DAC 4024E BATTERY HEDGE TRIMMER

Product Information
The DAC 4024E Battery Hedge Trimmer is an electric hedge trimmer that operates on a Li-Ion 20V 4 Ah battery. It has a powerful electric motor with brushes, that has a power output of 80 Wh and can operate at a speed of 3000rpm. The trimmer has a rotary handle, a blade length of 450mm and can cut through branches up to 16mm in diameter. The handle vibrations are at a safe level of 2.27 m/s2, 1.37 m/s2, K=1.5 m/s2. It weighs 2.75 kg and is designed for easy use.

Assembly Instructions

Installing and Removing the Battery
To install the battery, align it with the battery slot and push it in until it clicks into place. To remove the battery, press the battery release button and slide the battery out of the slot.

Switching On/Off
To switch on the trimmer, press and hold the on/off switch located on the handle. To switch off the trimmer, release the switch.

Maintenance and Storage
After use, clean the blades with a soft cloth and store the trimmer in a dry place. It is recommended to charge the battery at an interval of 6 months to 1 year.

GENERAL SAFETY RULES

SAVE THESE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.
WARNING: Do not use this electric clipper until you have read this instruction manual and are familiar with the safety, operating, and maintenance instructions.

WORK AREA SAFETY

• Keep the work area clean and well lit.
• Do not use power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of liquids, gases or fuel vapors. Power tools create sparks that can ignite fuel gases or vapors.
• Keep children and bystanders away. All visitors and pets must be kept a safe distance from the work area.
• Do not allow children or untrained persons to use this machine.
• Do not expose power tools to rain or moisture. If water gets into a power tool, it will increase the risk of electric shock.
• Do not handle the plug or tool with wet hands.
• Never allow children to operate the equipment. Never allow adults to operate the equipment without proper instruction.
• Always wear goggles and a protective mask.
• Clip long hair above shoulder level to prevent it from getting caught in moving parts.
• Do not expose the machine to rain, store it indoors.
• Do not operate in low light conditions.
• Keep all parts of your body away from any moving part of the machine.
• Wear long pants, safety boots and gloves. Avoid loose clothing and jewelry that can get caught in moving parts of the machine.
• Do not force the machine.
• Do not use the equipment barefoot or with sandals or inappropriate footwear. Wear protective footwear.
• Maintain a firm posture and balance when using the electric scissors.
• Do not use the tool if the switch is not functional.
• Keep all bystanders, children and pets at least 50 meters away.
• Do not use this unit when you are tired, ill, or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.
• Keep all parts of your body away from moving parts and all hot surfaces of the tool.
• Check the work area before each use. Remove all objects such as stones, broken glass, nails, wire or string that can be thrown or caught in the machine.
• Use only original spare parts and accessories from the manufacturer. Use of any other part may create a hazard or cause damage to the product.
• Do not charge the battery tool in the rain or in a wet place. This rule will reduce the risk of electric shock.
• Tools with batteries must not be connected to an electrical outlet; so they are always in working condition. Be aware of potential hazards even when not using the cordless tool or when changing accessories. Following this rule will reduce the risk of electric shock, fire or serious personal injury.
• Disconnect the battery before servicing or cleaning the machine.
• Use only batteries recommended by the manufacturer.
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire, the cells may explode. Consult local regulations for possible special disposal instructions.
• Do not open or damage batteries. The released electrolyte is corrosive and can cause skin and eye irritation. May be toxic if swallowed.
• Do not place battery tools or their batteries near fire or heat. This will reduce the risk of explosion.
• Do not crush, drop or damage the battery. Do not use a damaged battery or charger.
• Do not point the tool at people or pets .
• When not in use, the tool should be stored indoors in a dry, locked area out of the reach of children.

PERSONAL SECURITY

• Do not use the tool on a ladder or on an unstable stand. A stable base on a solid surface allows better control of the power tool.

