ASSEMBLY
PLACING THE BATTERY
- Before inserting the battery pack, make sure that the switch is in the “0-off” position. Inserting the battery pack into a running tool can be dangerous.
- Insert the battery into the back of the saw until it clicks into place.
DUST DEPOSIT
- Insert the dust extraction nozzle into the dust extraction opening at the back of the saw and turn it anti-clockwise to secure it (to remove it, you will need to turn it clockwise).
- Attach a standard hoover hose and allow the hoover to suck up the dust while you are sawing. Always wear a dust mask, even when using the vacuum cleaner.
MOUNTING THE BASE
- Choose a blade according to the material to be cut.
- Turn the keyless chuck clockwise, insert the blade fully (with the teeth facing you) and release the keyless chuck. Insert the blade into the blade holder, making sure that the teeth are facing forward and that the flat rear edge of the blade fits into the guide roller.
- Check that the blade is correctly positioned in the guide roller and that it is secure in the blade holder.
PRODUCT USE
Before using the jigsaw, read the instructions carefully and familiarise
yourself with its features.
The following recommendations are a guide to improving the safety and
maintenance of the machine. Not all recommendations are applicable to all
tasks; care and common sense must be exercised when using the machine.
- Ensure that the working area is clear of any obstacles, especially on the side opposite the cut.
- When using the saw with one hand, always ensure that your free hand is away from the cutting area.
- The on/off switch is located on the handle of the saw. Press the trigger switch to switch on the jigsaw.
• The on/off switch can be locked using the lock button on the side of the saw handle. To unlock the switch, press the switch button again.
• Always ensure that the switch is in the off position before inserting the battery pack into the tool. Always remove the battery pack when not in use.
CAUTION: Check the condition of the blade before use. If the blade is
damaged, cracked, bent, missing teeth, etc., replace it.
RIGHT CUT
The following recommendations are a guide for the use of the equipment in its straight-cutting functionality, taking into account the safety and maintenance of the machine. Not all recommendations are applicable to all tasks; be aware and take safety precautions according to the task at hand and the characteristics of the material.
- Ensure that the workpiece is securely clamped in a vice or on a workbench.
- Mark a line on the workpiece through which cutting is required.
- Start the jigsaw and position the front of the base plate on the workpiece. Align the saw blade with the cut mark on the workpiece.
- Slowly advance the jigsaw along the cut mark. Press the hacksaw firmly against the workpiece to prevent the blade from catching or breaking.
- Let the tool work at its own pace, allowing the blade to cut freely. Do not force the tool: increasing the pressure will not result in a faster cut.
- Choose the right blade for the job and the required finish, depending on the type and thickness of the material. Large teeth give a fast, thick cut and small teeth give a better finish.
- When cutting a thin board, place it on a wooden board to help absorb vibrations.
ANGULAR CUTTING
The jigsaw can be used to cut at different angles by adjusting the base plate.
Before adjusting the base plate, make sure that the jigsaw is disconnected
from the battery.
- To adjust the base plate, loosen the hexagonal screw on the bottom of the jigsaw with the hexagonal spanner.
- Slide the base plate forward, tilt it to the desired angle (range: 15°, 30°, 45°) Tighten the hexagonal screw with the hexagonal key.
- Proceed in the same way as for straight cutting, ensuring that the base plate remains flat against the workpiece.
- After adjustment, reconnect the battery. Position the guide holder as required, then turn the rotation lever (K) to the fully rotated position (X).
- When releasing, hold the workpiece against the guide bracket so that the cut is straight and tight.
PENDULUM ACTION
The pendulum action can be adjusted using the pendulum knob located on the
left side of the jigsaw, next to the blade. There are four settings marked: 0,
1, 2 and 3. The best pendulum stroke settings for a given job are shown below:
Chapa | 0 |
---|---|
Steel | 0 |
Plywood | 3-Feb |
Aluminum | 0 |
Plastic | 2-Jan |
Wood | 3-Feb |
MAINTENANCE
Good maintenance extends the life of the machine. Prolonged or constant use may require more intensive maintenance to keep the machine running smoothly.
-
Never use excessive force when cutting. Excessive pressure reduces the speed of the machine and the power required is greatly reduced. This can cause an overload that may damage the machine’s motor.
-
If the machine becomes too hot, let it idle for two minutes, then stop working for a short time. Clean the machine with a clean cloth and brush. Make sure that the ventilation slots are not blocked.
• Never use water or other liquids to clean the electrical parts of the tool. Always clean the tool after use. -
Make sure that the ventilation slots are not blocked to prevent overheating.
-
Check the carbon brushes regularly (dirty or worn carbon brushes cause excessive sparking and loss of speed). This should only be done by an official service center.
-
Always replace carbon brushes in pairs.
-
During servicing, use only the manufacturer’s original spare parts, accessories, and supplements. The use of any other parts may create a hazard or damage the product.
WARNING: Ensure that the machine is completely switched off before
carrying out any maintenance or repairs. This will eliminate any potential
hazard.
WARNING: Clean the machine after each use to prevent the build-up of
sawdust and wood resin on the machine components, table, and saw blade. Before
maintenance and cleaning, make sure the battery is disconnected from the saw.
Use only mild soap and a slightly damp cloth to clean your saw. Many household
cleaners contain chemicals that could seriously damage plastic. Do not use
petrol, turpentine, lacquer, paint thinner or similar products to clean the
machine. Never allow any liquid to enter the tool or immerse any part of your
saw in any liquid.
