NOTICE
ATTENTION

The child restraint belongs to the categories ‘universal’. Approved in accordance with UN Regulation No. 44, series of amendments 04, for general vehicle use and suitable for mounting on most car seats. Correct installation is possible if the vehicle manufacturer has stated in the vehicle’s instruction manual that the vehicle is suitable for the installation of ‘universal’ child restraints for this age group. This child restraint has been classified as ‘universal’ under more demanding conditions in relation to conditions applying to previous designs that do not have this information. In case of doubt, consult the manufacturer or the retailer of the device.

Suitable for installation only if type-approved vehicles are equipped with three-point seat belts fitted with a retractor that has been approved in accordance with UN Regulation No. 16 or other equivalent standards.

Information about the ISOFIX system:

NOTE!

  1. This is an ISOFIX CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM. It is approved in accordance with UN Regulation No. 44, 04 series of amendments for general use on vehicles equipped with ISOFIX anchorages.
  2. It fits vehicles with positions approved as ISOFIX positions (according to the vehicle’s instruction manual) depending on the child seat category and attachment.
  3. ISOFIX weight group and size class for which the device is intended:
    E for group 0+

CATEGORY “SEMI-UNIVERSAL”
This child restraint system is classified for use in the “semi-universal” category and is suitable for installation in the following cars:

See the user manual for a list of models. This device can also be installed in seating positions in other car models. If in doubt, consult the device manufacturer or retailer. Rearward-facing installation: do not install the device on seats equipped with active front airbags.

Before you use the child safety seat for the first time, please read this manual carefully.
The product is allowed for ECE R44/04 as the safety seat for weight categories 0+, I, II and III (0-36kg).
A failure to follow the manual may lead to accidents. The product must always be used and installed in the way described in this manual.

IMPORTANT
Please read this manual before the first use and keep it. The manual provides a description on how to assemble the safety seat properly. An unsuitable assembly may pose a threat to child’s heath. The manufacturer shall not be held responsible for potential hazards caused by unsuitable assembly of the safety seat.

  1. This safety seat is intended for weight categories (groups) 0+, I, II i III, which means that it can be used by children whose weight does not exceed 36 kg (aged up to 11).
    0+ weight group: 0-13kg

  2. weight group: 9-18kg

  3. weight group: 15-25kg

  4. weight group: 22-36kg

  5. The safety seat is intended for vehicles equipped with 3-point safety seats granted a certificate of approval in accordance with the Regulations no. 16 ECG/UN or other equivalent standards.

  6. Rearward-facing installation: do not install the device on seats equipped with active front airbags.

  7. All safety seat belts must be tight, adapted to child’s body and must not be twisted.

  8. All lap belts must be carried low so that the child’s pelvis is properly supported.

  9. Buckles must be done up properly and securely. In case of emergency, a proper assembly of buckles lets you take the child out of the safety seat easily.

  10. The device must be replaced if subject to rapid loads during accident.

  11. Do not modify the product in any way.

  12. Avoid situations in which the safety seat is exposed to direct sunlight. Otherwise it may heat up and in effect cause the child to scald itself.

  13. Do not leave the child in the safety seat unattended.

  14. Make sure the luggage and other items which may lead to injuries in case of accident have been secured.

  15. Do not use the safety seat without material cover. Do not replace the cover with other than recommended by the manufacturer. The cover is an integral part of the safety seat.

  16. The safety seat must be used in the car only.

  17. It is forbidden to place any items on the child’s safety seat.

  18. Hard elements and plastic parts of the child holding device must be placed and installed in a way that they are not trapped by a movable seat and vehicle door during regular operation of the vehicle.

  19. Before every travel, make sure the safety seat has been properly and securely mounted.

  20. During the travel, the safety seal must be properly attached to the car’s seat by means of the car safety belt or ISOFIX and Top Tether, even when there is no child.

  21. Do not use load bearing points of contact other than those described in the instructions and marked on the child restraint

  22.  For rearward facing installation: do not install the child seat on seats with airbags.

  23. Install the rearward-facing seat if the child weighs less than 9 kg

CAUTION! Never use the safety seat with 2-point seat belts. Fig. 1,2

  1. Place the safety seat facing forward. Do not place the safety seat on the passenger’s front seat when the passenger’s airbag is active
  2. Do not place the safety seat on the seat with 2-point seat belts.

SAFETY SEAT BELTS

To fasten belts in the safety seat:

  1. Connect belt clasps together.
  2. Make sure the connection is proper.
  3. Insert them into the fastening, you will hear a distinctive click.
  4. Make sure the belts have been properly tightened and are not twisted. To undo the belts, press the red button (fig. 4).

To disassemble 5-point belts of the safety seat:

  1. Press the red button and loosen the belts.

  2. Remove the loose belts from the connectors in the back of the safety seat (fig. 5).

  3. Take the belts from the safety seat through holes.

  4. Remove arm pads.

  5. Roll up shoulder belts and place them in the safety seat holes (fig. 6).

  6. Loosen the crotch belt, take the buckle located under the safety seat and remove the belt. Pull the crotch belt and pull through the hole (fig. 7, 8).lionelo Bastiaan Baby Car Seat User-8
    To assemble the belts again, retake the actions above in reversed order. Make sure the belts have been properly inserted in the buckles and are not twisted (fig. 9).