USE AND MAINTENANCE

• Familiarize yourself with the tool. Read the manual carefully, learn about its applications and limitations, and specific potential hazards associated with this machine.
• Check for misaligned or jammed moving parts, broken parts, and any other defects that could affect the operation of the tool. If damaged, repair the power tool before using it.
• Do not force the power tool. Use the power tool correctly for your application.
• Disconnect the battery from the power tool before making adjustments, changing accessories or storing power tools.
• Check the operation of the tool before using it.
• Keep the cutting blade sharp and clean.
• Do not use the tool if it does not have a legible warning label.
• Use the power tool in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions. Using the power tool for operations other than those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

Battery safety rules

• Tools with batteries must not be connected to an electrical outlet; therefore, they are always in working order. Following this rule will reduce the risk of electric shock, fire or serious personal injury.
  WARNING: When transporting or servicing the unit, always disconnect the battery.

Serving

• Tool maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel. His service maintenance performed by unqualified personnel may increase the risk of accidents.
• When servicing a tool, use only original spare parts.

SAFETY STANDARDS

• Use both hands when operating the hedge trimmer. Using one hand can cause loss of control and cause serious personal injury.

• Keep all parts of your body away from the cutting blade. Make sure the power switch is off when removing the jammed material. The blades slide after the tool is stopped. A moment of inattention while using the electric hedge trimmer can result in serious personal injury.

• Use the tool only with the handle and guard properly mounted on it. Using the tool without the proper guard or handle provided can cause serious personal injury.

• Carry the electric shears by the handle and with the cutting blade off. Proper handling of the tool will reduce the possibility of personal injury from cutting blades.

• Always wear glasses with side eye protection.

• Clean the cutting area before each use. Remove all objects such as cables, wires or strings. They can get caught in the blade and create a risk of serious injury to the operator.

• Before starting the electric scissors, make sure that the blade does not come into contact with any object.

• Turn off the tool, disconnect the battery and make sure the blade has stopped before storing it.

• Always stop the tool when moving from one cutting location to another.

• Store the tool indoors in a dry, locked place to prevent unauthorized use . Keep out of reach of children or untrained persons.

• Do not spray water or any other liquid on the tool. Keep the handles dry and clean.
  Clean the tool after each use.

• Secure the unit during transport.

• Disconnect the battery before making any adjustments, cleaning, before storage or when not in use.

• If the battery breaks or breaks, whether it is leaking or not, please do not recharge or use it. Replace it with a new one.
  DO NOT TRY TO REPAIR IT

• Never use water or any other liquid to clean or rinse the product and do not expose it to rain or wet conditions. Store the tool indoors in a dry area.

The battery benefits from the “α UP-Innovation RURIS” function. This function helps the battery when it reaches the critical discharge threshold. Ruris came up with an innovation in the system of cells inside the battery, through which the battery can be recharged after a long period of time in which it has been discharged. Thus, RURIS users can enjoy the reliability and innovation of RURIS.
After storage, charging is recommended at an interval of 6 months – 1 year

TECHNICAL DATA

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING:
If any part is damaged or missing, do not use this tool until the parts are replaced.
Using the electric shears with damaged or missing parts can result in serious personal injury.
Do not attempt to modify the tool or create accessories not recommended for use with it.
WARNING:
Do not connect the battery until assembly is complete. Failure to do so could result in accidental start-up and possible personal injury.
WARNING:
Before mounting, make sure the tool is turned off and the battery is disconnected.

INSTALLING AND REMOVING THE BATTERY
IMPORTANT!!
The battery is not charged upon purchase. Before using the power tool for the first time, charge the battery. Be sure to read all safety precautions in the battery manual.
To install the battery in the bottom of the handle, align the rails on the battery with the rails on the handle and push the battery into the handle until it locks onto the tool.
To disconnect the battery, press the battery release button, slide the battery back, and then pull or lift the battery
WARNING: Follow the instructions in the battery user manual to avoid battery damage or possible accidents.
The cutting blade guard prevents the operator from coming into contact with the sharp blades when the tool is not in use.
It also helps prevent blade damage when the tool is stored.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

WARNING: Read and fully understand all instructions and safety information before using the electric scissors. Failure to do so could result in serious injury or death.
Do not allow anyone to operate this tool unless they have read this manual. Electric scissors can be dangerous if assembled or misused. Do not use if you have any doubts or questions about safe operation.

