Safety instructions

WARNING

Only use the product as described in this manual.
Do not use the product if a part is damaged or defective. Replace a damaged or defective product immediately.
Do not drop the product and avoid bumping.
This product may only be serviced by a qualified technician for maintenance to reduce the risk of electric shock.
Disconnect the product from the electrical outlet and other equipment if problems occur.
Close supervision is necessary when the product is used by or near children, animals or infirm persons. Do not allow children to play with it or touch it.
Keep the product away from heat sources. Do not place the product on hot surfaces or near open flames.
Do not remove the top lid while the brewing cycle is in progress.
Do not cover the product.
Do not use solvents to clean the product.
Use distilled or clean tap water to fill the tank.
Unplug the product when not in use and before cleaning.
Do not place any objects on the product.
Do not move the product during operation.
Never immerse the product in water or place it in a dishwasher.

Installation

Check the contents of the package
Check that all parts are present and that no damage is visible on the parts. If parts are missing or damaged, contact the Nedis B.V. service desk via the website: www.nedis.com.

Before first use

Clean the mug A 9, mug lid A 8, the filter A 5 and the funnel A 6 with soap and rinse with water.

When you first use this product, perform two full brewing cycles without coffee to clean the inside of the product.

Use

Brewing coffee

This coffee maker comes with a reusable filter.

A paper filter is not required.

1. Open the top lid A 1.

2. Put 3 tablespoons of finely ground coffee or 4 tablespoons of regular ground coffee into A 5.

3. Distribute the ground coffee evenly.

4. Place A 5 into A 6.

5. Place A 56 into the brewing chamber A 7.

6. Fill the water tank A 2 with clean water.

7. Close A 1.

8. Place A 9 under the coffee spout A 3.

9. Plug the power cable A 4 into the power outlet.

10. Press the power button A14 to start the brewing cycle.

The brewing indicator LED A16 switches on to indicate the brewing cycle had started.
Do not remove the top lid A 1 while the brewing cycle is in progress.

11. Wait a few minutes after the brewing cycle has finished to allow all the coffee to drip into the mug.

12. Allow the product to cool down.

13. Take A 5 from A 7.

14. Discard the used ground coffee.

15. Enjoy your coffee.

Setting the clock

Press the hour button A12 and minute button A15 repeatedly to set the current time.
Press and hold the button to scroll through the numbers quickly.

Setting the timer

1. Press the program button A11.

2. Press A12 and A15 repeatedly to set the start time for the brewing cycle.

3. Press A11 again to confirm the start time.

The timed brewing indicator LED A13 switches on when the timed brewing cycle begins.

4. Press and hold A11 for 3 seconds to cancel the timer.

Maintenance

Before cleaning and maintenance, switch off the product and disconnect the power. Let the product cool down for 10 minutes.
Clean the product after every use.

Cleaning the parts

1. Only A 689 can be cleaned in water or dishwasher when removed from the product.

2. Wash A 5 in hot water with soap.

Cleaning the housing

Clean the product regularly with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Avoid abrasives that can damage the surface.
Do not use aggressive chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, acid or acetone when cleaning the product.
Do not open the product.

Descaling the product

Remove limescale every month.

1. Fill A 9 with 1 part of white vinegar and 3 parts of water.

2. Pour A 9 into A 2.

3. Close A 1.

4. Place A 9 under A 3.

5. Plug A 4 into the power outlet.

6. Press A t to start the brewing cycle.

While cleaning, more hot steam occurs than normal brewing cycles.

7. When the water stops dripping into A 9 allow the product to cool down for 3 minutes.

8. Remove, rinse and place back A 5.

9. Repeat this process one more time.

10. Rinse the product and run a brewing cycle with only water.

11. Allow the product to cool down.

12. Wash and rinse A 5,6,9.
