m-e Funk-Gong FG-6.2 Doorbell Door Chime

Thank you for purchasing the wireless bell FG-6.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AND KEEP THEM FOR POSSIBLE LATER USE!

No cables are necessary for this wireless doorbell. If the bell button is pressed a signal is sent to the bell unit, which activates the bell. The operating range is up to 200 metres, depending on the line of sight. The range of the radio signal is, however, reduced if the signal needs to be transmitted through walls or ceilings. Metal doorframes and reinforced UPVC doorframes also reduce the operating range.

BELL BUTTON UNIT

(Figure 1)

1 x 3 volt lithium battery (CR2450) is already installed. Please remove the battery contact strip if necessary. The bell button is ready for immediate use.

Mounting
To mount the unit please break out the two pre-drilled holes and use the back as a template to mark the mounting position. Drill the holes and attach the mounting plate to the wall with the screws and dowels (included). Replace the front section.

Attention – Do not break the holes out if you do not want to mount the unit using screws as this will impede the unit’s water resistance.

If you wish to change this to one of the seven other possible tones then press the button (2) briefly until you hear a tone from the doorbell unit. Repeat this process until you hear the bell tone that you wish to use. The last tone played remains in the unit’s memory and is set.

Repeat these steps for all transmitters that need to be set up. A maximum of 4 transmitters are supported.
Note: If the bell button on the transmitter is not pressed within 4 seconds of activating learning mode, learning mode is automatically deactivated on the receiver and this is acknowledged by a signal tone.

A.5 Changing the system code
In rare cases the signal code of your system may overlap with that of a neighbour. If so, the code(s) will need to be changed.

  1. Open the transmitter and remove the battery (CR2450).
  2. Wait approx. 10 seconds and reinsert the battery.
  3. Unplug the receiver from the socket, or remove the batteries.
  4. Wait approx. 30 seconds.

Any additional transmitters must also be assigned a new code and must be set up again. To do this, remove the battery (CR2450) from the transmitter for approx. 10 seconds and then perform the steps listed under “Setting up additional transmitters”.

Changing the battery
Remove the back of the casing by pressing a small slotted screwdriver against the notch on the side and lift the casing off in an upward motion (as shown in figure 1). Remove the old battery and insert one 3-volt lithium battery (CR2450). Ensure that the positive pole (+) is facing in the right direction. Replace the cover by inserting the hooks on the top of the reverse side and click it into the lower edge.

BELL UNIT (figure 2)

The bell unit is operated with 2 ‘AA’ batteries. Open the battery compartment on the back and insert the batteries in accordance with the polarity markings. The unit is now ready for use.

Set volume
There is a rotary button (4) on the reverse in the battery compartment that can be used to set the volume. Turn the button in a clockwise direction to increase volume and in an anti-clockwise direction to reduce volume.
