mxion KLI Spin Module
Introduction
Dear customer, we strongly recommend that you read these manuals and the
warning notes thoroughly before installing and operating your device. The
device is not a toy (15+).
NOTE : Make sure that the outputs are set to appropriate value before
hooking up any other device. We can’t be responsible For any damage if this is
disregarded.
General information
We recommend studying this manual thoroughly before installing and operating
your new device. Place the decoder in a protected location. The unit must not
be exposed to moisture.
NOTE : Some funktions are only available with the latest firmware. Please
make sure that your device is programmed with the latest firmware.
Summary of Funktions
- DC/AC/DCC/PWM/ANALOG operation
- 2 separate function inputs
- 2 function outputs switchable with K1, K2
- Switching amplifier usable
- Fire imitation modul usable
- Sirene light imitation modul usable
- Railroad crossing sign lighting usable
- Petroleum imitation modul usable
- Fluorescent imitation modul usable
- Mode set via dip switches
- Robust, simple screw clamp
Scope of supply
- Manual
- mXion KLI
Hook-Up
Install your device in compliance with the connecting diagrams in this manual.
The device is protected against shorts and excessive loads. However, in case
of a connection error e.g. a short this safety feature can’t work and the
device will be destroyed subsequently.
Make sure that there is no short circuit caused by the mounting screws or
metal.
Connectors
Switch consumption between A1 and + or A2 and +. By connecting K1 and or K2 and can the associated output be switched.
Example Petroleum/Neon
- NEON: 1 = OFF, 2 = ON
- PETROLEUM: 1 = 2 = OFF
Example Blue-Light-Simulation
- With K2 the simulation can be switched.
- K1 must NOT be interconnected.
- Use blue LEDs.
- 1 = ON, 2 = OFF
Example Railroadcrossinglights
- With K1+K2 the simulation can be switched.
- Use red LEDs.
- 1 = ON, 2 = OFF
Example Fire
- With K1 the simulation can be switched.
- K2 must NOT be interconnected.
- Use a orange and a red LED.
- 1 = ON, 2 = OFF
Example Amplifier (Steam unit)
- With K1 switch A1, K2 switch A2.
- Ideal to switch un-reinforced outputs.
- 1 = 2 = ON
Product description
The mXion KLI is a versatile module. It is used to simulate on fire, neon tubes (start flicker), blue lights and cross or crossing gates lighting, kerosene lamps and simulate can be used as amplifier. The mode is selected via DIP switch (red) on the board.
The exception this forms the fire mode. He is again in 3 other modes divied; these are as follows: Turn the DIP on fire mode (DIP1 ON/DIP2 OFF). Then you can:
Fire mode enables with K1, not use K2
Blue light mode enables with K2, not use K1
Crossing lights enables with K1+K2 simultan.
Ks switches general to ground (- pole). A1,2 switches synchronously with K1,2 and to ground. + Pole is the common counter contact.
The crossing light mode is ideal for unlimited transitions with the typical
flash equip. To this end, you can optionally each side 1 red light connecting
or 2 red lights.
For this mode, both must be connected IN and the mode on fire selected.
As switching amplifier, this module can also be used will. Unlike the other modes, where something is simulated, the input IN switches directly, without delay or simulation, the output OUT. This mode is suitable to a unreinforced swithing output (eg a decoder) high loads up to 1,5A to switch per output. So you can for example evaporators, motors, etc… turn without similar to switching decoder to destroy or to weigh heavily.
Application examples
The examples shown here serve only excite.
- imitation of light (petroleum, neon) in locomotives, cars, buildings and much more
- lamp simulation petroleum e.g. for the headlights of the steam locomotive
- fire simulation (camp fire, boiler fire)
- blue light simulations (ambulance, police)
- railroad crossing light control
- switching amplifier by a weak simply amplify the decoder output
- easy handling with screw clamp
- in combination with the TLSpro automatically switchable via brightness (e.g. neon simulation in building in darkness switch automatically on/off)
