STRETCHING AS WARM-UP AND COOL-DOWN

To begin your training session, do some stretching. Never overstretch your muscles. We recommend performing each of the following exercises 10 times and repeating the complete cycle up to five times. Then make your training according to your personal fitness level.

After training, also do stretching exercises to properly cool down.

  1. HEAD ROLLS
Rotate your head to the right for one count, feeling the stretch up the left side of your neck, then rotate your head back for one count, stretching your chin to the ceiling and letting your mouth open. Rotate your head to the left for one count, then drop your head to your chest for one count.

  2. SHOULDER LIFTS
Lift your right shoulder toward your ear for one count. Then lift your left shoulder up for one count as you lower your right shoulder.

  3. SIDE STRETCHES
Open your arms to the side and lift them until they are over your head. Reach your right arm as far toward the ceiling as you can for one count. Repeat this action with your left arm.

  4. QUADRICEPS STRETCH
With one hand against a wall for balance, reach behind you and pull your right foot up. Bring your heel as close to your buttocks as possible. Hold for 15 counts and repeat with left foot.

  5. INNER THIGH STRETCH
Sit with the soles of your feet together and your knees pointing outward. Pull your feet as close to your groin as possible. Gently push your knees toward the floor. Hold for 15 counts.

  6. TOE TOUCHES
Slowly bend forward from your waist, letting your back and shoulders relax as you stretch toward your toes. Reach as far as you can and hold for 15 counts.

  7. HAMSTRING STRETCHES
Extend your right leg. Rest the sole of your left foot against your right inner thigh. Stretch toward your toe as far as possible. Hold for 15 counts. Relax and then repeat with left leg.

  8. CALF/ACHILLES STRETCH
Lean against a wall with your left leg in front of the right and your arms forward. Keep your right leg straight and the left foot on the floor; then bend the left leg and lean forward by moving your hips toward the wall. Hold, then repeat on the other side for 15 counts.

DISPLAY

The display has 7 different sections:

  1. CALORIES/PROGRAM

  2. TIME

  3. PULSE

  4. DISTANCE

  5. RPM/SPEED

  6. WATT/LEVEL NUMBER

  7. DOT GRAPHIC FOR LEVELS

  8. CALORIES:
Estimated value of calories burned so far during the training session. The actual value depends on a variety of different factors. A clinically accurate indication is, therefore, not possible with this training device. The display range is from 0 to 999 kcal.

  9. TIME:
Time elapsed so far during your training session; shown as [minutes:seconds] or as [hours.minutes]. The display range is from 0:00 to 99.59.

  10. PULSE:
Your current heart rate in beats per minute (BPM). It is measured by the grip sensors on the sensor bracket or by a pulse belt connected via bluetooth. Please be aware here too, it is not possible to provide clinically precise information. The display range is from 30 to 220 BPM.

  11. DISTANCE:
Distance in kilometers that you’ve covered so far during your training session. The display range is from 0.00 to 99.99 km.

  12. RPM / SPEED:
In this segment, the display alternates every 5 seconds between the current pedal revolutions per minute (RPM) and the current speed in km/h (SPEED). The display range is 0 to 999 RPM and 0.0 to 99.9 km/h.

  13. WATT / LEVEL:
In this segment, the display alternates every 5 seconds between the power in watts (WATT) you currently produce and the current intensity level (LEVEL). The display range is 0 to 726 watts and Level 1 to 24.

  14. DOT GRAPHIC FOR INTENSITY LEVELS:
Dot columns indicate the current and the upcoming intensity levels. The flashing dots show the current level. The steady dots to the right of the flashing ones show the next levels. Each dot represents 3 intensity levels. (Example: The intensity levels 6 to 8 are represented by 2 vertical dots, the levels 9 to 11 by 3 dots etc.). Maximum column height is 8 dots. Each column represents one minute training time; a maximum of 20 minutes is shown.

    • After 5 minutes of inactivity, the display will turn off and go black. To reactivate it, press one of the function keys, for example, the Start/Pause button.

DISPLAY COLOUR MODES

For the colour of your display light, you can choose from different options. Select the desired option with the ‘Colour mode’ button and the arrow buttons. (The actual colours may differ from the description.) In standby, the colour red is shown.

  1. PERFORMANCE BASED COLOURS: from WATTS or PULSE RATE
In this mode, the computer automatically sets the display colour according to your performance. This mode is the default setting after you have switched your device on. To return to this mode from constant colour, select colour code ‘C00’, as described in paragraph 2.

    • When the computer receives no pulse signal, it measures your current power in WATTS (W) and sets the display coulour accordingly.
      0-100 W| 101-150 W| 151-200 W| 201-250 W| 251-300 W| 301-350 W| > 350 W
      ---|---|---|---|---|---|---
      Blue| Aqua| Green| Yellow| Orange| Red| Purple
    • As soon as the computer receives a pulse signal from the sensors in the sensor bracket or from an external sensor, it sets the coulour depending on your PULSE RATE. In HrC mode, the target pulse you have set is taken as MHR (= Max. heart rate =100%). The display colour depends on which percentage of the MHR your current pulse makes.
      (Example: Target pulse = MHR = 160 BPM. Current pulse = 120 BPM = 75% of MHR => Colour is orange.)< 50% MHR| 50-57% MHR| 58-65% MHR| 66-73% MHR| 74-81% MHR| 82-89% MHR| ≥ 90% MHR
      ---|---|---|---|---|---|---
      Blue| Aqua| Green| Yellow| Orange| Red| Purple

In other training modes, your pulse determines the display colour as follows:****

< 110 BPM| 110-126 BPM| 127-144 BPM| 145-161 BPM| 162-179 BPM| 180-196 BPM| ≥ 197 BPM
---|---|---|---|---|---|---
Blue| Aqua| Green| Yellow| Orange| Red| Purple
2. CONSTANT COLOUR
You can set a constant colour:

  * Press ‘Colour mode’ button in stand-by mode for 3 seconds until ‘C00’ appears on the display.
  * Select the desired colour code with the ‘UP’/’DOWN’ buttons according to the following table. When the desired colour is displayed, press the ‘Colour mode’ button again for three seconds. The display then returns to stand-by mode.
C00 C01 C02 C03 C04 C05 C06 C07
(automatic) Blue Aqua Green Yellow Orange Red Purple
  1. LIGHTS OFF
You can switch off the display illumination and train without any visual effects.

    • To switch off the display light, press the ‘Colour mode’ button during your workout.
    • To switch it back on, press the button again.

NOTE: After five minutes of user’s inactivity, the illumination is switched off automatically, even when the training is still active.

IMPORTANT HEALTH NOTE!
Never overexert yourself or another person during training! Overexterion can have severe and even lasting consequences!

  • Always consider the individual basic fitness and daily form of the person exercising.
  • Use the pulse rate and the general well-being to assess this. Do not continue the training in case of limb pain, chest pain, nausea, shortness of breath or similar.
  • If necessary, seek medical advice before training; especially when you are older or have medical problems, or when you have only little experience in physical training!
  • Do not hesitate to immediately decrease the training intensity or to interrupt a training.

For setting and varying the TRAINING INTENSITY, you have the following options:

  • Manually setting the training intensity
