Use

How to record

  1. Plug in the DC adapter.
  2. Connect a HDMI cable to your device, use the input host (e.g. Xbox, PlayStation).
  3. From the output host, connect a HDMI cable to your monitor.
  4. Plug in a USB-disk to save your recording.
  5. If you want to record your voice, plug in a microphone in the MIC host.
  6. Press the REC button to start recording the game. The LED indicator will turn red. Press REC button again to stop recording, the LED indicator will flash for a few seconds and turn green.

After you stop recording, connect the USB-disk to a computer to see the recorded files. The files have default names; for 1080p recording, the file name is Encode_1080P_1, for 720 or 480p recording, the file name is Encode_1. Each recording session will create a different recording file.

The max size per file will be around 1.95GB (around 15-17 minutes for 1080p video), if you record a video more than 1.95GB, the recorder will divide it in several files, for example: if you record a 45 minutes 1080p video in one session, you will get 3 files: Encode_1080P1, Encode 1080P _1_1, Encode_1 □BOP _1_2. The recording will stop automatically if the USBdrive gets full or if the input signal gets lost.

Note: Remember to use ‘safety remove’ when disconnecting the USB-drive from the computer, otherwise there may be problems during the next recording. If you use a USB HOD and it has more than one partition, the recording will stop when the first partition is full. Make sure you configurate after your needs.
If you use a media player to playback the recorded video, make sure it supports MPEG4 video and AAC audio decode.

Update firmware
You may need to update the firmware for this device. To do this, copy the firmware file into a USB disk. Unplug the device from the power supply, plug in a USB disk to the device and plug in the power. The LED-indicator will flash for 7-8 seconds, then the update is finished.

Reset
After a while of using, the number of recording files will grow significantly. To start over from Encode_ 1080P _O, you can reset the recorder. Reset by pressing the record button (before turning the power on), then plug in the power cord. After 3 seconds, the file number will start from D.

Edit and convert files

The HD Video Capture comes with a video edit software-Arcsoft ShowBiz 3.5. You can use Showbiz to edit your videos. The serial number for the software is found on the back of the CD bag.
