USERS

• This product has been designed to be handled by users of legal age who have read and understood these instructions. Do not allow underage persons or persons who do not understand these instructions to use the product.
• Before using this product, familiarize yourself with it. Make sure you know where all the controls are, the safety devices and how they should be used.
• If you are an inexperienced user we recommend that you practice doing simple work and, if possible, in the company of an experienced person.

PERSONAL SAFETY

• Do not force this machine. Use this machine, accessories, tools, etc. in accordance with these instructions taking into account the conditions and work to be performed. Using this machine for other than its intended purpose may cause a hazardous situation.
• Be alert, watch what you are doing when operating this machine.
• Do not use this machine when you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
• Avoid inhalation of exhaust gases. This machine produces dangerous gases such as carbon monoxide that can cause dizziness, fainting or death.
• Check that all safety features are installed and in good condition. Do not use this machine if any of its components are damaged.
• Always maintain proper foot support and balance at all times. Be careful when working or moving with the machine on slopes and be especially careful when changing direction on a slope. Do not use this machine on slopes higher than 15°.
• Always hold the machine by the handles with both hands and always place your body behind it.
• Before starting work on the machine, check that the burs are not in contact with any objects and that they can move freely.
• Keep all body parts away from cutting elements and moving parts when the machine is running.
• Do not touch any of the engine components while the machine is running or just after it has stopped due to the high temperatures it reaches.
• Do not operate the machine in rainy or extremely humid conditions.
• Do not leave this machine unattended during operation.

WORKWEAR

• Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry that may get caught in moving parts. We recommend the use of:
  • Eye protection (safety glasses).
  • Hearing protection.
  • Head and face protection (helmet and mask).
  • Hand protection (resistant and non-slip gloves).
  • Foot protection (non-slip safety footwear).

VIBRATIONS

• A high level of vibration and long periods of exposure are the factors contributing to white finger disease (Raynaud’s phenomenon). In order to reduce the risk of white finger disease, you need to be aware of these recommendations:
  • Always wear gloves.
  • Worry about always keeping your hands warm.
  • Make sure that the chain is always sharp.
  • Take frequent breaks.
  • Always hold the machine firmly by the handles.
• If you notice any of the symptoms of white finger disease, see your doctor immediately.

WORK AREA SAFETY

•  Do not use the machine at extreme temperatures.
• Keep the machine away from excessive moisture.
• Do not use this machine in explosive atmospheres in the presence of flammable liquids, gases and dust.
• Never start the machine in a closed room or enclosure. Exhaust gases and fuel vapors contain carbon monoxide and hazardous chemicals.
• Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered, dark areas can cause accidents.
• Remove all objects from the work area before starting this machine. Objects in the vicinity of the product may be touched and projected by the machine causing personal injury.
• Do not use this machine in areas where there may be buried wiring or pipes.
• Keep children, people or animals away while operating this machine.
• When the work is done simultaneously by two or more people, always check the location of the others and keep a sufficient distance to ensure safety.
• Remember that the machine operator is responsible for hazards and accidents caused to other people or things. The manufacturer is in no way liable for damage caused by improper or incorrect use of this machine.

FUEL SAFETY

• Fuel and oil are dangerous. Do not inhale or ingest. If you swallow fuel and/or oil, seek medical advice promptly. If it comes into contact with fuel or oil, clean with plenty of soap and water immediately. If irritated eyes or skin are present, consult a doctor as soon as possible.
• Do not refuel in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas. Fuel and oil vapors contain dangerous chemicals.
• Fuel and oil are dangerous and highly flammable chemicals. Do not bring flames, sparks or heat sources close to the machine. Do not smoke while transporting fuel, filling the tank or while working. In case of fire, extinguish the fire with a dry powder extinguisher.
• Always turn off the engine before refuelling.
• Always refuel in well-ventilated areas and never with the engine running, or hot.
• If a fuel leak is found, do not start or run the engine until the leak has been repaired.
• Make sure the fuel cap is properly closed.
• Fuel stored in the carburetor for long periods of time can cause a hard start and increase repairs and maintenance of the machine.
• Always store fuel in approved containers. Do not use stored fuel for more than 2 months, it will make starting more difficult and produce unsatisfactory engine performance.