Safety seat belts tension adjustment

  1. Make sure the safety seat belts fit tight to the child’s body and are not twisted.
  2. To tighten the belts, pull the shoulder belts upwards and pull the tension adjustment belt at the same time (fig. 10).
  3. To loosen the belts and adjust their length, press the button between the child’s legs and pull the shoulder arms. Make sure you pull the belts, not shoulder pads (fig. 11).

Safety seat belts height adjustment

  1. A suitable belts height assures increased comfort and safety of your child. The height must be adapted in a way that two fingers fit between the child and belts.
  2. To adjust the height, loosen the belts and remove them from the buckles in the back of the safety seat.
  3. Take the shoulder belts out through the safety seat holes and insert in holes at relevant height.
  4. Assemble the belts in buckles again (fig. 12).

REMOVING COVER

  1. Remove 5-point belts of the safety seat.
  2. Remove the cover from the base and backrest.
  3. Set a top position of the headrest.
  4. Remove the cover.
    To apply the cover again, retake the aforesaid actions in reversed order.
    NOTE: Never use the safety seat without the cover.

SAFETY SEAT INCLINATION
The safety seat may be positioned at three inclination angles and in the lying position (fig. 13).
To incline the safety seat, grab the handle located between the safety seat and base, and set in a required position.
To adjust the lying position, press the rotation button, turn the safety seat by 180° and then set the lying position of the backrest.
The second level is intended for children whose weight is 15-36kg, while the third level 9-18kg.

To rotate the safety seat, press the rotation button and rotate the safety seat (fig. 14)

CAUTION: Before the travel, make sure the safety seat has been locked and cannot rotate on its own.

HEADREST HEIGHT
The headrest must be positioned at the height which assures that shoulder belts are at the height of child’s shoulders (fig. 15):

A. TOO LOW
B. TOO HIGH
C. OK

To adjust the headrest height, pull the adjustment handle along with the headrest (fig. 16).

HOW TO ASSEMBLE SAFETY SEAT IN THE CAR
GROUP 0+ (up to 13 kg)
For this weight group the safety seat is assembled in a rear- facing position, with horizontal position of the backrest and with the use of car seatbelts or ISOFIX and TOPTETHER system.

Assembly with 5-point safety seat belts and car belts (fig. 17, 18)

  1. Pull the car belt and carry the hip part through the blue guide under the reduction pad.
  2. Carry the shoulder part of the car belt through the blue guide in the back of the safety seat.
  3. Fasten the belt, tighten it and make sure it is not twisted.
    If in doubt about this point, please contact the manufacturer.

Assembly with ISOFIX system
Before installing, read the vehicle’s instruction manual.

  1. Press ISOFIX button to pull out the arms.Insert the arms into ISOFIX handles in the car.
  2. You will hear a distinctive click, which means the fastening is correct. On both arms the indicator should be green (fig. 19).
  3. Take out the upper fastening belt of the safety seat and attach the hook in one of three positions presented below. Tighten the belt and make sure it has been properly mounted.

Assembly of the top belt TOPTETHER
Connecting the upper strap to the attachment points (fig. 20):

  • For most cars, the rear seat is mounted on the rear shelf at the rear window.
  • Fitting to the floor of the boot, which is behind the rear seats.
  • Fixing just under the seat of the vehicle, you have to put the seat to find the hook.
  • Fitting to the rear seats of the vehicle (fig. 21).
    Using the upper strap greatly increases the clamping force. The mounting position will vary depending on the vehicle.

GROUP I (9-18 kg)
For this group weight, the child seat is ISOFIX-facing with car belts or car belts only. Before installing, read the vehicle’s instruction manual.

Assembly instruction:

  1. Assemble the child seat using ISOFIX (fig. 22):
    • Press the ISOFIX button to extend the arms.
    • Put your shoulders in ISOFIX car holders. You hear a click of a button, indicating a correct fixation. On both shoulders, the indicator should be green.
  2. Then use three-point car belts (fig. 23):
    • Fold the shoulder part of the belt between the headrest with the backrest. Place the hip over the red guide.
    • Fasten the belt.
    • Push the seat and pull the car belt.
      If you are installing in cars without ISOFIX, skip the first point.

GROUP II and III (15-36 kg) (fig. 22, 24)
For weight group 2 and 3 you must disassemble 5-point belts of the safety seat.

  1. Assemble the child seat using ISOFIX:
    • Press the ISOFIX button to extend the arms.
    • Put your shoulders in ISOFIX car holders. You hear a click of a button,indicating a correct fixation. On both shoulders, the indicator should be green.
  2. Carry the car belt through the red guide on the headrest, and hip part through the red guide beside the seat.
  3. Fasten the belt.
  4. Tighten the car belt.
  5. Make sure the shoulder part goes through the child’s collarbone, not a neck. The hip part must be positioned as low of the child’s hip as possible.
  6. Adjust the headrest height.
    If you are installing in cars without ISOFIX, skip the first point.

HOOD ASSEMBLY (fig. 25, 26)

  1. Pull the hood over the headrest of the seat
  2. Hook the mounting bands on plastic element of the headrest, as in the picture below.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

  1. Check for any damage to the safety seat on a regular basis. In case of any irregularities, replace the safety seat immediately.
  2. Make sure the safety seat is not exposed to direct sunlight.
  3. Covers may be cleaned in warm water with a soap or a soft detergent. Do not dry the covers in the sun.
  4. Clean a clasp, safety seat belts and plastic elements with warm water. Do not use any detergents.
