SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING!
Read all the safety instructions and other instructions. Failure to follow all
the instructions and safety instructions can result in the risk of electric
shock, fire, and/ or serious personal injury. Save all warnings and
instructions for future reference. The term “power tool” in all the warnings
below refers to mains-powered (corded) or battery-powered (cordless) power
tools.
WORK AREA
- Keep the work area clean and well lit. Dark and cluttered work areas increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Do not use power tools in explosive environments, such as in the vicinity of flammable liquids, gas, or dust. Power tools produce sparks that can ignite dust and fumes.
- Keep onlookers, especially children, at a safe distance when using power tools.
- You can easily lose control of the power tool if you are distracted.
- The work area should be well-ventilated.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
- The plug on the power tool must match the powerpoint. Never modify the plug in any way. Never use an adapter with earthed power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets reduce the risk of electric shock.
- Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators, cookers, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
- Do not expose power tools to rain or moisture. There is a greater risk of electric shock if water gets into a power tool.
- Be careful with the power cord. Never use the power cord to carry or pull the tool, or to pull out the plug from the mains socket. Keep the power cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and moving parts. Damaged or tangled power cords increase the risk of electric shock.
- If using the tool outdoors, only use an extension cord approved for outdoor use. Cords intended for outdoor use reduce the risk of electric shock.
- If it is absolutely necessary to use power tools in damp conditions, use a mains connection protected by a residual current device (RDC). A residual current device reduces the risk of electric shock.
- Do not use the tool if the power cord is damaged. Pull out the plug immediately if the cord is damaged when working. Do not pull the power cord to disconnect the plug from the mains socket. Damaged power cords increase the risk of electric shock.
PERSONAL SAFETY
- Stay alert. Pay attention to what you are doing, and use your common sense when working with power tools. Never use power tools if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention or carelessness can result in serious personal injury.
- Use personal safety equipment. Wear safety glasses or a face mask. Depending on the type of tool and how it is used, safety equipment such as dust masks, non-slip safety shoes, safety helmets, and ear protection reduce the risk of personal injury.
- Avoid accidental starting. Check that the power switch is in the OFF position before plugging in the plug or battery, or lifting/ carrying the tool. Carrying a power tool with your finger on the switch or connecting a tool to the mains supply when the switch is in the ON position increases the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Remove adjuster keys/spanners before switching on the power tool. Spanners or the like that are left in a rotating part of the power tool can cause personal injury.
- Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. This ensures better control over the power tool in unexpected situations.
- Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose-fitting clothing, jewelry, and long hair can get caught in moving parts.
- If dust extraction and dust collection equipment are available, this should be connected and used correctly. The use of such devices can reduce the risk of dust-related problems. Clean the ventilation openings regularly. The accumulation of metal dust can cause the metal parts of the tool to become life —at risk of electric shock.
- Do not allow familiarity with similar tools to lead to exaggerated self-confidence and neglect the safety instructions for the tool. A moment of inattention or carelessness can result in serious personal injury.
USE AND CARE
- Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for the planned work. The tool does the job better and more safely when used at the rate for which it was designed.
- Do not use the power tool if it cannot be switched on and off with the power switch. Power tools that cannot be controlled with the power switch are dangerous and must be repaired.
- Pull out the plug and/or remove the battery before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or putting the power tool away. These safety precautions reduce the risk of accidentally starting the power tool.
- Store power tools out of the reach of children when not in use. Never allow children or anyone who is unfamiliar with the power tool and these instructions, to use the tool. Power tools are dangerous if used by inexperienced persons.
- Maintain power tools and accessories. Check that moving parts are properly adjusted and do not jam, and that no parts are incorrectly fitted or damaged. Check for other factors that could affect functionality. If a power tool is damaged it must be repaired before it is used again. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
- Use the power tool, accessories, bits etc., in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the actual working conditions and the work that is to be done. It can be dangerous to use power tools for purposes other than those for which they are intended to be used.
- Keep handles and grips clean, dry, and free from oil and grease. Greasy handles and grips make it difficult to hold and control the tool in unexpected situations.
SERVICE
Power tools must only be serviced by qualified personnel using identical spare
parts. This will ensure that the power tool remains safe to use.
SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Only use accessories recommended by the manufacturer. The use of other accessories can result in a risk of personal injury.
- Only use the tool for dry sanding. There is an increased risk of electric shock if water enters a power tool.
- Find out whether sanding the surface in question can produce toxic dust and/or fumes. Dust/fumes from wood, metal, paint, etc. can cause allergic reactions and/or can be harmful to health. Observe special care and avoid inhaling and skin contact with such materials. Materials that contain asbestos should only be handled by qualified personnel.
- Do not put your hands under the workpiece — risk of personal injury.
- Make sure there are no nails, screws or other foreign objects in the workpieces.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Hold the power tool by the insulated grips when working in areas where the tool may come into contact with concealed electrical cables or its own power cord. Contact with a live cable will cause the metal parts on the tool to also become live — the risk of electric shock.
- Before starting work on walls, ceilings, or floors, check that there are no concealed electrical cables or conduits. Use a live wire detector, or ask an electrician for help. Failure to observe these instructions could result in the risk of fire, explosion, electric shock, personal injury, and/or material damage.