MAINTENANCE, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE SAFETY

• Do not modify product controls.
• Check regularly for broken parts or other conditions that may affect the correct operation of the machine.
• Only replace worn or damaged parts immediately with original spare parts.
• Carry out regular maintenance on the machine. Do not attempt any maintenance or repair work not described in this instruction manual. We recommend that maintenance and repairs not described in this manual be performed by an Official Service Facility.
• Always clean the machine, especially the fuel tank, its surroundings and the air filter, of dust and dirt after finishing work.
• Turn off the machine and disconnect the spark plug before making any adjustments, filling up, changing accessories, servicing, transporting or storing this machine.
• Keep the handles of this machine dry and clean.
• If the machine starts to vibrate strangely, turn it off and examine it for the cause. If you do not see the reason, take your machine to the Official Technical Service.
• Reduce the engine speed when turning off the engine. If the engine is equipped with a fuel shut-off valve, use it when the engine has stopped.
• To avoid burns or fire hazards, allow the equipment to cool completely before transporting or storing.
• When transporting the product, ensure that the engine is stopped and that the machine is properly secured toB prevent it from tipping over, spilling fuel or becoming damaged.
• The equipment is not weatherproof, and should not be stored in direct sunlight, high ambient temperatures, or in damp or wet locations.
• Store the product out of the reach of children.

ASSEMBLY

The power tiller comes fully assembled except for a few parts. The following instructions will help you mount and adjust the handlebars, cable tension and handlebar height. You will need two 9/16” wrenches to complete the assembly.
NOTE: The product leaves the factory without oil. You must add it before starting the engine.
STEP 1: INSTALLING THE DEPTH SETTING DEVICE

1. Install the depth adjuster at the top of the depth adjuster bracket with the handle facing backwards.
2. Insert the depth adjuster pin through the bracket making sure the hole in the top is free.

STEP 2: ATTACH THE BRACKET AND HANDLEBAR ANCHOR

1. The bracket is placed on the outside of the transmission cover and should align the lower tubes.
2. Insert one 3/8”-16×1” screw each for each side of the bottom holes.
3. Put the 3/8”-16 nuts on each screw.
4. Insert a 3/8”-16×1” screw on each side into the upper holes of the handlebar at the desired height.
5. Tighten all nuts.

STEP 3: POSITION THE HANDLEBARS YOU ARE GOING TO WORK WITH

1. Insert four solidity screws into each hole.
2. Fit four nuts.
3. Tighten all nuts

STEP 4: FILL THE ENGINE CRANKCASE
NOTE: The engine comes without oil. Oil must be added before starting the engine.

1. Add the oil. Do not overfill. Use clean oils and high quality detergent. Do not mix oil with gasoline. The oil level must be full. Check the oil level by removing the filler cap.
2. Always check the oil level before starting the engine. Refer to the “technical characteristics” section for the capacity and type of oil to be used.

STEP 5: FILL THE TRANSMISSION HOUSING.

1. Add oil through the top opening making sure the amount is as specified in the manual. Use clean oils and high quality detergent. Do not mix oil with gasoline. The oil level has to be full. Check the oil level by removing the filler cap and observing that the transmission oil covers the inner metal gear.
2. Always check the oil level before starting the engine. Refer to the “technical characteristics” section for the capacity and type of oil to be used.

USING THE PRODUCT

INSPECTION BEFORE YOU BEGIN

1. Make sure the safety cover is in place and that all nuts and bolts are secure.
2. Check the oil level in the engine crankcase.
3. Check that the air is clean.
4. See the fuel supply. Fill the fuel tank at a safe distance from the top of the tank to provide space for fuel expansion.
5. Make sure the spark plug wire and spark plug are tightened securely.
6. Check the position of the wheels and the locking of the wheels.
7. Check the position of the regulator depth lever.
8. Check under and around the engine for signs of fuel leaks.
9. Inspect the fuel lines.
10. Check for signs of engine damage.
11. Remove dirt from the area of the muffler and starter handle.

START-UP AND SHUTDOWN

The controls required to start the power tiller are located on the motor.
COLD START

1. Set the ON/OFF switch to the “ON” position.
2. Move the choke lever to the full or closed throttling position.
3. Move the throttle lever 1/4.
4. Pull the starter rope slowly once and allow it to retract normally.
5. Pull the starter cord quickly and allow it to retract normally.
6. When the engine starts, gradually move the throttle lever to the “no choke” position and increase the throttle speed.

WARM ENGINE START
Starting an engine that is still warm from a previous run normally does not require the use of the choke.

1. Set the ON/OFF switch to the “ON” position.
2. Make sure the throttle lever remains in the open air position.
3. Pull the starter rope quickly until the engine starts. Let the rope return to normal. Repeat until the machine starts.
4. Adjust the speed up to “fast – hare” for more action from the power tiller.

IDLE SPEED

Use the “slow – turtle” position on the throttle lever to reduce engine pressure while tillage is not being used. Lowering the engine speed will help the life of the engine, as well as reduce fuel and oil consumption.
SPEED PERFORMANCE
For normal plowing, move the throttle lever to the “fast – hare” position.
STOP
To stop the engine at any time, change the ON position to OFF. To stop the wheels and teeth at any time, change the control unit to the neutral position.

