Thermal Cut-out Device

The air circulator is fitted with a thermal safety cut-out device, built in to prevent it from overheating. Should the air circulator start to overheat, the thermal safety cut-out system will automatically operate and the heat settings will switch off. If this happens:

STEP 1: Switch off the air circulator by flicking the power switch on the bottom of the back panel to the ‘Off’ position.

STEP 2: Unplug the air circulator from the mains power supply and allow it to cool for approx. 15 minutes.

STEP 3: Clear any blockages present in the vent, being careful not to cause damage.

STEP 4: Plug in and switch on the air circulator at the mains power supply; the air circulator can now be used again. Caution: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertently tripping the thermal cut-out, this air circulator must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer. Nor should it be connected to a circuit this is regularly switched on and off by the utility.

Care and Maintenance

Always unplug the air circulator from the mains power supply and allow to cool sufficiently before performing any cleaning or maintenance.
Wipe the air circulator with a soft, damp cloth and allow to dry thoroughly.
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning solvents, as these may damage the finish of the air circulator.
Do not immerse the air circulator in water or any other liquid.

Instructions for Use

Before First Use

Position the air circulator on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface in an open space. Make sure the air circulator is at least 1 metre away from furniture, curtains or any other flammable materials. Do not block the air intake on the back of the air circulator.

Note: When using the air circulator for the first time, a slight odour may be emitted. This is normal and will soon subside. Allow for sufficient ventilation around the air circulator.

Do not force the head to move, as this will break the swing feature.
To carry the air circulator, turn it off and unplug it from the mains power supply. Carry the power cord in one hand and the air circulator main unit in the other, this will reduce the chance of tripping during transport.

Using the Orbit Air Circulator

STEP 1: Plug in and switch on the air circulator at the mains power supply.

STEP 2: Flick the power switch located on the bottom left of the air circulator main unit to the ‘On’ position; the air circulator will automatically read out the ambient temperature and humidity.

STEP 3: Press on either the remote control or the control panel to use the air circulator functions.

Using the Cooling, Heating and Fan Functions

The air circulator has three functions:

  • Fan
  • Heat
  • Humidify

STEP 1: Once is pressed, the air circulator fan function starts automatically at the lowest speed setting.

STEP 2: Cycle through the speed settings (from 1 to 12) using+ and-. The selected fan speed will be shown on the control panel.

STEP 3: Press+ on the remote control to cycle through the fan modes:
Normal – This mode has a continuous air output until the air circulator is manually turned off.
Natural – This mode is designed to imitate a natural breeze; the air output varies until the air circulator is manually turned off.
Sleep – This mode is designed to slowly reduce the fan speed settings every 30 minutes until the lowest setting is reached, it will then remain on the low speed setting.
Eco – This mode has a continuous air output at the lowest speed setting until the air circulator is manually switched off; other speed settings cannot be selected.

STEP 4: For the heat function, select l,; press once for heat function 1, twice for heat function 2. Use+ and – to select the desired temperature. To deselect the heat function, select t, again until the control panel shows it is unselected.

STEP 5: There are two oscillation settings available: side to side and vertical. Select the desired oscillation settings by pressing ‘V and/or ) from either the remote control or the control panel. Selecting both oscillation settings simultaneously results in a figure of eight motion designed to circulate air more efficiently.

STEP 6: For the humidify function, select Q as displayed on the control panel. To fill the humidification tank with clean water, pull it out from the front of the air circulator main unit. Once full, slide the humidification tank back into place so that the water tank is flush with the air circulator.

STEP 7: Press (9 on the remote control to use the timer mode. Cycle through the time intervals to set the air circulator to automatically turn off in half-hourly intervals, from half an hour up to 7.5 hours. To deselect the timer function cycle through the times until it is deselected.

STEP 8: To turn off the control panel lights, press* on the remote control. Click it once again to turn the control panel lights back on.

STEP 9: To use the aroma diffusion feature, twist the aroma diffuser on the rear of the air circulator main unit and drip the chosen essential oil (not included) onto the sponge. It is recommended to test the strength of the scent prior to loading the sponge.

STEP 10: To switch off the air circulator, press* on the remote control or the control panel once again, then flick the power switch to the ‘Off’ position.

Note: The air circulator does not automatically shut off; the speed gradually reduces over a 30 second period depending on how fast the blades were spinning.
The 350 ml humidification tank must be filled prior to the humidification function being used to avoid damaging the air circulator.

Storage

Check that the air circulator is completely cool before storing in a cool, dry place.
Never wrap the cord tightly around the air circulator; wrap it loosely to avoid causing damage.
