Product Information

The Upright Fridge WRM2400WF is a refrigerator designed to provide efficient cooling and storage for your food and beverages. Product Usage Instructions

1. Tilt the refrigerator at least 45 degrees to access the hinge area.
2. Locate the fixing hole on the door end cover.
3. Take the support block provided in the accessories bag.
4. Using a screwdriver, align the support block with the fixing hole on the door end cover.
5. Securely screw the support block into place, ensuring it is tightly fastened.
6. Once the support block is installed, carefully bring the refrigerator back to its upright position.
7. Check that the refrigerator is stable and does not tip forward when the door shelves are full.

Electrical safety

1. The power cord must not be lengthened.
2. Make sure that the power plug is not crushed or damaged. A crushed or damaged power plug may overheat and cause a fire.
3. Make sure that you can access the main plug of the appliance.
4. Do not pull the main cable.
5. If the power plug socket is loose, do not insert the power plug. There is a risk of electric shock or fire.
6. You must not operate the appliance without the interior lighting lamp cover.
7. The fridge is only applied with power supply of single phase alternating current of 220~240V/50Hz. If fluctuation of voltage in the district of user is so large that the voltage exceeds the above scope, for safety sake, be sure to apply automatic voltage regulator of more than 350W to the fridge. The fridge must employ a special power socket instead of common one with other electric appliances. Its plug must match the socket with ground wire.

Daily use

Caution! Care and cleaning

• Before maintenance, switch off the appliance and disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.
• Do not clean the appliance with metal objects, steam cleaner, ethereal oils, organic solvents or abrasive cleansers.
• Do not use sharp objects to remove frost from the appliance. Use a plastic scraper.

Installation Important!

• For electrical connection carefully, follow the instructions given in this manual. Unpack the appliance and check if there are damages on it.
• Do not connect the appliance if it is damaged. Report possible damages immediately to the place you bought it. In this case retain packing.
• It is advisable to wait at least four hours before connecting the appliance to allow the oil to flow back in the compressor.
• Adequate air circulation should be around the appliance, lacking this leads to overheating. To achieve sufficient ventilation, follow the instructions relevant to installation.
• Wherever possible the back of the product should not be too close to a wall to avoid touching or catching warm parts (compressor, condenser) to prevent the risk of a fire, follow the instructions relevant to installation.
• The appliance must not be locate close to radiators or cookers.
• Make sure that the mains plug is accessible after the installation of the appliance.

Service

• This product must be serviced by an authorized Service Center, and only genuine spare parts must be used.

Installing your new appliance

Before using the appliance for the first time, you should review the following tips.

Ventilation of appliance
In order to improve efficiency of the cooling system and save energy, it is necessary to maintain good ventilation around the appliance. For this reason, sufficient clear space should be available around the refrigerator. It is advisable for there to be 50-70mm of space from the back to the wall, at least 100mm from its top,at last 100mm from itsside to the wall and a clear space in front to allow the doors to open 135°. Please see the following diagrams.

• Note: This appliance performs well within the climate class from SN to T showed in the table below.
  It may not work properly if left at a temperature above or below the indicated range for a long period.

• Stand your appliance in a dry place to avoid moisture damage.

• Keep the appliance out of direct sunlight, rain or frost. Stand the appliance away from heat sources such as stoves, fires or heaters.

Leveling of appliance

• For sufficient leveling and air circulating in the lower rear section of the appliance, the bottom feet may need to be adjusted.
• You can adjust them manually using a suitable spanner. To allow the doors to self-close, tilt the top backwards by about 10mm.
• When the door shelves are full and the refrigerator empty, the refrigerator may tip forward. You can prevent this by installing the support block provided in the accessories bag to the correct location on the hinge.
• Tilt the refrigerator at least 45 degrees and ensure that the refrigerator is stable and reliable.
• Use a screwdriver to screw the support block into the fixing hole on the door end cover.

Using your appliance

Accessories Movable shelves/trays

• Various glass, plastic storage shelves or wire trays are included with your appliance-different models have different combinations and different models have different features.
• The walls of the refrigerator are equipped with a series of runners so that the shelves can be positioned as desired.

Remove and install the door shelf

• Warning: The door shelf must not removed and installed by the user! If the door shelf is damaged ,contact the customer helpline for assistance. To replace the door shelf, the below steps can be followed:
• Press the right side of the door shelf inwardly ,while holding the left side. When the notch of the shelf has been detached from the refrigerator door , remove the rack obliquely upwardly.
• Firstly tilt the left side of the door shelf ,and make sure the notch has been fastened to the door .Then press the right side inwardly ,push it down to the right place.