TILLAGE

1. Set the depth setting lever to the desired working depth.
2. Move the throttle control to “fast – hare”.
3. Press the forward gear lever “forward”, and both the traction and the tiller blades will automatically start working.

SAFETY CONTROL DRIVE LEVERS
LEVER FORWARD:
Push the burs and wheels forward. Pushing down the safety control lever “forward” towards the handlebars moves the teeth and wheels. With the stop lever, the teeth and wheels make the power tiller make a complete stop.
LEVER BACKWARDS:
Hook the wheels and burs back. When the reverse gear lever is actuated, the operation of the cultivator is reversed.

ADJUSTMENTS AND TIPS

ATTENTION: Turn off the motor before making adjustments. Use caution when using the reverse lever.
WHEEL LOCKING PINS
TO LOCK THE WHEELS:

1. Remove the locking pin. Align the hole in the axle with the hole in the wheel rim.
2. Insert locked pins into the holes, pass the double ring through the pin to secure the shaft.
3. Securely lock the axle and wheel together before working.
4. Repeat on the other wheels.

NOTE: Do not operate the power tiller with only one wheel locked.
TO UNLOCK THE WHEELS AND PUT THEM IN THEIR FREE POSITION:

1. Remove the locking pin. Slide the wheel into the machine.
2. Insert the pin only into the shaft.
3. The wheel must rotate freely on the axle.

HANDLEBAR HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
The ideal height of the handlebar changes according to the depth of the tillage where you want to use it. To adjust the handlebars:

1. Unscrew the nuts and remove the upper and lower screws on each side.
2. Align the handlebars by placing them in the desired holes in the lowest position.
3. Insert the nuts and bolts and tighten them again.

DEPTH-ADJUSTMENT LEVER
The way of working at depth is controlled by the depth spur.
To adjust the tilling depth:

1. Remove the retaining pin.
2. Raise the lever of the holding adjustment to the position of the selected tillage level.
3. Align the holes in the depth setting lever with the holes in the bracket and replace the retaining pin.
   • Depth regulator lever down = Depth regulator lever downwards. Shallower ploughing.
   • Depth regulator lever up = Depth regulator lever upwards. Deeper ploughing.

TENSION ADJUSTING STRAP
Correct belt tension is essential for good performance. After the first half hour of operation, all cables must be readjusted. After this, the belt tension should be checked every 2 hours of operation. To tighten the strap:

1. Loosen the upper nut. Turn the nut 1/8”.
2. Tighten the lower nut.
3.  Check the settings.

This procedure has to be repeated until the straps are completely tightened. If the adjustment cannot be made successfully, replace the strap.

TIPS FOR PLOUGHING
ATTENTION: Do not adjust the knife depth until the safety levers are in the neutral position. Always leave the depth setting lever in the transport position before starting the engine by placing the braking device in the top hole of the depth setting lever. The key to good ploughing is to do superficial work in the first pass, and then increase the depth.

• Tilling in depth will depend on soil conditions.
• When starting to till in very hard or compact soil, place the retaining pin in the highest hole. This will allow you to work with less depth. With the depth regulator in this position, make several passes over the area to be cultivated. Then make successive layers.
• If the handlebar jumps or moves uncontrollably, lower the depth adjuster by placing the teeth in a higher hole. This will allow you to work normally.
• If there is grass or vegetation blocking the way, change the position of the handlebars so you can pass through.

CULTIVATION ADVICE
If you want to use the power tiller for cultivation:

• Sow different rows of plants leaving between 50 and 55 cm of distance between each row.
• Place the depth setting lever with the retaining teeth in one of the highest holes. This will allow the correct cultivation through the grasses and may divide the soil from the area.

MAINTENANCE

Good maintenance will extend the life of the machine. Prolonged or constant use may require more intensive maintenance for the machine to continue to function properly.
ATTENTION: Make sure the engine is completely shut down before performing any maintenance or repair. This will eliminate any potential risk.

MAINTENANCE OF THE POWER TILLER

The following information will help you to make the necessary revisions and perform the required procedures to follow the recommendations of the normal maintenance of your power tiller.
CHANGE THE BELT FORWARD OR BACKWARD

1. Turn off the machine. The engine has to be cold.
2. Remove the spark plug wire and secure the spark plug.
3.  Remove the belt guard.

Remove the belt from the front from the motor pulley forward:

• Pull the motor cord to rotate the pulley.
• With the pulley running, force the belt forward out of the groove.
• Slide the belt off the motor pulley.
• Pull the strap down and out.

Remove the reverse belt from the motor pulley.

• Gently pull on the motor cord to rotate the pulley.
• With the pulley running, force the belt forward out of the groove.
• Slide the belt off the motor pulley and change the belt guides.
• Pull the strap down and out.

Install the new strap upside down.

