Product Information

The Westinghouse Indoor Lighting Fixture is designed to provide a beautiful lighting solution for your indoor space. The fixture is warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of five years from the purchase date. This warranty does not cover damages caused through abuse, improper installation, surges in electric current, acts of third parties, or acts of nature such as lightning damage or corrosion and discoloration of components. The fixture comes with wire connectors, a glass shade, mounting screws, a green grounding screw, a back plate, and a retaining plate (if applicable).

Product Usage Instructions

1. Unpack the fixture and parts carefully. Make sure all parts are included before discarding any packing materials.
2. Read and follow the instructions exactly as shown. If instructions are unclear, do not proceed. Contact a qualified electrician. Proper wiring is essential for safe operation of this fixture.
3. Turn off power at the circuit box to avoid possible electric shock.
4. Remove cap nuts and universal mounting plate or crossbar from the back plate (if needed), leaving mounting screws in place.
5. Secure universal mounting plate or crossbar to the outlet box with outlet box screws (if applicable).
6. Identify color coding of fixture wires.
7. Connect the black wire from the fixture with the black wire (live wire) from the outlet box by wire connector and wrap the wire connector with electrical tape for a more secure connection.
8. Connect the white wire from the fixture with the white wire (neutral wire) from the outlet box by wire connector and wrap the wire connector with electrical tape for a more secure connection.
9. Partially thread green grounding screw into the side hole on the universal mounting plate or crossbar.
10. Wrap the grounding wire from fixture around green grounding screw stem leaving enough excess wire, then connect the excess grounding wire from the fixture with the grounding wire from outlet box by wire connector (if applicable), then wrap the wire connector with electrical tape for a more secure connection.
11. Tighten the green grounding screw. Do not over-tighten.
12. Tuck wires inside the outlet box.

FIXTURE WARRANTY

This Westinghouse lighting fixture is warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of five years from the purchase date. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied.
This warranty does not cover acts of nature such as lightning damage, or corrosion and discoloration of components, nor does it cover damages caused through abuse, improver installation, surges in electric current, or acts of third parties.
This warranty does not cover the costs of removing and re-installing the lighting fixture.

NOTE: Carefully unpack fixtures and parts. Make sure all parts are included before discarding any pack-ing materials (see figure 1).

WARNING: ELECTRICAL SHOCK CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.
Read and follow instructions exactly as shown. If instructions are unclear, do not proceed. Contact a qualified electrician. Read all instructions before beginning. Proper wiring is essential for safe operation of this fixture. When cutting or drilling into walls or ceilings, do not damage electrical wiring, gas lines, or water lines. If any of the fixture or wiring components are damaged, do not install fixture. Return to the place of purchase. For fixtures provided with 75° C or 90° C supply wire warning only. (These warnings are provided on the U.L. label and on the fixture carton.) Risk of fire. Most dwellings built before 1985 have supply wires rated 60° C. Consult a qualified electrician before installing.

MOUNTING AND WIRING INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Underwriters Laboratories (UL) does not require all fixtures to have ground wires. These fixtures meet all UL specifications.

1. Turn off power at the circuit box to avoid possible electric shock.
2. Remove cap nuts (A) and universal mounting plate or cross bar (C) from back plate (B) (if needed), and leave mounting screws (D) in place. (see Fig. 1)
3. Secure universal mounting plate or cross bar (C) to outlet box (E) with outlet box screws (F) (if applicable).
4. Identify the color coding of fixture wires (see fig. 2).
5. Connect the black wire from the fixture with the black wire (live wire) from the outlet box by wire connector (G), and wrap the wire connector (G) with electrical tape for a more secure connection.
6. Connect the white wire from the fixture with the white wire (neutral wire) from the outlet box by wire connector (G), and wrap the wire connector (G) with electrical tape for a more secure connection.
7. Partially thread green grounding screw (H) into side hole (I) on the universal mounting plate or cross bar (C) (see Fig. 1).
8. Wrap the grounding wire from the fixture around the green grounding screw stem (H) leaving enough excess wire, then connect the excess grounding wire from the fixture with the grounding wire from the outlet box by wire connector (G) (if applicable), then wrap the wire connector (G) with electrical tape for a more secure connection.
9. Tighten green grounding screw (H). Do not over-tighten.
10. Tuck wires inside outlet box (E) (see Fig. 1).

FIXTURE ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Warning: This fixture is for indoor use only.

1. Position back plate (B) over mounting screws (D) by aligning back plate openings (J) with mounting screws (D).
2. Secure with cap nuts (A).
3. Remove the retaining ring (O). Install glass shade (L) and plate (S) (if applicable) into the holder(s) (M). Secure with plate (S) (if applicable) and retaining ring(s) (O).
4. Secure the tail final (P) to the bottom of the fixture arm (Q).
5. Install lamp(s). Do not exceed the recommended wattage.
6. Turn the power back on at the circuit box.

WARNING
Turn off the electricity to the mounting site before beginning installation. Mounting instructions must be followed exactly as shown for the fixture to be safely supported.

CLEANING AND CARE

To clean, wipe fixture with soft cloth. Clean glass with mild soap. Spraying from chemical cleaners can discolor the finish of the fixture. Do not use scouring pads, powders, steel wool or abrasive paper to clean this fixture.
