Product Information

The product is a luminaire that requires installation and operation in accordance with national safety regulations. It is recommended to have a qualified electrician carry out the installation and commissioning. The manufacturer is not liable for any damage caused by improper use or installation. The luminaire is equipped with electronic components that are protected against overvoltage according to DIN EN 61547. The luminaire features an LED module with a connected wattage of 14.8 W and a luminaire-connected wattage of 17.2 W. The module designation is LED-0700/9TW. The colour temperature of the luminaire is adjustable from 2700 to 6500 K. It has a colour rendering index of 1R8a8>0 and a module luminous flux of 90 lm. The luminaire luminous flux is 1303 lm with a luminous efficiency of 75.8 lm/W. There are various accessories available for this luminaire, including an installation housing and spare parts such as a dispersing lens, spare glass, LED power supply unit, LED module, trim ring, gasket glass, etc. Separate instructions for use can be provided for these accessories upon request.

Product Usage Instructions

Safety

  1. Ensure that the installation and operation of the luminaire comply with national safety regulations.
  2. Only a qualified electrician should carry out the installation and commissioning.
  3. The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage caused by improper use or installation.
  4. Any modifications made to the luminaire should be done by the person responsible for those modifications, who will be considered the manufacturer.

Overvoltage Protection

  1. The luminaire is equipped with electronic components that are protected against overvoltage according to DIN EN 61547.
  2. For additional protection against transients and other events, it is recommended to use separate overvoltage protection components.

Setting the Colour Temperature

  1. The LED colour temperature of the luminaire can be adjusted from 2700 to 6500 K (Tunable White).
  2. To set the LED colour temperature, ensure that the controller used supports DALI Device Type 8.
  3. If no LED colour temperature setting is made, the default value of 3000 K will be used.

Application

  • Recessed ceiling luminaire · indoor luminaire with hand-blown crystal glass and metal housing and external LED power supply unit.
  • A focusing / dispersing lens bundles the powerful LED light in the centre of the reflector for a direct proportion of downlight. At the same time, a proportion of the dispersed light is used to illuminate the luminaire glass and to generate the vertical illuminance.

Setting the colour temperature

  • The LED colour temperature of the luminaire can be set from 2700 to 6500 K (“Tunable White”).

Please note: To be able to set the LED colour temperature, the controller used must support DALI Device Type 8. If no LED colour temperature setting is made, 3000 K will be used by default.

Installation

  • Luminaire housing must not be installed in heat-insulating material.
  • LED are high-quality electronic components!
  • Please avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
  • The recessed opening is covered by the frame of the luminaire housing.
  • Fixing of the luminaire in the structure is achieved by using two adjustable wedge-shaped claws.

Installation into concrete ceilings

  • For this purpose installation housing 13 026 is available.

Installation into inserted ceilings

  • A recessed opening of ø 161 mm is necessary to accept the luminaire housing.
  • Recessed depth min. 45 mm.
  • The lateral distance between recessed luminaire and other building parts must be at least 50 mm.
  • The claws catch the ceiling facing from the back side. Minimum thickness of the ceiling facing is 3 mm. If the ceiling facing has a thickness of less than 10 mm or in case of an installation into plasterboard ceilings, the facing thickness in the region of the claws must be increased from the back side.

Open luminaire

  • Remove glass from luminaire housing by turning it counter-clockwise.
  • Open cover of the LED-power supply unit and lead mains supply cable into it.
  • Make electrical connection to the terminals.
  • For digital control please use the connecting terminal DA, DA.
  • In case this terminal is not used the luminaire will be operated at full light output.
  • Close cover of the LED-power supply unit.
  • Push external LED power supply unit and luminaire housing into the ceiling cut-out.
  • Luminaire housing and external LED power supply unit must not be installed in heat-insulating material.
  • Tighten evenly screws of claw fasteners.
  • Impress the enclosed cover ring about the sealing ring onto the glass.
  • Make sure that the sealing ring is seated correctly!
  • Slide enclosed – separately packed – dispersing lens into the reflector.
  • Screw glass with cover ring and dispersing lens into the luminaire housing.
  • Make sure that gasket is positioned correctly.

Maintenance

Cleaning /Maintenance

  • Clean luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers from dirt.
  • Defective glass must be replaced.

Replacing the LED module

  • The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire.
  • The light colour and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those of the modules originally fitted.
  • The module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools.
  • Disconnect the system and open the luminaire.
  • Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module.
  • Inspect and, if necessary, replace the luminaire gaskets.
  • Defective glass must be replaced.
  • Close the luminaire.
