Intended use
The KASC113VA is a highly accurate kitchen scale that can measure in kilograms, milliliters, fluid ounces and pounds.
The product can also be set to measure milk and water volumes.
The product is intended for indoor use only.
The product is not intended for professional use.
Any modification of the product may have consequences for safety, warranty and proper functioning.

Safety instructions

WARNING

  • Ensure you have fully read and understood the instructions in this document before you install or use the product. Keep the packaging and this document for future reference.

  • Only use the product as described in this document.

  • Retain the original product literature for future reference.

  • Do not use the product if a part is damaged or defective. Replace a damaged or defective product immediately.

  • Do not drop the product and avoid bumping.

  • Do not expose the product to water or moisture.

  • Never immerse the product in water or place it in a dishwasher.

  • Battery usage by children should be supervised.

  • Do not dismantle, open or shred secondary cells or batteries.

  • Do not expose cells or batteries to heat or fire.
    Avoid storage in direct sunlight.

  • Do not short-circuit a cell or a battery.

  • Do not store cells or batteries haphazardly in a box or drawer where they may short-circuit each other or be short-circuited by other metal objects.

  • Do not subject cells or batteries to mechanical shock.

  • In the event of a cell leaking, do not allow the liquid to come in contact with the skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the affected area with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice.

  • Do not mix cells of different manufacture, capacity, size or type within a product.

  • Only use the battery type(s) recommended in this document.

  • Keep cells and batteries clean and dry.

  • Do not remove a cell or battery from the original packaging until required for use.

  • Do not use any cell or battery that is not designed for use with the product.

  • Use only the cell or battery in the application for which it was intended.

  • When possible, remove the battery from the product when not in use.

  • Wipe the cell or battery terminals with a clean dry cloth if they become dirty.

  • Observe the plus (+) and minus (–) marks on the cell, battery and equipment and ensure correct use.

  • Dispose of the cell or battery properly.

  • Always keep button cell batteries, both full and empty, out of reach of children to avoid the chance of swallowing. Dispose of used batteries immediately and safely. Button cell batteries can cause serious internal chemical burns in as little as two hours when swallowed. Keep in mind that the first symptoms may look like child diseases like coughing or drooling. Seek immediate medical attention when you suspect that batteries have been swallowed.

  • Seek medical advice immediately if a cell or a battery has been swallowed.

Changing the battery (image C )

  1. Open the battery compartment A5.

  2. Place the CR2032 battery (included) into the battery compartment A5.
    i Observe the plus (+) and minus (–) marks on the product and battery and ensure correct placement.

  3. Close the battery compartment A5.

Using the product

  1. Place the product on a stable and flat surface.

  2. Press the weighing platform A1 to switch on the product.
    i Wait until the display A3 shows 00.00.0.

  3. Press the mode button A4 to switch between measuring modes. The current mode is shown on the display A3.

  4. Press the zero button A2 to tare the reading to ‘0’.
    Optional: Place a clean and dry container or plate on the weighing platform A1 if you need to weigh ingredients separately from the main scale surface. Press the “Zero” button A2 to reset the scale to zero with the container in place. This allows you to measure only the weight of the ingredients you add.

  5. Carefully place the item or ingredient you want to weigh onto the weighing platform A1 or inside the container.

  6. Wait for the scale to stabilize and display the accurate weight measurement.
    i The product automatically switches off after 60 seconds of inactivity

Switching between measurement units

  1. The measurement unit button A6 is located on the bottom of the product.
  2. Press the measurement unit button A6 to switch between metric (g, ml) and imperial (lb:oz, fl’oz) units.

Disposal

The product is designated for separate collection at an appropriate collection point. Do not dispose of the product with household waste.