Refrigerator compartment

• For storing food that does not need to be frozen and different sections suitable for different kinds of food.
  Vegetable Drawer

• For storing fruit and vegetables.

Display control

Use your appliance according to the following guidelines, your appliance has functions as control panel shown in the picture below.

Controlling the temperature
We recommend that when you start your refrigerator for the first time, the temperat ure for the refrigerator is set to 4 ·c.
If you want to change the temperature, follow the instructions below.
Caution! When you set a temperature, you set an average temperature for the whole refrigerator cabinet. Temperatures inside each compartment may vary from the temperature displayed on the panel, depending on how much food you store and where you place them. Ambient temperature may also affect the actual temperature inside the appliance.

1. Fridge

NOTE: When testing cooling capacity, the appliance should be set in operation in the quick chill condition until reaching stable state, and then put the light load in the refrigerator compartment. High temperature setting will accelerate food waste.

Reversing the door

The side at which the door opens can be changed, from the right side (as supplied} to the left side, if required. Warning! When reversing the door, the appliance must not be connected to the mains. Ensure that the plug is removed from the mains socket.

Tools you will need:
Note: If required you may lay the refrigerator on its back in order to gain access to the base, you should rest it on soft foam packaging or similar material to avoid damaging the backboard of the refrigerator. To reverse the door, the following steps are generally recommended.

1. Stand the refrigerator upright. Open the upper door to take out all door racks (to avoid damage) and then close the door.

2. Use a putty knife or thin-blade screwdriver to prize the screw hole cover which is at the top left comer of the refrigerator, and the upper hinge cover which is at the top right comer of the refrigerator.

3. Unscrew the special flange self-tapping screws which are used for fixing the right upper hinge part by a 8mm socket driver or a spanner (please support the upper door with your hand when doing it).

4. Remove the upper hinge axis, transfer it to reversed side and tighten securely, then put it in a safe place.

5. Remove the door from the lower hinge.
   NOTE: When removing the door, watch for washer(s) between the lower hinge and the bottom of the lower door that may stick to the door. Do not lose.

6. Place it on a smooth surface with its panel upwards. Loose screw@ and part (D, then install them to the left side and tighten securely.

7. Lay the refrigerator on soft foam packaging or similar material. Remove both adjustable bottom feet parts, and the lower hinge part by unscrewing the special flange self-tapping screws.

8. Replace the lower hinge part to the left side and fixing it with the special flange self-tapping screws. Replace the adjustable bottom feet parts to another side and fixing it.

9. Transfer the door to the property position, adjust the lower hinge part, make the hinge axis into the lower hole of the door.

10. Transfer the upper hinge part and make the upper hinge axis into the upper hole of the door, and adjust the position of the door (please support the door with your hand when doing it), fixing the upper hinge part with the special flange self-tapping screws.

11. Install the screw hole cover on the top right comer of the refrigerator. Install the upper hinge cover (which is in the plastic bag) on the left comer. Put the other upper hinge cover into the plastic bag.

12. Open the upper door and install the door shelves, then close it.

Waming: When changing the side at which the door opens, the appliance must not be connected to the mains. Remove plug from the mains beforehand.

Helpful hints and tips

Noises during Operation

The following noises are characteristic of refrigeration appliances:

• Clicks Whenever the compressor switches on or off, a click can be heard.
• Humming As soon as the compressor is in operation, you can hear it humming.
• Bubbling When refrigerant flows into thin tubes, you can hear bubbling or splashing noises.
• Splashlng Even after the compressor has been switched off, this noise can be heard for a short time.

Energy saving tips

• Do not install the appliance near cookers, radiators or other sources of warmth.
• Do not open the door too often or leave the door open any longer than necessary.
• Do not set temperature colder than necessary.
• Make sure the side plates and back plate of the appliance are with some distance from the wall, follow the instructions relevant to installation.
• If sketch map shows the right combination of the drawers, crisper and shelves, do not adjust the com -bination, it would result in more energy-consuming.

Hints for fresh food refrigeration
To obtain the best performances:

• Do not store warm foods or evaporating liquids in the appliance.
• Do cover or wrap the food, particular1y if it has a strong flavor.
• Position food so that air can circulate freely around.

