M-E BELL-219 TX Wireless Door Bell Transmitter

M-E BELL-219 TX Wireless Door Bell Transmitter-fig1

Thank you for purchasing the Bell-219 TX sound-active radio transmitter.
This transmitter detects an acoustic signal, for example from an existing bell system or a telephone and sends a signal by radio to any BELL systerm door bell or FG doorbell. In this way, you can extend the range and number of existing bell systems without having to interfere with them.

Attention
Please note: The sensitivity of the sound-active radio transmitter must be adjusted to your bell system in order to avoid unintentional triggering of the bell.

SCOPE OF DELIVERY

COMMISSIONING

To put the sound-active radio transmitter into operation for the first time, open the battery compartment and insert the batteries into the battery Compartment with the corect polarity. Close the battery compartment again. The radio trans- mitter now automatically sets a transmission code and can be tuned in to a suit- able receiver. Connect the sensor to the BELL-219 TX by inserting the sensor plug 7) into the sensor socket (6). Put the receiver into learning mode. During the first start-up, it is already in learning mode as soon as the batteries are inserted in the receiver. lif another transmitter has already been tuned in, refer to the instructions for the receiver to find out how to tune in other transmitters. f the receiver is in learning mode, briefly press the selection button for the ring tone once or activate the BELL-219 1X by making a noise (e.g. knocking on the sensor). This causes the radio transmitter to transmit the set transmission code to the receiver and the receiver plays a melody. The radio transmitter is now ready for operation and you can continue with the installation. Finally, adjust the sensitivity of the sensor to your conditions as described in the section “Adjusting the sensitivity

MOUNTING

The Bell-219 TX has a suspension (10) on the back with which it can be mounted, e.g.on the wall. The suspension can be slid over a screw whose head has a dia meter of max. 6mm and min. 3.5mm. The mounting so that the sensor can be fixed directly on the signal source. location should be chosen  To attach the sensor directly to the signal source, a double-sided adhesive pad is included. Peel off the protective film on one side of the adhesive pad and stick it to the sensor as shown in the illustration. Then remove the second protective film from the adhesive pad and stick the sensor onto the signal source. The indentation of the sensor with the small hole in the middle should be pointed directly at the signal source.
For mounting the sensor, also observe the instructions in the paragraph “Setting the sensitivity”.

NOTE
Mounting the radio transmitter on PVC door frames or metal surfaces can con- siderably limit the range.
As soon as the sound-active radio transmitter registers a sound in the set sensit-ivity, it sends an impulse to the radio receiver, which then sounds. The green LED on the front of the sound-active radio transmitter lights up for a short time. In noisy environments, false triggering may occur. If necessary, adjust the sensitiv-ity of the radio transmitter accordingly to minimise false triggering.

Attention
The device is only suitable for indoor operation!

SETTING THE SENSITIVITY

On the side is the adjusting wheel (4) with which the sensitivity of the sensor can be continuously adjusted. The set sensitivity can be read in the viewing window (3). 0 corresponds to the lowest sensitivity and 6 corresponds to the highest sensitivity. If the BELL-219 TX also triggers in case of quiet or disturbing noises, turn the setting wheel to a smaller number. If the BELL-219 TX does not trigger at all, turn the dial to a higher number. The sensitivity can be adjusted continu-ously.

Procedure for initial start-up
Turn the setting wheel to the lowest sensitivity and then trigger your bell. If the BELL-219 TX already reacts, the sensitivity is set correctly. If the BELL-219 TX does not trigger, increase the sensitivity slightly and then test again. Repeat the procedure until the BELL-219 TX reliably detects your bell and no longer reacts to interfering noises.

Note
If you turn the setting wheel, the transmitter may trigger even without noise. Wait briefly until the transmitter no longer sends a signal (transmission control LED off) and the paired radio receiver has finished its melody and light signals. Then test the sensitivity again. If the BELL-219 TX does not trigger, increase the sensitivity further.

Note
Set the volume of your bell (if possible) to maximum volume before adjusting the sensitivity of the BELL 215 TX transmitter. In this way, the ring tone can be recognised better and the sensitivity of the sensor can be set as low as possible. False triggers due to extraneous noise can thus be further reduced.

MELODY SELECTION

If the side selection button (8) for the ring tones is pressed, the melody of the receiver changes, the last melody selected is automatically saved. There are
8 melodies to choose from.

ACOUSTIC CALL DIFFERENTIATION
When operating the BELL-219 TX and another m-e radio transmitter at the same time, both units can be set to different melodies. This allows you to distinguish acoustically which radio transmitter has triggered.

CHANGE CODE

If the receiver (radio chime or radio bell) sounds without a sound being detected by the BELL-219 TX, this may be due to a device in your environment that is operated with the same transmission code. In this case, change the transmission code. To do this, remove the batteries from the transmitter for 10 seconds, this will delete the transmission code. If you insert the batteries again, the radio transmitter automatically searches for a new transmission code. Then reset the receiver (restore factory settings) and activate the learning mode (see receiver instructions). Then trigger the BELL-219 TX so that the receiver learns the new transmission code.

BATTERY

The sound-active radio transmitter is powered by 2 AA 1.5Volt batteries (not sup-plied). To insert or change the batteries, remove the battery compartment cover by sliding it slightly in the direction of the arrow. Then remove the battery com-partment cover and insert two 1.5 volt AA batteries into the battery compart-ment with the correct polarity. Place the battery compartment cover back over the batteries and push it closed until it clicks into place.

Attention
When inserting the batteries, please observe the polarity as shown in the illus-tration. Rechargeable batteries must not be used as they have a lower voltage and this will affect the functionality of this unit.
After each battery change, the transmission code changes and the radio trans- mitter must be taught-in again on the receiver.