- Avoid accidental starting. Switch off the tool if the power supply is disconnected, e.g. as a result of a power cut or if the power cord is pulled out.
- Secure the workpiece. Secure the workpiece with clamps or a vice. Never hold the workpiece with your hand.
- Keep the work area clean. The mixing of dust from different materials is especially dangerous. Dust from light metals, e.g. aluminum, can ignite or explode.
- Avoid overheating the tool and workpiece — the risk of material damage.
- Do not touch accessories during or immediately after use — the risk of burn injury.
- Never clean hot tools with flammable agents — risk of fire and/or explosion.
- In addition to these instructions, you should always comply with local regulations and laws concerning health, safety, and the environment.
- Do not remove or cover symbols and markings on the product. Replace any stickers that have become illegible or lost.
VIBRATION
The total vibration value ah for the handle that vibrates most must be
specified, in similarity with the uncertainty K.
Minimisation of noise and vibration
To reduce noise and vibrations when in use, limit the time the tool is in use. Use power modes with low vibration modes and noise levels, and use suitable safety equipment. Take the following precautions to minimize the risks of exposure to vibrations and/or noise.
- Only use the product as it is intended to be used and in accordance with these instructions.
- Make sure that the product is in good condition.
- Use accessories in good condition, which are suitable for the purpose.
- Keep a firm grip on the handles/grips.
- Maintain the product in accordance with these instructions and keep it well lubricated (where appropriate). Plan the work so that exposure to heavy vibrations is spread over a longer period.

The declared values for vibration and noise, which have been measured
according to a standardized test method, can be used to compare different
tools with each other and for a preliminary assessment of exposure. The
measurement values have been determined in accordance with EN 62841-2-4:2014.
WARNING!
The actual vibration and noise level when using tools may differ from the
specified maximum value, depending on how the tool is used and the material.
It is, therefore, necessary to determine which safety precautions are required
to protect the user, based on an estimate of exposure in actual operating
conditions (taking into account all stages of the work cycle, e.g. the time
when the tool is switched off and when it is idling, in addition to the start-
up time).

How To us
- Hold the sander firmly in both hands. Press it lightly against the surface to be sanded.
NOTE:
-
it can pull away on first contact with the workpiece. It is recommended to work with a circular action. Check the sandpaper at regular intervals and replace if damaged. It is recommended to work with different grades of sandpaper if you need to sand a large irregularity on the workpiece. Grade 60 is recommended for coarse sanding, grade 80 for intermediate and light sanding, and grade 120 for fine sanding.
-
Fine adjustments The sandpaper pad moves in small, circular rotations when sanding. This ensures that the sandpaper sands in all directions. Because of the circular action, it does not matter how you hold the sander, or in which direction you move it. You seldom need to apply pressure to the tool.
-
The basic principle when sanding is to use the right sandpaper to smooth the surface irregularities. Using sandpaper that is too coarse will not smooth the surface, on the contrary — it will become rougher. Sandpaper that is too fine will not remove irregularities or will do so too slowly.
-
Coarse sandpaper is needed to sand some materials at first, whereas medium-grade sandpaper is needed for more sensitive surfaces. If in doubt always start with finer sandpaper. If this does not work, use coarser sandpaper and then switch to fine-grade sandpaper again. Be careful when using coarse sandpaper to avoid sanding through the edges and veneer.
-
Anold and well-known trick to produce a fine surface is “grain enlargement”. Moisten the already sanded surface with a damp cloth or sponge and allow it to dry.
Water causes some wood fibers to swell more than others, which results in their surface being thicker that the others. Sand it with fine paper to remove nippled parts. The result is a fine, smooth surface. This method should not be used, however, on veneer surfaces where water must not penetrate the veneer. -
Decoration before removing paint or lacquer from doors, window frames, etc. First check if the existing surface treatment is in good condition, or not. It can be considered to be in poor condition if there are cracks and flakes on the surface that can easily be removed with a wire brush or spatula. If the old layer is solid there is no reason to remove it. You can lightly sand it to remove all imperfections. By doing this you prepare the surface for a new coat. Start by using coarse sandpaper to smooth the old coating and then use fine sandpaper to prepare the surface for primer. Check that you have removed all the irregularities on the old coating. It is easy to smooth places with old patches. Slightly tilt the sander against one edge of the pressure plate and focus a light sanding action at that point, where the paint is hard until it has become smoothed out. If a large part of the old coating is in good condition, but there are one or two patches of poor paint, remove all of the poor parts with coarse sandpaper and then smooth out the good paint to form an overall smooth surface. If all of the surface to be painted is very smooth, wipe off any dust and then apply one or two coats of primer. Sand the primer with fine sandpaper before applying the top coat.
-
When sanding painted surfaces, check the sandpaper at regular intervals to ensure that it is not coated with gummy material from the sanded surface. If so, replace the sandpaper.
MAINTENANCE
Always unplug the power cord from the power point before cleaning and
maintenance.
CLEANING
Clean the ventilation openings at regular intervals.
WARNING!
Never clean any part of the tool with a hard, sharp or rough object.
STORAGE
- Put the orbital sander into storage if it is not going to be used for some time.
- Do not store the orbital sander in a hot place. Store the orbital sander in a place with a constant temperature and humidity if possible.
