Before Using your Alex by Dash Bundt Maker

  1. Carefully unpack the Electric Rotating Bundt Cake Maker and remove all packaging and materials.

  2. Before using your Electric Rotating Bundt Cake Maker for the first time, lift the Lid to expose the Removable Cake Tray. Grasp the Handles to remove. Wash and rinse the Cake Tray before use.

  3. Wipe upper and lower bundt cake plates with a damp cloth to remove all dust, then dry. Wipe outer surfaces and base with a slightly damp, soft cloth or sponge. CAUTION: Take care to prevent water from running into the appliance. NEVER IMMERSE THE BUNDT MAKER IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUIDS!

  4. Before using, re-insert the Removable Cake Tray into the Lower Bundt Plate. Align the Removable Cake Tray handles with the cutouts in the body, making sure the bottom sits flat Into the Lower Bundt Plate. (Photo 1)

  5. Store Electric Rotating Bundt Cake Maker with the lid closed. Turn the unit to the vertical position and fold the handle down for compact storage until use. (Photo 2)

NOTE: If the Removable Cake Tray Handles are not correctly positioned, the Bundt Cake Maker will not rotate.

Using Your Alex by Dash Bundt Maker

  1. Place the Electric Rotating Bundt Cake Maker on a flat, stable surface.

  2. IMPORTANT: Make sure the Removable Cake Tray is in position in the Lower Bundt Plate.

  3. If the Lid Handle is folded, unfold to extend and close the lid. Fold handle to either side to avoid contact during use.

  4. Prepare cake batter.

  5. Plug unit into a 120 V AC electrical outlet to preheat. The red Power Light will illuminate.

NOTE: When the Electric Rotating Bundt Cake Maker is heated for the first time, it may emit slight smoke or odor. This is normal and should disappear after 1 or 2 uses. This does not affect the safety of the appliance. However, as it may affect the flavor of the first cake prepared in the Electric Rotating Bundt Cake Maker, it is recommended that this cake be discarded.

  1. After approximately 2 to 3 minutes, the green READY light will illuminate, indicating the unit is preheated and is ready for use.

  2. Using the Lid Handle, rotate the unit counter-clockwise until the Bundt Cake Maker’s bundt cake plates are positioned flat and locked into a stable horizontal position, with indicator lights on top. Unfold the lid handle and lift to expose the bundt cake plates.
IMPORTANT: Make sure the removable cake tray is in position in the lower cake plate.
WARNING: The Electric Rotating Bundt Cake Maker is designed to bake with the removable cake tray. To prevent damage to the unit or injury to persons, never add batter or bake any cake in the unit without first making sure the cake tray sits flat in the bottom of the Lower Bundt Plate, and the Cake Tray Handles are fitted properly in the cutouts in the body.
NOTE: Improper assembly of the Removable Cake Tray will prevent the Bundt Cake Maker from rotating.

  3. Apply a generous coat of oil or cooking spray to the upper and lower cake plates and removable cake tray. Use a paper towel if necessary, or a soft brush or silicone utensil. Do not use metal utensils as they may scratch the coating.

  4. Pour 2 to 2-1/2 cups batter onto the Removable Cake Tray, in the center of the Lower Cake Plate. DO NOT add batter past the top ridge in the mold.
NOTE: Avoid pouring batter over the center of the mold if possible.
IMPORTANT: Quantity of batter needed may vary depending on the batter consistency.

  5. Use the Lid Handle to lower the Lid; rotate the unit clockwise 180° until the bottom side is facing up. Fold handle to either side to avoid contact during baking.

  6. Allow the Bundt Cake Maker to bake undisturbed for 13 to 15 minutes, according to recipe directions. The green Ready Light will cycle on and off as the unit maintains baking temperature.

IMPORTANT: Recipes may vary in bake time and brownness; lighter batters with more sugar will brown quicker.

  1. At the end of the bake time, rotate counterclockwise 180° until the maker is right-side up. Unfold the Handle and extend to lift the Lid. Test the cake for doneness by inserting a wooden toothpick 1 inch from the edge. The cake is done when the toothpick comes out clean. If not, close and rotate the Bundt Cake Maker again and continue baking for 1-2 minute intervals between testing.

  2. Use the Cake Tray Handles to lift the bundt cake out of the lower plate. Slide the cake out onto a cooling rack.
NOTE: If additional cakes are to be baked, wipe down the Removable Cake Tray and replace it within the Bundt Maker, keeping the Bundt Cake Maker lid closed to retain heat. Always wait until the green Ready Light is illuminated before adding fresh batter.

  3. When baking is complete remove the Bundt Cake and unplug the power cord from the electric outlet and allow unit to cool. Do not clean the cooking surfaces until the Bundt Cake Maker has been fully cooled.

  • Remove the plug from the outlet and allow the Maker to cool completely before cleaning.
CAUTION: Unplug the Alex by Dash Bundt Maker from the electrical outlet and allow to cool thoroughly before cleaning.

  • The removable cake tray should be cleaned after every use. The removable cake tray is top rack dishwasher safe.

  • Never immerse the Bundt Cake Maker in water or other liquids. Never place the Bundt Cake Maker in dishwasher. To clean the Plates, wipe them down with a clean, soft cloth or sponge.

  • To condition plates and removable cake tray: Brush a generous coat of vegetable oil onto the lower and upper bundt cake plates. Spread oil with an absorbent kitchen towel and wipe off any excess oil.

  • Carefully follow suggested cleaning procedures below. After a time, if cakes show signs of sticking, recondition as needed.

  • To protect the nonstick surface of your Bundt Maker, use only plastic, nylon or wooden utensils. To remove any batter baked onto the bundt cake plates, pour a small amount of cooking oil onto the hardened batter. Allow to set for 5 minutes, then wipe softened batter off with a paper towel or soft cloth. Remove stubborn stains with a plastic mesh puff or pad.

  • A clean round kitchen brush or a toothbrush works well to remove baked-on batter from the plates and body. For best results, use only products with directions stating they are safe for cleaning non-stick cooking surfaces. Do not use steel wool or coarse scouring pads.

  • The exterior finish should be cleaned with a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft, damp cloth or sponge. Dry thoroughly.

Storing Your Bundt Maker

  • Make sure The Bundt Maker is unplugged and fully cooled.
  • For convenient, compact storage, turn the unit vertically and fold the handle down.
  • Store Electric Rotating Bundt Cake Maker in its box, in a clean, cool area.
  • Do not put any stress on the cord where it enters unit, as this could cause cord to fray and break.