• Pull the strap from below.
• Replace the strap and snap it into the strap guides.
• Gently pull on the motor starter cable. Install the new belt forward.
• Place the belt forward into the groove of the belt pulley.
• Gently pull on the motor cord to rotate the pulley.
  • Replace the belt guard.
  • Connect the spark plug nipple.

CHECK THE TRANSMISSION OIL
Check transmission oil level annually. To check the level:

1. Move the lever to the ground.
2. Remove the dipstick from the oil level between the handlebar supports. If the oil level does not touch the dipstick, fill it with oil.
3. Use the filled hole.
4. Check that the front wheel drive and rear tine drive share the same fluid or transmission oil.
5.  If necessary, to drain the transmission oil, unscrew the screw at the bottom of the milling cutter drive.

CHECK THE TYRE PRESSURE
The recommended tyre pressure is 20PSI. If the tyres do not have the same pressure, the power tiller will move to the side.
LUBRICATION
Proper lubrication for moving mechanical parts is extremely important for care and maintenance. Check the lubricant level regularly (every 10 hours of use) and top up if necessary with SAE90 transmission oil.
CLEAN THE SHAFT OF THE ARMS

1. Turn off the engine. The engine has to be cold.
2. Remove the spark plug wire.
3. Lock the folded handlebars towards the engine and remove dirt from the most frictional spots.
4. Remove all vegetation, ropes, wires and any other material that has accumulated on the shaft or between the teeth.
5. Put the transmission back in a level position.
6. Replace the spark plug wire.

TROUBLESHOOTING

The table includes some of the most common problems, their causes and remedies.

Engine will not start

| •      Add fuel to the tank

•      Connecting the spark plug wire

•      The throttle must be in the throttle position for a cold start.

The engine runs irregularly during operation|

•      Clean or replace the air filter

It’s hard for the engine to start

| •      Drain the old fuel and replace it with a new one.

•      Make sure that the spark plug wire is connected correctly.

•      The safety control levers must be in a neutral position to start the engine.

The engine lacks power

| •      Raise the cutters to work at a shallower depth (using a depth adjuster)

•      Remove and clean the fuel tank

•      Clean or replace the air filter

•      Carburettor setting is incorrect, have the engine serviced.

•      Replace the spark plug and adjust the distance

•      Drain and refill the tank and carburetor

The engine does not stop when the control is in the stop

position.

•      Check and adjust the throttle

TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

• Allow the equipment to cool completely before transporting or storing.
• Avoid a location exposed to sunlight when placing the machine in a vehicle. If the machine is left in a locked vehicle for many hours, high temperatures inside the vehicle can cause the fuel to evaporate and cause a possible explosion.
• To prevent fuel loss during transport, the product should be secured in its normal operating position and with the fuel cap closed.
• Always store the product in a clean, safe, dry place with temperatures between 0º and 45ºC.
• The equipment is not weatherproof and should not be stored in direct sunlight, high temperatures or in damp places.
• Never store the equipment in places where flammable materials, combustible gases or liquids, etc. are present.
• To reduce the risk of fire, keep the machine clean by removing traces of material, oil and grease.
• For long periods of storage, store the machine without fuel. The stored fuels must be stabilized with a stabilizer.
• Store the machine out of the reach of children.

RECICLYING AND DISPOSING

Worn products are potentially recyclable and should not be disposed of in the usual waste. Help us to protect the environment and preserve natural resources. Dispose of the device in an environmentally friendly manner. Do not dispose of it with household waste. Its plastic and metal components can be separated and recycled. Take this appliance to an approved recycling centre (green dot).Gasoline, used oils, oil/gasoline blends and objects stained with gasoline (e.g., rags) should not be disposed of in regular trash, sewage, dirt, rivers, lakes or the sea. Oil-stained items should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations: take them to a recycling center. The materials used in the packaging of the machine are recyclable: please dispose of them in the appropriate container.

GUARANTEE

GREENCUT guarantees all GREENCUT products for a period of 24 months (valid for Europe). The warranty is subject to the date of purchase taking into account the intended use of the product. As a condition subject to warranty, the original receipt must be presented indicating the date of purchase and its description as well as the defective tool. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, especially on blades, blade fasteners, turbines, light sources,fan and transmission belts, impellers, air filters, spark plugs and damage caused by improper use, especially noncompliance with operating and maintenance instructions. In the event that repairs or modifications have been made by the consumer or other than with original GREENCUT spare parts, the warranty will be voided. In the event of a justified warranty claim, we are entitled, at our discretion, to repair or replace the defective tool free of charge. Other claims beyond this warranty are not valid.

• Directive 2006/42/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2006 on machinery, and amending Directive 95/16/EC
• Directive 2014/30/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014 on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to electromagnetic compatibility.
