FAQ’s

What to consider before mounting a TV?

The most important thing to consider when mounting a television is whether or not your wall can hold it up. Even the most modern, lightest televisions are quite a bit heavier than your largest framed pieces. Because of this, the location you choose will need a stud (or two) to anchor the screws.

How long do TV mounts last?

A good quality wall mount that is the right size for your TV and is properly installed by a professional installation expert will last a lifetime.

What are the rules for mounting a TV on the wall?

The common rule is that a 42” TV should be mounted about 56 inches from the floor to the center of the TV, a 55” should be 61 inches, a 65” should be 65, and a 70” should be 67 inches from the floor to the middle of the TV. As you can see, the larger the television, the higher it should be hung.

Does it matter where you mount a TV?

You definitely don’t want to mount your TV too high, too far away, or at a weird angle.

Can all TV be wall mounted?

First off, almost all modern TVs are standardized to fit the main wall mount brands on the market, so it doesn’t matter whether you have a Samsung, Sony, LG, or any of the other TV manufacturers. The wall mount doesn’t have to be the same brand as your TV.

What is the best mounting position for a TV?

LED TVs are designed to be watched straight in front, so wall-mounting your TV directly in front of your viewing area is ideal. If the TV is mounted in a corner or off-center from your seating area, consider using a full-motion TV bracket so that you can angle the TV to get a better viewing angle.

Do TV mounts adjust?

Tilting TV wall mounts give you the ability to angle the screen down for better viewing when installed higher on a wall. Full-motion TV wall mounts allow you to manually adjust the television right, left, up, and down for a custom angle.

How many holes does a TV mount need?

The VESA pattern (or size) indicates the spacing of the four mounting holes on the back of your TV. Most TV mounts accommodate a range of standardized mounting patterns, but you’ll want to make sure to find one that precisely matches your TV.

Do all TV mounts work?

That means that any TV mount you buy should work, as long as it’s rated for your television’s size. Televisions use several different VESA pattern sizes. The most common are VESA 200 x 200 for TVs up to 32 inches, VESA 400 x 400 for TVs up to 60 inches, and VESA 600 x 400 for bigger-screen TVs.

Can you mount a TV on a wall without damage?
