, 7 = 15min, 8 = 20min, 9=25min, 10=30min.
lux threshold setting
- The working illumination value can be adjusted in the range of 10 – 2000 LUX.
- The working illuminance value is approximately 10LUX when it is turned fully counterclockwise and the working illuminance value is approximately 2000LUX when it is turned fully clockwise.
- This dial must be turned fully clockwise when the walking test or adjusting the detection area during the day.
