Product Information

The product is a luminaire that requires installation and operation according to national safety regulations. It is recommended to have a qualified electrician carry out the installation and commissioning. The manufacturer does not accept liability for any damage caused by improper use or installation. The luminaire is equipped with electronic components that are protected against overvoltage according to DIN EN 61547. Product Usage Instructions

1. The recessed opening should be covered by attaching the installation ring.
2. To fix the luminaire, use the 2 adjustable claws provided.
3. Avoid direct contact with the LEDs during installation or relamping.
4. To remove the glass with reflector from the luminaire housing, turn it counter-clockwise.
5. The electrical connection should be made on-site using the appropriate safety class on the LED power supply unit connecting cable. A distribution box must be used.
6. Ensure the correct assignment of the connecting cable and establish the mains connection on the brown (L) and blue (N) wires.
7. Push the external LED power supply unit and luminaire housing into the ceiling cut-out.
8. Tighten the screws of the claw fasteners evenly by hand.
9. Insert the glass with a mounted reflector by turning it clockwise\ into the luminaire housing. Ensure that the gasket is positioned correctly.
10. Mount the ceiling frame ring (magnetic) onto the installation ring of the housing.

• Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.

• If subsequent modifications are made to the luminaire, the person responsible for these modifications shall be considered the manufacturer.

Overvoltage protection

• The electronic components installed in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547.
• To achieve additional protection against e. g. transients, etc. we recommend separate overvoltage protection components.

Installation

• The recessed opening will be covered by the attachment of the installation ring.
• Fixing of the luminaire is achieved by using 2 adjustable claws.
• LEDs are high-quality electronic components!
• Please avoid touching them directly during installation or relamping.

Installation into false ceilings

• A recessed opening of Ø 95 mm is necessary to accept the luminaire housing. Free space depth min. 60 mm.
• The claws catch the panel from the reverse side.
• If the minimum thickness of the panel is less than 3 mm it must be reinforced from the reverse side.
• The maximum thickness of the panel must be no more than 20 mm.
• The notch in the installation ring indicates the direction of the maximum pivoting range (35°) of the luminaire housing.
• Remove glass with reflector from luminaire housing by turning counter-clockwise.
• The electrical connection must be made on-site in the appropriate safety class on the LED power supply unit connecting cable. A distribution box must be used.
• Ensure the correct assignment of the connecting cable. Establish the main connection on the brown (L) and blue (N) wires.
• Push external LED-power supply unit and luminaire housing into ceiling cut-out.
• Hand-tight screws of claw fasteners evenly.
• Insert glass with mounted reflector by turning it clockwise into luminaire housing.
• Make sure that gasket is positioned correctly.
• Mount the ceiling frame ring (magnetic) onto the installation ring of the housing.

Cleaning And Maintenance

• Clean the luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers from dirt.
• The defective glass must be replaced.

Replacement of the LED module

• The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire.
• The light colour and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those of the modules originally fitted. The module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools.
• Disconnect from the main supply.
• Remove the glass with the reflector from the housing by turning it counter-clockwise.
• Pull the ceiling frame ring off the installation ring of the pivoting housing.
• Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module.
• Check gasket. Screw in glass with mounted reflector by turning it clockwise into luminaire housing.
• Mount the ceiling frame ring onto the installation ring of the housing.
• The defective glass must be replaced.
