m-e FG-2.2 Funk Gong

Thank you for purchasing the radio door bell FG-2.

Please read the following instructions carefully and keep them for possible later use!

No cables are necessary for this wireless doorbell. If the bell button is pressed a signal is sent to the bell unit, which activates the bell. The receiver is fitted with a through plug, which means that the socket can continue to be used (a switch function is not given). The operating range is up to 100 metres, depending on the line of sight. The range of the radio signal is, however, reduced if the signal needs to be transmitted through walls or ceilings. Metal doorframes and reinforced UPVC doorframes also reduce the operating range.

A. BELL BUTTON UNIT (Figure 1)

1 x 3 volt lithium battery (CR2450) is already installed. Please remove the battery contact strip it necessary. The bell button is ready for immediate use.

A. 1 Mounting
To mount the unit please break out the two pre-drilled holes and use the back as a template to mark the mounting position. Drill the holes and attach the mounting plate to the wall with the screws and dowels (included). Replace the front section.

Attention – Do not break the holes out if you do not want to mount the unit using screws as this will impede the unit’s water resistance.

INITIAL STARTUP

Setting up the transmitter

  1. Insert the battery in the transmitter.
  2. Plug the receiver into the socket, or insert the batteries in the receiver. The receiver should acknowledge this with two beeps.
  3. Press the bell button on the transmitter.
  4. The receiver plays a melody and the system is ready for use.

A.2 Setting the ring tone
Ring tone selection is carried out using the small, black button (2) in the bell button unit that is marked with the letter ‘S’. The ring tone is set to the Westminster’ tone at the factory. If you wish to change this to one of the seven other possible tones then press the button (2) briefly until you hear a tone from the doorbell unit. Repeat this process until you hear the bell tone that you wish to use. The last tone played remains in the unit’s memory and is set.

  1. Westminster
  2. Ding Ding Ding Dong
  3. Telephone
  4. Circus Theme
  5. Banjo On My Knee
  6. Twinkle Twinkle
  7. It’s A Small World
  8. Dog barking

Setting up additional transmitters
Each receiver supports up to 4 transmitters. To set up additional transmitters, proceed as follows:

Setting up additional transmitters
Each receiver supports up to 4 transmitters. To set up additional transmitters, proceed as follows:

  1. Press the CODE button (6) on the receiver for approx. 2 seconds, the receiver beeps once and is now in learning mode.
  2. Press the bell button on the additional transmitter within 4 seconds.
  3. The receiver plays a melody, the additional transmitter has been set up and the receiver returns to normal mode.

Repeat these steps for all transmitters that need to be set up. A maximum of 4 transmitters are supported.

Note: It the bell button on the transmitter is not pressed within 4 seconds of activating learning mode, learning mode is automatically deactivated on the receiver and this is acknowledged by a signal tone.

Changing the system code
In rare cases the signal code of your system may overlap with that of a neighbor. If so, the code(s) will need to be changed.

  1. Open the transmitter and remove the battery (CR2450).
  2. Wait approx. 10 seconds and reinsert the battery.
  3. Unplug the receiver from the socket, or remove the batteries.
  4. Wait approx. 30 seconds.
  5. Plug the receiver into the socket, or insert the batteries in the receiver. The receiver should acknowledge this with two beeps.
  6. Press the bell button on the transmitter.
  7. The receiver plays a melody.

Any additional transmitters must also be assigned a new code and must be set up again. To do this, remove the battery (CR2450) from the transmitter for approx. 10 seconds and then perform the steps listed under “Setting up additional transmitters”.

A.5 Changing the battery
Remove the back of the casing by pressing a small slotted screwdriver against the notch on the side and lift the casing off in an upward motion (as shown in figure 1). Remove the old battery and insert one 3-volt lithium battery (CR2450). Ensure that the positive pole (+) is facing in the right direction. Replace the cover by inserting the hooks on the top of the reverse side and click it into the lower edge.

A.6 Connecting to existing bell system or bell button
You can also integrate the transmitter via the three connections A, B and C in existing bell systems

Version 1
With an external (bell) button via clamps A and C

Version 2
With alternating current (e.g. in parallel to an existing door bell) via clamps A and B with a current of no more than 12 volt AC

Version 3
With direct current (e.g. in parallel to an existing door bell) via clamps A and B with a current of no more than 12 volt DC

A = Plus
B = Minus/mass

B. BELL UNIT (Fig. 2)

The bell unit is operated in a 230V power socket. Now insert the receiver in a power socket. The device is now operational.

B. 1 Set volume
There is a rotary button (4) on the reverse in the battery compartment that can be used to set the volume. Turn the button in a clockwise direction to increase volume and in an anti-clockwise direction to reduce volume.