Hints for refrigeration

• Meat(all types): wrap in polythene bags and place on the glass shelf above the vegetable drawer.For safety, store in this way only one or two days at the most.
• Cooked foods, cold dishes, etc … : these should be covered and may be placed on any shelf.Fruit and vegetables: these should be thoroughly cleaned and placed in the special draw(s) provided.
• Butter and cheese: these should be placed in aluminum foil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as possible.
• Milk bottles: these should have a cap and should be stored in the bottle rack on the door.

Cleaning and Care

For hygienic reasons the appliance interior, including interior accessories, should be cleaned regularly. The fridge should be cleaned and maintained at least every two months.

Warning! Danger of electrical shock!

• The appliance should not be connected to the mains during cleaning. Before cleaning switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the mains, or switch off or turn out the circuit breaker or fuse.

Important!

• Remove the food from the appliance before cleaning. Store them in a coolplace, well covered.
• Never clean the appliance with a steam cleaner. Moisture could accumulate in electrical components,
• Hot vapors can lead to the damage of plastic parts.
• Ethereal oils and organic solvents can attack plastic parts, e.g. lemon juice or the juice from orange peel, butyric acid, cleanser that contain acetic acid.Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts.
• Do not use any abrasive cleansers.
• Clean the appliance and the interior accessories with a cloth and lukewarm water. Commercially available dish washing detergents may also be used.
• After cleaning wipe with fresh water and clean dish cloth.
• Accumulation of dust at the condenser increases energy consumption, clean the condenser at the back of the appliance once a year with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner.
• Check the water drain hole on the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment.
• Clear a blocked drain hole with the aid of something like soft green peg, be careful not to make any damage to the cabinet by sharp things.
• After everything is dry place appliance back into service.

Defrosting Why defrosting

• Water contained in food or getting into air inside the fridge be opening doors may form a frost layer inside. It will weaken the refrigeration when the frost is thick. While it is more than 10mm thick, you should defrost.

Defrosting in fresh food storage compartment
It is automatically controlled by switching the temperature regulator on or off so that there is no need of operation of defrosting. Water from defrosting will be drained into an drip tray through a drain pipe at the back of the fridge automatically.

Go out of use for a long time

• Remove all refrigerated packages.
• Switch off the appliance by turning the temperature regulator to position “O”.
• Remove the mains plug or switch off or disconnect the electricity supply.
• Clean thoroughly (see section: Cleaning and Care).
• Leave the door open to avoid the build up of odors.
  Note: lf the appliance contains freezer compartment.

What to do if …

• Warning! Before trouble shooting, disconnect the power supply. Only a qualified electrician of competent person must carry out the trouble shooting that is not in the manual.
• Important! There are some sounds during normal use(compressor, refrigerant circulation).
• Important! Repairs to refrigerators/freezers may only be performed by competent service engineers. Improper repairs can give rise to significant hazards for the user. If your appliance needs repairing, please contact your specialist dealer or your local Service Force Center.

DISPOSAL OF THE APPLIANCE

It is prohibited to dispose of this appliance in domestic household waste.

Packaging materials
Packaging materials with the recycle symbol are recyclable. Dispose the packaging in a suitable collector container to recycle it.

Before disposal of appliance.

1. Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.
2. Cut off the mains cable and discard it.

Correct Disposal of this product
This symbol on the product or in its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it should be taken to the appropriate collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. To avoid contamination of food, please respect the following instructions

• Opening the door for long periods can cause a significant increase of the temperature in the compartments of the appliance.
• Clean regularly surfaces that can come in contact with food and accessible drainage systems.
• Store fish in suitable containers in the refrigerator, so that it is not in contact with or drip onto other food.

Note: please store different foods according to the compartments or target storage temperature of your purchased products.

• If the refrigerating appliance is left empty for long periods, switch off, defrost, clean, dry, and leave the door open to prevent mould developing within the appliance.

Water dispenser cleaning (special for water dispenser products):

• Clean water tanks if they have not been used for 48 h; flush the water system connected to a water supply if water has not been drawn for 5 days.

Your new refrigerator may make sounds that your old one didn’t make. Because the sounds are new to you, you might be concerned about them. Most of the new sounds are normal. Hard surfaces, like the floor, walls and cabinets, can make the sounds seem louder than they actually are. The following describes the kinds of soundsand what may be making them.

