Read all warnings, safety instructions and other instructions carefully before
use. Failure to follow all the instructions and safety instructions can result
in the risk of electric shock, fire and/or serious personal injury.
- Save these instructions and safety instructions for future reference.
- The term “power tool” in all the warnings below refers to mains-powered (corded) or battery-powered (cordless) power tools.
WORK AREA
- Keep the work area clean and well lit. Dark and cluttered work areas increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Do not use power tools in explosive environments, such as in the vicinity of flammable liquids, gas or dust. Power tools produce sparks that can ignite dust and fumes.
- Keep onlookers, especially children, and pets at a safe distance when using power tools. You can easily lose control of the product if you are distracted.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
- Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators, cookers and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
- Do not expose power tools to rain or moisture. There is a greater risk of electric shock if water gets into a power tool.
PERSONAL SAFETY
- Stay alert. Pay attention to what you are doing, and use your common sense when working with power tools. Never use power tools if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Remember that a fraction of a second of inattention or negligence can result in serious personal injury.
- Use personal safety equipment. Wear safety glasses. Depending on the type of product and how it is used, safety equipment such as dust masks, non-slip safety shoes, safety helmets and ear protection reduce the risk of personal injury.
- Avoid accidental starting. Check that the power switch is in the OFF position before plugging in the plug or battery, or lifting/ carrying the product. Carrying a power tool with your finger on the switch, or connecting a tool to the mains supply when the switch is in the ON position, increases the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Remove any adjuster keys and the like before starting the product. Spanners or the like that are left in a rotating part of the product can cause personal injury.
- Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. This ensures better control over the power tool in unexpected situations.
- Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose-fitting clothing, jewellery and long hair can get caught in moving parts.
- Check that the grass catcher is correctly installed and working.
USE AND CARE
- Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for the planned work. The power tool does the job better and safer when used at the rate for which it was designed.
- Do not use the power tool if it cannot be switched on and off with the power switch. Power tools that cannot be controlled with the power switch are dangerous and must be repaired.
- Pull out the plug and/or remove the battery before making any adjustments, changing accessories or putting the power tool away. These safety precautions reduce the risk of accidentally starting the power tool.
- Store power tools out of the reach of children when not in use. Never allow children, or anyone who is unfamiliar with the power tool and these instructions, to use the tool. Power tools are dangerous if used by inexperienced persons.
- Maintain and take good care of power tools. Check before use that moving parts are properly adjusted and do not jam, and that no parts are damaged. Check for other factors that could affect the functionality of the product. Have the product repaired before using it again. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
- Use the power tool, accessories and bits etc., in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the actual working conditions and the work that is to be done. It can be dangerous to use power tools for purposes other than those for which they are intended to be used.

FIG. 15
LAWN MOWING
- A lawn consists of different types of grass. Mowing a lawn often benefits grass with strong roots and forms a thick and firm lawn.
- The normal height for a lawn is about 4–5 cm. Do not cut more than about 1/3 of the height at one go, i.e. from 7–8 cm to normal height.
- Do not mow the lawn shorter than 4 cm, this can cause it to dry out.
- Cut high grass in steps.
- Overlap each row a little when mowing.
- If possible, avoid cutting wet grass. Cut the grass when it is dry.
- Be very careful when changing direction on slopes. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. Work across slopes, never up and down.
- Do not mow slopes with a gradient of more than 15° – risk of personal injury.
WARNING!
Be very careful when going backwards or pulling the product towards you – risk
of tripping over.
Mowing with the grass catcher
The grass catcher has a level indicator. It is held open by the flow of air
produced by the product when in use. When the flap closes during the mowing
this means that the grass catcher is full and must be emptied. Check that the
opening under the flap is clean and lets through air, otherwise the level
indicator will not work properly. Empty the grass catcher if grass cuttings
are left on the ground.
WARNING!
Switch off the product, wait until all moving parts have completely stopped
and remove the safety key before removing the grass catcher.
Emptying the grass catcher
- To remove the grass catcher, lift up the flap with one hand, grip the grass catcher handle with the other, and lift out the grass catcher.
- When the grass catcher is removed the flap falls down and covers the ejector opening.
- If there is grass left in the opening, pull the lawn mower backwards about 1 metre to make it easier to start the motor.
- Never clear the mower deck or blade with your hands or feet – use a brush or other suitable tool. Clean the grass catcher after it has been used for best functionality, especially the air grille.
- Lift up the ejector flap with one hand and hook on the grass catcher from above with the other hand. Only fit the grass catcher when the product is switched off and the moving parts are not moving.
Mowing with the mulching unit
- When using the mulching unit the grass is shredded and spread out on the lawn. It is not necessary to collect up the grass and dispose of it.
- To use the mulching unit, remove the grass catcher, insert the adapter for the mulching unit in the ejector opening and close the ejector.
FIG. 16
FIG. 17
NOTE :
The mulching unit should only be used when the grass is relatively short.

Clean the product after it has been used.
- Remove the battery.
- Remove the grass catcher.
- Clean the product with a brush after use.
- Carefully remove residual grass from underneath the mower deck with a wooden stick or something similar.
- Keep the ventilation openings free from dust and dirt. Never pour or swill water on the product.
- Clean the motor casing with a damp cloth. Do not use detergents or solvents. This can damage the plastic parts on the product. Wipe the engine casing all over.
- Check the condition of the blade.
GRASS CATCHER
The grass catcher can be rinsed with water when removed from the lawn mower.
REMOVING AND SHARPENING THE BLADE
NOTE :
Remove the battery from the mower before servicing or cleaning.
When the blade becomes blunt it should be removed and sharpened.
- Undo the nut holding the blade.
- Release the blade and carefully clean the contact surfaces. If the blade is very worn it should be replaced with a new one.
- Sharpen the blade.
- Fit the blade on the lawn mower and firmly tighten the nut.
- Only use spare parts recommended by the manufacturer.
FIG. 18
STORAGE
NOTE :
Remove the safety key before putting into storage.
- Store the lawn mower in a dry place and frost-free (10–25°C).
- Store the battery and lawn mower separately.
- Charge the battery before putting into storage if it is not going to be used for some time.
- Never let brake fluid, petrol, oil-based products, penetrating oils, etc. come into contact with plastic parts.
- Store the lawn mower away from corrosive substances, such as salt and fertilizer.
TRANSPORT
- Remove the battery from lawn mower before transport.
