Intended use
- Delivers the sound of a TV with HDMI ARC connection to headphones, audio amplifiers or a stereo system, decoding Dolby Digital or DTS to stereo.
- Also passes the ARC sound unchanged to a soundbar
- Controls the volume at the outputs with the TV remote control via HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control)
Installation and operation
- Activate the HDMI CEC control on your TV. Depending on the manufacturer, this is also called Anynet+, Bravialink, Easylink, Simplink or Vieralink.
- Then connect the TV HDMI connection of the VMA00201 to the HDMI ARC connection of your TV. Optionally, you can connect the soundbar HDMI connection to the HD Ml-ARC connection of the soundbar or AV receiver. Be sure to use a fully connected HDMI cable for this purpose.
- Then power the VMA00201 using a USB socket on your TV or other device with the USB cable supplied.
- Connect your audio device (headphones, hearing amplifier, infrared/ Bluetooth transmitter) via jack plug to the 3.5 mm socket.
- With most TVs, the internal speakers are switched off when the adapter is active (ARC LED lights up). With some TVs, you still have to select the desired audio output via HDMI-ARC. It takes a few seconds until the connection is established.
- Adjust the volume louder or softer as usual with the TV remote control. The volume display on the TV may change from what you are used to.
- When the sound bar is active, the headphone output is at maximum volume and the TV remote control only controls the sound bar.