STARTING/STOPPING

• Remove the cutting blade guard.
• To prevent accidental starting of the tool, it is equipped with safety switches.
• To turn on the electric shears it is necessary to activate both the trigger on the rear handle and the switch on the front handle.
• To stop the electric shears, release the trigger on the rear handle or the lock switch on the front handle.

Adjusting the rotary handle
The handle can be rotated 45° or 90° to the left or right

To rotate the handle:

• Disconnect the battery
• Press the button on the rotary handle.
• Turn the handle to the right or left.
• Release the button on the rotary handle.
• Continue turning the handle until it locks into one of the positions.
  Note: The handle locks when its rotary knob is in position and the handle will not move any further.
  WARNING: The unit has one front and one rear handle. Always keep both hands on the handles of the electric scissors.

Never hold the hedge with one hand and operate the tool with the other.

CUTTING TIPS
WARNING: Never cut near cables or power lines. If the blade gets caught in a cable or power line, DO NOT TOUCH THE BLADE! Continue to hold the tool by the insulated rear handle. Disconnect the damaged electrical cord before attempting to free the blade. Contact with the blade, other conductive parts or live electrical cables will result in death by electrocution or serious injury.

• Before starting the electric shears, hold it with both hands, with the cutting blades facing away from you. Always use the tool correctly.
• Do not force the electric scissors.
• Do not attempt to cut stems or branches that are larger than 16 mm in diameter.
• If the blades jam, stop the tool, allow the blade to stop and disconnect the battery before clearing the jam.
• Wear gloves when cutting thorny plants.

MAINTENANCE

• WARNING: Always disconnect the tool’s battery before inspecting, cleaning or performing any maintenance.
• WARNING: Never use water or any other liquid to clean or rinse the electric scissors. Remove any build-up of dirt and debris by cleaning the tool with a dry cloth.
• Note: Periodically inspect the entire product for damaged, missing, or loose parts such as screws, nuts, caps, etc. Tighten all fasteners and covers securely.

MAINTENANCE, STORAGE

• Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics can be damaged by various types of commercial solvents. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.

Storage

• Always place the guard on the blade before storing or transporting the electric shears. Avoid contact with the sharp teeth of the blade.
• Clean the electro scissors thoroughly before storing them.

BLADE LUBRICATION
WARNING: Always let the blades stop and disconnect the tool battery before lubricating. Failure to do so could result in accidental start-up which could cause serious personal injury.
For easier operation and longer blade life, lubricate the blade before and after each use.

• Disconnect the battery.
• Place the electric scissors on a flat surface. Apply oil along the blade.
• Reinstall the battery and resume use.

NOTE: If you plan to not use the electric scissors for a long period of time, it is recommended to lubricate the blade periodically.

CLEANING

• Disconnect the battery.
• Slide the guard over the blade.
• Clean dirt and debris from the body of the electric scissors with a cloth moistened with a household detergent.
• Moisture increases the risk of electric shock. Wipe off any moisture with a soft, dry cloth.
• Use a small brush or the air outlet of a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the blade and motor housing.

NOTE: Do not use strong detergents on the plastic housing or handle.

Do not dispose of electrical equipment, industrial electronics and components in household waste! Information on WEEE. Considering the provisions of GEO 195/2005 – regarding environmental protection and GEO 5/2015. Consumers will consider the following indications for handing over electrical waste, specified below:

• Consumers have the obligation not to dispose of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) as unsorted municipal waste and to collect this WEEE separately.
• The collection of these named wastes (WEEE) will be carried out through the Public Collection Service within each county and through collection centers organized by economic operators authorized for the collection of WEEE. Information provided by the Environmental Fund Administration www.afm.ro or the journal of the European Union.
• Consumers can hand in WEEE free of charge at the previously specified collection points.