FOR SALES IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND APPLIANCE: WESTINGHOUSE REFRIGERATORS AND FREEZERS:
This document sets out the terms and conditions of the product warranties for Westinghouse Appliances. It is an important document. Please keep it with your proof of purchase documents in a safe place for future reference should there be a manufacturing defect in your Appliance. This warranty is in addition to other rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

1. In this warranty:

   • ‘AGL’ or ‘Australian Consumer Law’ means Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 201 O;
   • ‘Appliance’ means any Electrolux product purchased by you and accompanied by this document;
   • ‘ASC’ means Electrolux’s authorised serviced centres;
   • ‘Westinghouse’ is the brand controlled by Electrolux Home Products Pty Ltd of 163 O’Riordan Street, Mascot NSW 2020, ABN 51 004 762 341 in respect of Appliances purchased in Australia and Electrolux (NZ) Limited (collectively “Electrolux’1 of 3-5 Niall Burgess Road, Mount Wellington, in respect of Appliances purchased in New Zealand;
   • ‘Warranty Period’ means the period specified in clause 3 of this warranty;
   • ‘you’ means the purchaser of the Appliance not having purchased the Appliance for re-sale, and ‘your’ has a corresponding meaning.

2. Application: This warranty only applies to new Appliances, purchased and used in Australia or New Zealand and is in addition to (and does not exclude, restrict, or modify in any way) other rights and remedies under a law to which the Appliances or services relate, including any nonexcludable statutory guarantees in Australia and New Zealand.

3. Warranty Period: Subject to these terms and conditions, this warranty continues for in Australia for a period of 24 months and in New Zealand for a period of 24 months, following the date of original purchase of the Appliance. Specific components are warranted against manufacturing defects in Australia and New Zealand for the periods listed below;

   • Compressor – Further 3 years
   • External Condenser – Further 3 years
   • Evaporator – Further 3 years
   • Drier – Further 3 years

4. Repair or replace warranty: During the Warranty Period, Electrolux or its ASC will, at no extra charge if your Appliance is readily accessible for service, without special equipment and subject to these terms and conditions, repair or replace any parts which it considers to be defective. Electrolux may, in its absolute discretion, choose whether the remedy offered for a valid warranty claim is repair or replacement. Electrolux or its ASC may use refurbished parts to repair your Appliance. You agree that any replaced Appliances or parts become the property of Electrolux.

5. Travel and transportation costs: Subject to clause 7, Electrolux will bear the reasonable cost of transportation, travel and delivery of the Appliance to and from Electrolux or its ASC. Travel and transportation will be arranged by Electrolux as part of any valid warranty claim.

6. Proof of purchase is required before you can make a claim under this warranty.

7. Exclusions: You may not make a claim under this warranty unless the defect claimed is due to faulty or defective parts or workmanship. This warranty does not cover:

   • light globes, batteries, filters or similar perishable parts;
   • parts and Appliances not supplied by Electrolux;
   • cosmetic damage which does not affect the operation of the Appliance;
   • damage to the Appliance caused by:
   1. negligence or accident;
   2. misuse or abuse, including failure to properly maintain or service;
   3. improper, negligent or faulty servicing or repair works done by anyone other than an Electrolux authorised repairer or ASC;
   4. normal wear and tear;
   5. power surges, electrical storm damage or incorrect power supply;
   6. incomplete or improper installation;
   7. incorrect, improper or inappropriate operation;
   8. insect or vermin infestation;
   9. failure to comply with any additional instructions supplied with the Appliance;
      In addition, Electrolux is not liable under this warranty if:

   • the Appliance has been, or Electrolux reasonably believes that the
     Appliance has been, used for purposes other than those for which the Appliance was intended, including where the Appliance has been used for any non-domestic purpose;

   • the Appliance is modified without authority from Electrolux in writing;

   • the Appliance’s serial number or warranty seal has been removed or defaced.

8. How to claim under this warranty: To enquire about claiming under this warranty, please follow these steps:

   • carefully check the operating instructions, user manual and the terms of this warranty;
   • have the model and serial number of the Appliance available;
   • have the proof of purchase (e.g. an invoice) available;
   • telephone the numbers shown below.

9. Australia: For Appliances and services provided by Electrolux in Australia: Electrolux goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Appliance repaired or replaced if the Appliance fails to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. ‘Acceptable quality’ and ‘major failure’ have the same meaning as referred to in the AGL.

10. New Zealand: For Appliances and services provided by Electrolux in New Zealand, the Appliances come with a guarantee by Electrolux pursuant to the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act, the Saie of Goods Act and the Fair Trading Act. Where the Appliance was purchased in New Zealand for commercial purposes the Consumer Guarantee Act does not apply.

11. Confidentiality: You accept that if you make a warranty claim, Electrolux and its agents including ASC may exchange information in relation to you to enable Electrolux to meet its obligations under this warranty.
