Installation Instructions –
Metalux CBRK Emergency Transfer Relay with dimming control

WARNING

  • Risk of Fire, Electrical Shock, Cuts or other Casualty Hazards- Installation and maintenance of this product must be performed by a qualified electrician. This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable installation code by a person familiar with the construction and operation of the product and hazards involved.
  • Risk of Fire and Electric Shock- Make certain power is OFF before starting installation or attempting any maintenance. Disconnect power at fuse or circuit breaker.
  • Risk of Fire- Minimum 90°C supply conductors.
  • Risk of Burn- Disconnect power and allow fixture to cool before handling or servicing.
  • Risk of Personal Injury- Due to sharp edges, handle with care.

ATTENTION Receiving Department:
Note actual fixture description of any shortage or noticeable damage on delivery receipt. File claim for common carrier (LTL) directly with carrier. Claims for concealed damage must be filed within 15 days of delivery. All damaged material, complete with original packing must be retained.

Important Safeguards

When using electrical equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: RREEAAD

READY AND FOLLOW  ALL  SAFETY  INSTRUCTIONS

  1. CAUTION – This fixture provides more than one power supply output source. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, disconnect both normal and emergency sources by turning off the AC branch circuit.
  2. CAUTION – To reduce risk of electrical shock, this unit requires the case to be grounded before AC power is applied.
  3. CAUTION – This is a sealed unit. Replace the entire unit when necessary.
  4. DO NOT USE OUTDOORS. The ETS-DR is for use with grounded, UL Listed, indoor fixtures. Not for use in heated air outlets or hazardous locations.
  5. Do not mount near gas or electric heaters.
  6. The ETS-DR should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not readily be subjected to tampering by unauthorized personnel.
  7. The ETS-DR is compatible with all AC magnetic and electronic ballasts and drivers.
  8. The ETS-DR is for use in 0-10 volt dimming applications, and not designed for use with 3-wire dimming or step dimming ballasts. The maximum current of the dimming circuit must not exceed 100 mA.
  9. For use in -20°C minimum, 65°C maximum ambient temperatures.
  10. The use of accessory equipment not recommended by the manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.
  11. Do not use this equipment for other than intended use.
  12. Install in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local regulations.
  13. Installation and servicing should be performed by qualified personnel.
  14.  Lighting fixture manufacturers, electricians, and end-users need to ensure product system compatibility before final installation.Make sure all the connections are in accordance with the National Electrical Code and any local regulations.

Installation

  1. Mounting: The ETS-DR can be mounted inside a fixture channel, on the back of a fixture, or near the fixture. The flex conduit should be connected to a junction enclosure that allows access to the wiring connections for grounding.

Components: ETS-DR (A), ETS-DR mtg screw (B), driver bracket (C), driver bracket mtg screw (D) & ETS-DR MTG Bracket (E) – Numbers in Bracket indicate Quantity

Mounting to back of fixture
  1.  Secure ETS-DR (A) to back side of LED Panel (X) refer whichever Fig.2 best matches with available CBRK fixture in the field.
  2. Use Driver Bracket (C) provided in ETS-DR KIT, if the existing fixture is available with bigger driver (40W).
  3. If the existing fixture in the field is with smaller driver 20W/30W, then scrap driver bracket (C).

Installing AC Indicator:
  • Installation of AC indicator is optional if customer wants it can install otherwise can scrap.
  • If customer wants to install AC indicator, based of location of ETS-DR mounting can install AC indicator in either way
