Product Information

  • The product is a luminaire that requires installation and operation in accordance with national safety regulations. It is recommended to have a qualified electrician carry out the installation and commissioning. The manufacturer does not accept liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. The luminaire is protected against overvoltage according to DIN EN 61547. Additional protection against transients is recommended and separate overvoltage protection components can be found on the manufacturer’s website.
  • The luminaire has a lamp module connected wattage of 17.2 W and a luminaire connected wattage of 19.5 W. The rated temperature is 25°C and the ambient temperature should not exceed 40°C. The color temperature of the LED module is 3000 K and the color rendering index (CRI) is greater than 90. The module has a luminous flux of 2655 lm and the luminaire has a luminous flux of 1731 lm. The luminaire has a luminous efficiency of 88.8 lm/W.
  • During installation or relamping, it is important to avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly. The luminaire housing must be positioned precisely in relation to the mounting plate for a secure connection. The trim ring with attached reflector should be screwed into the luminaire housing by turning it clockwise.
  • If the LED module needs to be replaced, the designation of the module can be found on a label in the luminaire. BEGA replacement modules have the same light color and light output as the original modules. Qualified persons can replace the module using standard tools. Before replacing, disconnect the electrical installation, open the luminaire, follow the installation instructions for the LED module, and then close the luminaire.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure the installation and operation of the luminaire comply with national safety regulations.
  2. Have a qualified electrician carry out the installation and commissioning.
  3. If additional protection against overvoltage and transients is desired, consider using separate overvoltage protection components available on the manufacturer’s website.
  4. Avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
  5. Precisely position the luminaire housing in relation to the mounting plate, ensuring the vertical bar inside the housing aligns with the mounting hole on the long bar of the mounting plate.
  6. Press the luminaire housing firmly against the mounting plate and turn it clockwise firmly against the stop.
  7. Screw the enclosed trim ring with attached reflector into the luminaire housing by turning it clockwise.
  8. To replace the LED module, disconnect the electrical installation, open the luminaire, and follow the installation instructions for the LED module.
  9. Close the luminaire after replacing the LED module.

  • The installation and operation of this luminaire are subject to national safety regulations. Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
  • The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. If subsequent modifications are made to the luminaire, the person responsible for these modifications shall be considered the manufacturer.

Overvoltage protection

  • The electronic components installed in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547.
  • To achieve an additional protection against e. g. transients, etc. we recommend separate overvoltage protection components.

Installation

  • LED are high-quality electronic components! Please avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.

  • Remove mounting plate from the luminaire housing.

  • Unplug the earth conductor connection (plug contact).
    Please note:
    If the luminaire is to be mounted onto a metallic, electroconductive surface, it is mandatory to make sure that the mounting surface is connected conductive to the earth conductor of the luminaire!

  • Lead the power connecting cable through the mounting plate.

  • Fix the mounting plate with enclosed or any other suitable fixing material onto the mounting surface.

  • Establish the earth conductor connection on the earthing screw (1) of the mounting plate. Establish the earth conductor connection to the luminaire housing (plug contact).

  • Make electrical connection to the terminals marked (L) and (N).

  • The two connecting terminals marked DA, DA are provided for digital control purposes.

  • If these terminals are not assigned, the luminaire will work with full light output.

IMPORTANT:
To ensure secure connection, the luminaire housing must be positioned precisely in relation to the mounting plate.

  • Make sure that the vertical bar inside the luminaire housing is positioned precisely in the area of the mounting hole on the long bar of the mounting plate.
  • Press the luminaire housing firmly against the mounting plate and turn it clockwise firmly against the stop.
  • Screw enclosed trim ring with attached reflector into the luminaire housing by turning it clockwise.

Cleaning · Maintenance

Clean luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers from dirt.

Replacing the LED module

  • The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire.
  • The light colour and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those of the modules originally fitted. The module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools.
  • Disconnect the electrical installation.
  • Open the luminaire.
  • Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module.
  • Close the luminaire.
