SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the operating instructions carefully before use! Please retain for future reference.
Work area
- Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
- Do not operate power tools in explosive environments, e.g. in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which can ignite dust or fumes.\
- Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause users to lose control of the tool.
- The hot knife is only intended for household use and must only be operated indoors.
Electrical safety
- The power tool plug must fit the power outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electrocution.
- Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators, cookers and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electrocution if your body is earthed or grounded.
- Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electrocution.
- Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Ensure that the power cord is protected from heat and that it does not come into contact with oil, sharp edges or the tool’s moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electrocution.
- When operating the power tool outdoors, only use an extension cord approved for outdoor use. Using a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electrocution. Always use the power tool with an RCD (Residual Current Device).
- If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a power supply that is protected with a residual current device (RCD). Using an RCD reduces the risk of electrocution.
Personal safety
- Be alert. Always be careful and use common sense when working with power tools. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A lapse of concentration while operating power tools may result in serious injury.
- The hot knife is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the hot knife by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the hot knife.
- Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment tailored to the type and use of the power tool, such as dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hats and hearing protection, will reduce the risk of personal injuries.
- Avoid unintentional starting. Ensure that the switch is in the off position before connecting to the power source or when the power tool is to be lifted/carried. Carrying power tools with your finger on the on-off switch or energising power tools that are switched on invites accidents.
- Remove any wrenches or similar objects before starting the power tool. Any wrench or key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
- Do not overreach. Keep a proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
- Dress properly. Do not wear loose-fitting clothes or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
- If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
Use and care of power tools
- Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The tool will work better and be safer with the load for which it is designed.
- Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
- Disconnect the power cord before making any adjustments, replacing accessories or storing the power tool. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
- Keep power tools that are not in use stored out of the reach of children. Never let children or persons unfamiliar with the power tool or who have not read these instructions operate it. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
- Use the power tool, accessories and blades, etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. It may be dangerous to use power tools for purposes other than those for which they are intended.
WARNING! Always place the hot knife on the stand when not in use.
Service
- The power tool may only be serviced by qualified service personnel using identical spare parts. This will ensure that safety is maintained when using the power tool.
- If the power cord is damaged, it should be replaced by the manufacturer or by a qualified service centre/electrician.
WARNING! Do not use accessories or spare parts other than those recommended in these operating instructions as this could increase the risk of injury. Only use original spare parts.
TECHNICAL DATA

OPERATION
- Knife blade
- Power indicator
- On-Off switch
- Connect the plug to an earthed socket with the correct voltage.
- Turn the temperature knob (C) to the desired temperature.
- Position 1 = 120°C
- Position 2 = 220°c
- Position 4 400 C
- Position 5 = 450°C

- Once the cutting blade (A) has reached the set temperature, its sharp edge may be used to cut lines, or the side of the blade may be used to make a wide cut.
- It takes several minutes for the blade (A) to cool after the hot knife has been turned off. Take care whilst the blade is still hot.
- Disconnect the plug from the socket.
- Once the hot knife has cooled, it should be stored in a clean, dry and secure place out of the reach of children and unauthorised users.
MAINTENANCE
- Before carrying out any work on the hot knife, always disconnect the mains plug.
- For safe and proper operation, always keep the hot knife and its ventilation slots clean.
- If the hot knife does not work despite the care taken in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be carried out by an authorised service centre.
