SAFETY INFORMATION

  1. Do not operate electrically powered products in potentially explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Electrically operated products generate sparks that can ignite the dust or vapours.

  2. Do not expose the power supply of this product to rain or moisture. Water ingress into the power supply increases the risk of electric shock.

  3. Do not misuse the power cord. Never use the cord to pull the plug from the outlet. Keep the power cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Damaged cables increase the risk of electric shock.

  4. The power adapter must match the power outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Otherwise, there is a risk of electric shock.

  5. The warnings, cautions and instructions discussed in this manual may not cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. Therefore, use the product with caution and care.

MOUNTING (OUTDOOR UNIT)

Before mounting, please check whether the radio range between outdoor and indoor unit meets your requirements.
The outdoor unit is designed for surface mounting.
On the back is the suspension (17), consisting of a slotted hole at the top and a hole in the battery compartment.
Mark the two holes at the mounting location.
To transfer the holes, stick a strip of adhesive tape to the rear housing so that
both holes are covered and trace the holes with a suitable pen. Remove the tape and use it as a drilling template.
Depending on the surface, use the screws supplied with or without dowels.
Screw the screw for the upper suspension into the wall so that there is approx. 3mm space between the wall and the screw head.
Remove the front cover of the outdoor unit by unscrewing the front cover screw (15) and pulling the front cover forward and open the battery compartment.
Then hang the outdoor station on the screw and fix it with another screw through the hole in the battery compartment.
Reassemble the outdoor station in reverse order.

POWER SUPPLY

Outdoor unit

The outdoor unit can be operated either with batteries or by means of an external power supply (e.g. bell transformer 8-12V DC or 12V DC plug-in power supply unit with hollow plug (not included in each case).
a) Batteries
Remove the front cover of the outdoor unit by unscrewing the front cover screw (15) and pulling the front cover forward.
Open the battery compartment and insert 3 batteries (type C) according to the polarity indicated in the battery compartment. Then close the battery compartment and replace the front cover. Then fix the front cover with the screw (15).
b) External power supply
Connect the cable of the external power source (e.g. bell transformer 8-12V DC) to the terminals (18) of the outdoor unit. You do not need to pay attention to the polarity.
Optionally, a plug-in power supply unit can be connected to the mains adapter socket (20).

Indoor unit

Connect the supplied mains adapter to the socket on the charging base and to the mains (230V / 50 Hz). The LED on the charging base lights up green as soon as the mains adapter is connected.

Open the battery compartment and insert the supplied rechargeable batteries (type AAA NiMH) into the battery compartment with the correct polarity. Close the battery compartment and then place the indoor unit in the charging stand. The LED on the charging base changes to red to indicate that charging is in progress. When charging is complete, the LED changes back to green.
Use the ON/OFF switch (7) to switch the indoor unit ON or OFF accordingly

SETTINGS

A total of two indoor and two outdoor units can be paired together. If another unit is to be  added, repeat steps 1-3 with the second indoor/ outdoor unit.

Notes:

  • If a third indoor or outdoor unit is paired, the unit that was paired first is removed from the system.
  • If an indoor unit is to be removed from the system, please press and hold the reset button of the unit for approx. 3 seconds until the display flashes red and blue. The unit is then no longer connected to any outdoor unit.

Setting the ringing melody
A total of 16 melodies are available.
Press the bell button (13), the indoor unit plays the currently set melody. Now press the button volume + (8) to play the next melody. Each time the volume button + is pressed, the next melody is played. To save the selected melody, press the talk button (4).
It is also possible to select different ringing melodies for two outdoor units.

Speech connection
When a visitor presses the call button on the outdoor unit, the indoor unit plays the selected ringing melody and the talk button lights up permanently in blue. Press the talk buttons on the indoor unit to answer and talk to the person on the outdoor unit (the LED indicator flashes blue during the talk connection). The call is made in duplex mode (as on the telephone). Press the talk button again to end the call. The LED display goes out.

Call volume of the outdoor unit

To be able to set the call volume of the outdoor unit, the outdoor unit must be opened. Remove the front cover as described under “Mounting”. There are 4 screws under rubber feet (19) on the back.
First remove the rubber feet by levering them out with a small flat-blade screwdriver. Then remove the 4 screws. Now the enclosure can be taken apart.
Note: The front part of the housing has two cable connections to the circuit board, 1x antenna and 1x loudspeaker. If necessary, carefully disconnect both connectors.

On the circuit board there is a blue potentiometer with which the call volume is adjusted. Be careful not to over-tighten the potentiometer, it can be turned a maximum of 320°.
When the volume has been adjusted to your conditions, reassemble the front- door station in reverse order.

Acknowledgement tone outdoor unit
Disassemble the outdoor unit as described in the previous paragraph. There is a small switch on the circuit board that can be used to turn the outdoor unit’s acknowledgement tone off or on. Slide the switch towards the battery compartment to turn the sound off or away from the battery compartment to turn it on.

Call volume indoor unit
During a call, press the button volume + (8) to increase the volume or the button volume – (9) to decrease the volume.

Battery check
As soon as the upper battery control LED (2) on the indoor unit flashes red during a call, the batteries of the indoor unit must be charged. To do this, place the indoor unit in the charging station. The charging control LED indicates the charging process by lighting up red.
If the outdoor unit is operated with batteries and the lower battery control LED (4) flashes red, replace the batteries of the outdoor unit must be replaced.
